For a driver to be thrown from the car in today's fully-enclosed cockpit racing environment (i.e. stock cars) is extremely rare and usually the fault of a shoddily constructed car, a safety equipment failure or a lack of proper safety equipment usage and/or installation. Inexcusable. 100% preventable in my opinion. While it could have been a freak failure of a part or component, the odds are not in favor of that scenario. So thankful she is conscious and alive. She is lucky to still be with us after that carnage. Proof once again that drivers need to understand that yes, it CAN happen to you, and make sure your safety equipment is the best you can buy -- even in an entry-level division. And, just as important, make sure you know how to use and install said safety equipment. It's the cheapest insurance around, and I guarantee you it will have been much cheaper to install the latest and greatest safety equipment rather than pay her hospital bills after this is over with.

Update on Bryanna: She has 6 broken ribs, broken collar bone, both shoulder blades are fractured, her check bones are fractured, she has some fractures in her lower back and lower neck, the humerus bone in her arm is broke and there are doing surgery in the morning for it, and she has a punctured lung.
