An English Country Garden Themed Floral Wreath Embroidery Tutorial
This tutorial will teach you the very basics of hand embroidery using two cottage garden floral patterns, including 3 simple stitches (back stitch, satin stitch and French knots), transferring a pattern onto your fabric, getting to grips with an embroidery hoop, and how to start and finish your stitches.
** Please be aware that erasable ink can leave a ‘ghost’ line on fabric once erased, so double check your placement before tracing your design. I would advise only using erasable ink on areas that you will cover with embroidery. **

Thank you❤
very very nice❤❤❤❤❤
Do you have a tutorial on a bigger design? Like one that will cover most of the shirt?
Unfortunately, not - sorry! The technique would be exactly the same, just larger :) x
Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much.
You're very welcome!
I'm behind the game! Not a newbie, but trying my hand on Tshirts. This is super helpful. Great for beginners but I like seeing how you handle the stabilizer. So simple. I have purchased all kinds of stupid products that I do NOT need! Thank you! :)
I'm so glad it was helpful! I'm also massively guilty of purchasing all sorts of stupid products that I don't need - I think that's essential when you're a crafter!! :)
I’ve watched dozens and dozens of embroidery videos and yours is the best yet. I appreciate how you break it down for true beginners and you don’t skip steps, so I feel like I can actually do this one! Nicely done.
Thank you so much, I'm pleased it's helpful!
Thankyou for making this tutorial, really well made and easy to follow 😊 I was wondering; Is it essential to use a stabiliser for the backside? Or can we just embroider straight onto the cotton tshirt? If so, will this cause any issues in the future after wearing/washing? Thankyou!
You can definitely embroider straight onto a cotton tee, but I find that a 100% cotton t-shirt can be a little stretchy and the stabiliser helps to prevent stretching when you put it in the hoop. The stabiliser also helps keep the embroidery 'in place' when it's washed (if that makes sense?!) If you don't have any stabiliser to hand, some basic cotton fabric will do - like an off cut from an old sheet. Anything that's thin and preferably of the same colour of the t-shirt so it doesn't show through :) xx
Thank you so much for such a detailed vid!
You are so welcome! xxx
This video is absolutely perfect. Thank you so much.
Glad you liked it! Thank you!
Very clear instructions. Thank you!
My pleasure! Thank you :)x
Great tutorial! Thank you!
You're very welcome!
No one ever shows the back! That’s my biggest fear is not having that clean enough. What kind of fabric for the handkerchief is it?
The only way to get a neat back is practice, practice, practice! Top tip for a neat back is to avoid knots as much as possible, but it's difficult as knots are difficult to wrangle. The hanky is made from 100% organic brushed cotton.
خیلی کاراتون عالیه
متشکرم
and here i was trying to stitch with all 6 strings XD
it's definitely possible, but a lot harder and messier! haha!
Beautiful
Thank you! x
Piękna łączka
Absolutely love your videos!! So clear, informative and detailed. I love how you don't just skip over information assuming things are known, but also don't drone on and on. Would love more videos of even more patterns
Thank you so much!! What wonderful feedback :) xx
Amazing 🤩
Thanks 🤗
Wonderful tutorial! Thanks you!

Thank you for this video ! You explain so well ! What brand of stabilizer do you use ?
My pleasure! Any cut-away stabilizer will work for this tutorial
@@deliciousmonstertea Thank you for your reply ! >3 I'm in France, I'll try to find something similar!
This was so helpful!!!! Thank you 😊
My pleasure! Thank you :) xx
Beautiful and well explained
Thank you!
Wait, this looks fairly easy and fun! Do you have any recommendations for the basic items to purchase? I already have a ton of the embroidery thread from making friendship bracelets (lol) but I guess I need a needle, a hoop, and a stabilizer? Is that correct?
It's definitely fun and easy :) I've got a blog about where to get the basics (deliciousmonstertea.com/blogs/blog/now-would-be-a-great-time-to-teach-yourself-embroidery), or I sell a beginners kit with everything you need (deliciousmonstertea.com/collections/embroidery-kits)
Great video for the learners; great job

Thank you for explaining the cross hatch effect! This is what I came for. Good tutorial, however the lighting needs to be brighter. I turned my screen brightness all the way up and I was still having trouble seeing.
Thank you! xx
Nice
Hi! Should we wash the thread beforehand to prevent the dye from bleeding?
If you're using thread that isn't colour fast, yes - but I always use DMC thread which doesn't run 👌
I really enjoyed this tutorial, very straightforward. Thank you!
You're very welcome! Thank you!
Thank you for the very well made and informative video. First class.
Thank you! So glad it was useful 🥰
I just brought a kit today I’m excited. This was step by step. Thank you for this. New Subscriber❤️

Thank you from Wales! xx
Thanks for the step-by-step explanation! As a total newbie who’s gonna try this for the first time, it’s very much appreciated! 😂
Thank you!
I want to do this for a gift. Should I wash this to make sure it won't bleed? I will be using DMC floss as well TIA
Sorry for the late response! DMC floss is generally very good quality and the colour shouldn't bleed :)
No worries. I know you are busy. Thank you
Thank you! This video is easy for me to understand
Glad it was helpful!
Whats the purpose of a backing?
I always find it's good to use backing fabric when embroidering any material that is stretchy - especially on t-shirts! It helps keep the embroidery nice and neat and stops the fabric being pulled taut :)
@@deliciousmonstertea what type of stabilizer do you use? Is it tight even for stretched jeans jacket?
@@Pablitaization there are lots of different types of stabilizer you can use - I usually opt for a cut-away stabilizer. For a stretchy jean jacket cut-away would work too :)
MUITO GRACIOSO.
Ima do this for a project💫
Wow ..you pulling a single thread from 6...for keep backside stitches neat. Amazing...😥no one has teached me like this..tq so much. Pls tell what type the thread is...wants to buy it.
Thank you! This is DMC stranded cotton :) xx
Tnx so much for showing the backside stitch. No one has shown the backside stitch. Can you please tell what type the thread is? It looks like a silk embroidery.
Thank you! This is DMC stranded cotton :) xx
U explain soo well. Keep going ❤️
Thank you!! xxx
Do you have a recommendation for what brand to get for the heat erasing pen?
Any "erasable" ball point pen should work fine - the ones you can get with little rubbers on the end. Frixion is my favourite brand to use :)
Hi! Is there a reason why only used two strands of threads for the stitches? Is it because of the fabric or just preference?
I usually use two strands for most projects, so it's definitely a preference of mine, but also using fewer strands makes your stitches 'neater' and less bulky. I'd recommend testing on a bit of scrap fabric with 6 strands, then 5, then 4, etc... and you can find your own preference :)
@@deliciousmonstertea thankyou so much!! Im a beginner on embroidery, i learned embroidery a few months back because i want to embroider stuffs for my nephew. This video and your answer helped me a lot. I certainly could observe that using more strands made it look bulkier and more protruding. I will definitely try will lesser strands now :)
Amazing! Happy stitching! xx
"Garlic" I WAS CRYING!!! YES YES YES!!! <3 love this! thank you! I was able to make my boyfriend's christmas gift from this video!! Thank you!
Hahaha!! Thank you so much!!!
