Psychology of money...... When I walked into my first economics class, the prof looked at all us farm kids (I majored in ag)and said, "If you plan to farm for a living, you're crazy." Turned out he was right, but bringing myself to believe it took some time.

I don't really have reading goals. I do read all my book club choices (1/mo), and I'm working on the Great Books 10 Year Reading Plan (after 40 years I'm almost done with year 9). Otherwise, it's just what catches my interest.

Maybe after more differently abled folk write good stories like Out on ,a Limb about their lives, matter of fact and yeah just like that, we can see it handled with more finesse by others?

As a good newspaper reporter (according to my editor) hearing about how you approach the writing process is fast. I cannot do what you do to save my soul, but I appreciate good fiction (which yours is, thank you).

On "Atlas Shrugged" it suffers from the same problem most "message" books do - forget the story in favor of the message. Heinlein is also very good at this.

Really well-articulated and justified responses. Loved the description 'like an abridged version of itself'.

Gawain is the best word on keeping your honor. He informs most (Western) literature on the subject. And it's hard to understand the topic without him.

Baker and Tenet are my favorite Doctors. The stories are enticing.

Hated it as a kid. Still can't stand it. Maybe it hit a little too close to home. Maybe I'm being Jo because all the girls in my class loved it (and had execrable taste in books.)

Sounds like an update on the Great Books (my reading challenge for the last 13 years). Some are great! Some are meh. Some are dumb. And some are infuriating (Das Capital, currently. I scream "That's just STUPID!!!" over and over.)

Always fun to read about the inspiration for a favorite role or character.

I definitely agree with you, and its so interesting how in this book, her historical fiction novel, has more of a sad ending compared to her other two horror novels which have more of a bittersweet ending 🥲 Potential Spoiler Warning Thoughts Below ⚠️ What do you think the symbolism of the death of Saint John the Baptist's head is? Is the true tragedy of the book killing someone you love in order to achieve what your want, but at what cost? I suppose that also aligns with what happens in Nancy's and Vera's storyline 🤧

Believe it or not, I felt that way reading Their Eyes Were Watching God. Every time I figured what should happen next, it turned out totally different. And the ending took me flat footed astonished.

Well, shit. We need to reclaim the month and the project. NaNo may have named it and facilitated it, but we the writers made it happen through our participation. Writevember will rise again! Also, Malcolm is my king. Re percents in Google Sheets, have you used the "format number as" option? You don't have to change the cell formula; just select the column and format it as a percent, and the app does the work for you. (I'm also a fan of doing my own analytics in Sheets and have done complicated formulas to calculate POV character word counts and other details!)
