Just wanted to say, I stumbled on your Facebook posts, and I'm thrilled to see videos of your work! If project binky can take 6+ years on one project, I'm more than willing to watch this build for as long as it takes!
@@owenlewis1226 thank you man!! I really hope I don’t take that long, but I’m going to keep working.
One thing you could have done was dismantled the front original suspension and make a top bar out of it for the top Of the bags in the rear 4 better support
I’m half expecting the rear bags to be an issue down the line that I will need to address.
Hell YA dude you saved a junk car from going to the crusher I can tell you know something about cars I had too 72 square backs and im restoring a 67 bug as of now I'm just about finished..
Yea I would have felt pretty bad doing this to a driver.
ok but what if i eat it
I would be sad
Heck yeah brother, great reference, I hope to do the same to my 70 one day
Thank you bro!
Nice design
Thank you!
niceee
Thank you!
Nice car, deffinitly classic car that many people havent seen
We had new 70 in yellow automatic bought at the regional VW HQ in Columbus, Ohio on Interstate 270 NW. OCLC pond campus now
@@JohnWelch-n8m that’s awesome! My next project after my other squareback is a 1969 bug that my grandparents bought brand new. It’s in storage at the moment.

@@jeffhighsmith1538 straight up.
NICE WORK! I have thought about doing one also but to many projects and not enough cash. I have a 72 SQ as my current project. I looks just like your blue late model parked next to your truck project. They are really fun cars!
Thank you! Yea my blue car is my daily driver and I love that car. I have a big project that has been in my family since 1970, so I need to hurry on this one lol.
Finally! Some “spirited driving!” 😂
I can’t believe you let someone pass you! 😱🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️

Just a quick Idea for you / in the rear engine bay where you have the hatch cover over the motor // weld the bottom under bumper half to the remaining hatch door and have it swing out to the right like those old Ford Bronco's do . This will let you access the engine better and you could also hide a reinforced dune buggy engine cage under it / And if you really want to trick out the bed / Make a Foe slatted hard wood deck that hydraulically lifts up with a button on your dash .
@@markboulton4500 I have a few ideas for the tailgate, open to the side is one of them.
Wow that roof line looks spot on. Looks like a hotrod whooo!
Awesome! 😛😛👌🤙
Very cool, bro
@@jeremydoc thank you!
Oh dang that looks killer brother!
Very nice. Love the shot from the top (drone?) with the engine sound coming from the car.
@@jeremydoc thank you! Yes it’s an old DJI spark.
This video is awesome! Love the Diamond Blue 😎

your gopro SUCKS!!!!
fire but why did you get in the car so aggressively
Not sure, haha
brother
Thank you
Lovely 😍💋 💝💖❤️
Love it dude. Clear instruction and good pacing. Many tutorials go way to fast or way to slow. This had a nice feel. Do more!
Thanks man I appreciate it! Anything specific you would like to see?
Great video! But that $8.06 savings is impressive!
I bought this for my old Dom v3 and it works great for a backup or just indoor Whooping 👍🏻
Thanks for the review. I’m waiting for a new fusion module from tbs, my old one had a issue so gonna take a few weeks to get here. So I scooped one of these up from amazon for 14 bucks so I can fly for the next few weeks
worried about place? linear and circular, useless test.
uap, like I said in the video I matched the type of antenna on the goggles to what was on the aircraft linear to linear circular to circular. Did you not hear that part or am I missing your point?
I would expect the buyer gets a copy of the video.
nice build. is this your music? sounds like good 'ol 90's metal
Indeed it is, our band called Mindgrip around 96!
Nice video Brad! I’m with you on the clone frames. It generally costs relatively little to buy the originals. Perhaps I’m spoiled now, I try not to remember what I spent on Aveox brushless motors and obsolete radios(75mhz/72mhz)!
Hey Brad, I really like your idea of putting the VTX on the top. Airflow over VTX's is extremely important. As a vtx heats up, it will throttle the power output. Here is a very informative video on why cooling (airflow) is really important: th-cam.com/video/im7p-paF0v4/w-d-xo.html It's a short video that is very much worth watching. My 2" AscenT frame will be arriving tomorrow, and I'll be mounting my Eachine tx03 on the top of the stack, with as much airflow over it as possible. If moisture is a consideration for guys that would like to top mount their vtx's, just spray some conformal coating over it, and you're good to go.
It's hard to explain but the smaller radius is the front and I put the side plates on by first getting one end of the plate notched into place and then pulling the other end into place.
how did you get the side plates on and which is front??
Very nice comparison. Seems like new module is just a little bit better, not by much eh? But obviously I'd buy the new module if I didn't have any.
Hello Mark, the rx is double side taped to the top of the FC. The vtx is sandwiched between the upright plates with small stripes of double side tape to cushion and secure it. flexrc.com/2017/06/29/ascent-with-spektrum-rx-build-log/
On the build you have the Vtx on the top of the stack - is it secured with just double sided tape? Where (and how) did you mount the receiver? thanks!
Hi Jeff, I had a set from my torrent 110 so I tried them on the pico x and loved them and ordered a set of dys. They are almost too much but really nice to have that kind of punch.
Thanks for sharing. I ordered one of these just the other day. Looking forward to it. I bought an Eachine Lizard and loved the power, but it has reliability issues(random flip of death),and I wanted a better camera. This should be just the ticket. But I am curious why you chose the higher kv motors? I ordered the 6500's and don't know enough about building quads to choose one over the other. I plan to use the same props and probably fly on 3s.
just got my Ascent frame today! excited to build one of these bad boys. I ordered some Emax RS1106 6500kv motors and F3 stack, Runcam w/vtx03 and what not. This will be my first micro build so im starting on 2S first lol.
Richard E Booo! Go 3s! Joking aside, don't buy too many 2s batteries as you may be a bit too heavy for that motor kv on 2s
ya i am already ready to step up to 3s lol, i think the motors do pull too much kv and the 2s batteries last maybe 2min if im lucky. the batteries only get slightly warm and so do the motors but nothing is running hot
Thanks for catching that, yes they are 1104 7600kv dys motors.
Thank you, with the 7600kv motors it faster than all of my 5" quads it's kind of shocking. Building another one now with 6000kv.
Cool video, I just bought the frame from them, I want to throw on some 1106 6000kv Emax motors and see what she'll do, your 7500kv motors look like they pull good enough
