      @RajlivHD because for social media it gives a sharper cleaner picture. 24fps looks soft and low quality on social media. You can call it an eye sore, that is exactly what I think about 24fps, it stutters and is soft looking, 24fps, is only for cinema, it looks crap after app compression. Also, you may not realise, but many apps convert your 24fps to 30fps, so you're not watching 24fps on some very popular apps. Can't film 30fps here due to the electric frequency.

      Kentfaith concept, adapter, or K and F concept for the Lumix cameras. I mentioned it near the end of the video. It has a big internal opening and can fit the 33mm lens with the back extension. I have also ordered one for my Canon RF cameras as the canon genuine EF to RF adapter doesn't fit! When it arrives, I will see if it fits. Will do a video on it when I am sure.

      Just an update, I just used it in the real world over the weekend for a getaway trip to Yanchep National Park, vid coming soon. It is actually a bit harder to focus with Than the other lenses as the focus plane only gradually goes out of focus rather than a sudden drop off. Making it a little harder to see if it is smack on focus. But still workable.

    Found a dumb adapter from K and F concept which has a bigger hole internally than the Canon genuine EF to R mount adapter. $29.95 AUD so worth a try to see if it works. Will do a review when the adapter arrives.

    !CAUTION! I have seen several videos mentioning that the close focus problem can be solved with diopters. Now I tested it and nobody tells you that the diopters limit the focus range severely. For example, with my 50mm and a +1 diopter the maximum focus distance is 2.5 meters, with a +2 diopter I can only focus between 20cm to 60cm distance. This is really annying if you want to for example dolly in on a subject ir for any dynamic Gimbal shots.

    • @waynosfotoscameras
      @waynosfotoscameras หลายเดือนก่อน

      @smepable yeah true, but like any magnifying glass, I thought this would be obvious. You need to swap out the diopters for your distance to the subject. But remember, it is only needed for close objects. Saying this, I found on some lenses that the +1 had a big focal area whilst increasing the overall sharpness wide open. So it could be used if the subject was not to far away to sharpen up the lens a little i.e. 100mm at T2.8. Thanks for the clarification 👍

    The Lumix cameras outperform Canons at high ISO. They use the same sensors as the Sony cameras. And 1080p at 60fps is line skipped on the S5II, so its image quality and DR performance is a quite a bit worse than at 30 fps and lower.

    Spot on. Ideally you want 6:5 for zero crop on 2x if you want 2.39:1 delivery. Of the lower cost cameras that can do that, there's the BM Pyxis, 6k Cinema I think, and definitely the Z Cam F6 - which can do it in full sensor and 4k crop. Maybe there are others, probably the Kinefinities. Or just get an Arri Mini LF 😅 PS even with the the Remus if you use Open Gate 6k, you only have to zoom in around 6% for full coverage on 2.39:1, so you can get quite a different fov with no quality loss if exporting in 4k.

    Solid video. Its also worth mentioning even if your FF camera offers a *true* OG mode, the native aspect plays a pivot role in post conforming. For instance, if you pair a 3:2 sensor in a true OG mode with a 2X scope, and conforming that image to a 2.39:1 canvas, you're disposing a whopping 20% of your capture resolution / FOV on each side of the frame to fill your standard cinema scope project. This is why its important to select stretch factors that pair to your native aspect sensor. A 1.5X or 1.6X for a 3:2 sensor would be ideal, where as a 1.8X or 2X would be ideal with a 4:3 shaped sensor to minimize cropping.

    I've got a Sirui which seems a lot like that. I really like it. It's light, and so much faster than setting up a tripod. I'm not sure yours is aluminum, the one I have is carbon fiber, very light weight. I find it helpful as additionally because when you have a camera on your neck, you are limited in how much you can brace yourself with your hands when crawling over boulders etc. This is sturdy enough to be a light weight 'walking stick' to help keep your balance. When I'm in rough terrain, I keep it sufficiently extended for that purpose You are right it does not need a head, a key point of a monopod is you can move and aim very quickly.

    FYI, there is a vertical thin white streak that appears to originate from the bottom screen upwards to the side of your neck and diminishes somewhere around your face under your glasses. At first I thought my screen was scratched but it is from the video. Kind of odd as it's not related to the anamorphic streaks which are vertical, and the streak doesn't continue vertically all the way to the top of the screen.

      Yes I am aware of the vertical flare and the blue dot artefacts. I did have a +1 diopter on the lens. But after watching a video by Jan Wegener on the Canon R6 Mark II, I decided to rent one. Absolutely incredible focusing capabilities and produces amazing 4K video. I do not like the smaller body of the R5, R6, and others, but love the large body of the 1Dx series cameras. I ordered a Canon R3 a few days ago, and it will be delivered today! Thank you for this video and for reinforcing my decision to buy the R3! The new R1 will not have any improvements over the R3 for my photo/video use, so no need for me to buy the R1. I support Cam Mackey's perspective: why would you get an anamorphic lens for a clinically sharp image? You buy a lens for the look. You can just use a native Sony/Cannon lens and crop the top and bottom off. You don't usually buy lenses because they have bad flare. You might pick the Remus over Saturn anamorphic lens because it gives the image a Hollywood look, which is not clinically sharp, it's often soft.

    Finally, Remus lenses on a Canon system! Are you using Canon's EF-RF adapter to adapt the Remus to your R3?

    If the 100mm is blooming too much particularly in hazy situation would a UV filter help?

      Just trying to get some info out there for you guys. In hindsight, probably should have used a better subject. Have another video coming soon where I used these on real job, a wedding. So watch out for that one.

    Hey would this work well on a super bike? Your thoughts?

      When you say superbike, what are you referring too?

      @@waynosfotoscameras i mean a front mount on claw mounted like the x3 on a hayabusa superbike…would low light performance and vibrations be okay? What kind of output is ok?

    • @waynosfotoscameras
      @waynosfotoscameras 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @chinmayn73 probably not, the Insta 360 1 inch is very top heavy and for this application, one of the consumer 360 cameras may be better.

    Did you shim the remus using a 0.1. That helped my overall sharpness

    • @waynosfotoscameras
      @waynosfotoscameras 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, used straight out the box. But I am starting to think about it as you can get the centre sharpness to be slightly better. 🤔

    Done a real job with these lenses, and so some real world experience. I have another video coming about these lenses. I have found some strengths and weaknesses in a job application with these lenses to consider, so subscribe so you don't miss that one. ❤

    Can you post some footage of the blazar set on the R3 in 6k ?

    • @waynosfotoscameras
      @waynosfotoscameras 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't use the 6k, or even 4k very often, and especially for these lenses, it will make zero difference due to their softness. We also have the compression of YT that doesn't favour high resolutions. I have a video on this channel comparing 4k ALLi to 1080p ALLi and you can't see the difference. Why I went back to 1080p from 4k. Complete waste of time for social media. But be careful with Sony cameras, some have a lower quality in 1080p and don't resolve the image in the same way as 4k.

    thank you for the review, but if I could suggest, the brown/orange border on the footage is quite distracting and the video would be more pleasant to observe without it. Cheers!

    Hi Wayno, thanks for showing the lenses. Which flare color are your lenses? I thought the options are blue and amber but your flares are looking white.

    • @waynosfotoscameras
      @waynosfotoscameras 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Amber, but they are very light streaks and colour. I would have preferred a stronger Amber, but subtle is probably better
