On your remark that during the confinement that they could read the Bible to each other, actually England was a strictly Catholic country at that time. And at that time period as well, the Bible was only written in Latin, and only the Pope, Bishops,.Cardinals, basically all members of the clergy were allowed to read the Bible, (since catholics saw the bible as God's holy word, which it is, but only available for those clergy of the holy Roman church A.K.A the catholic church). There were other books, and scriptures, psalms, ect... but any religious prints legally available, were, again, only in Latin. When Henry broke away from Rome and declared himself head of the English church in order to divorce Catherine and marry Anne Bolyn, he did allow some prints of the Bible to be avaliable to England written in English. Though he would changed his mind on that over and over again. His son, Edward the 6th, officially made England Protestant, only for Henry and Catherine's only surviving child, their daughter Mary the 1st, to return it to Catholicism during her short reign. Elizabeth the 1st made it Protestant again, where the it has remained the official English religion. Her successor, King James the 1st, is who wrote what to this day is considered the Bible written in the English language
That is a great point! Some noble ladies could read Latin, Catherine of Aragon for example, but it was very rare. Before Anne Boleyn it would have been mostly psalms and prayers. Thank you.
I'm related to the Tudors via juquetta of Luxemburg elizabeth woodville was my 16th great aunt is I believe the proper title but I look back and think of all these women an the trials they lived through I try to tell myself to be strong like they were but I find myself wondering more how they didn't get stuck in a depressed place with all the loss of the loved ones their children and husband's being killed I try to tell myself that I come from a long line of strong women but i often wonder if we weren't strong but just had no choice but to live through the pain
I absolutely love your channel. It’s now my favorite! I’m so excited I found your TH-cam!
Thank you so much <3
Alot pf people say he was a good guy cause he was ... purhaps England would have like to have the greedy and selfish Elizebeth who was the cause of all of the chaos ..none of this would have happen if she was would not have interferred with the marrages of Richard Nevilles daughter and all the other marrages of the Nobals ..she stole all the crown jewls and would have fully controled her son as she did King Edward iv everyone knew this. Her marrage was not passed through Parlement as legally it should have been and sge has no regard for them Parlement supoorted Richard because he was respossible at with the goverment of the North ..so ya many people say he was a good guy ❤
Yes, I know. Sometimes, I'm hyperbolic. Listen to the end of part two for my deepest apologies. ❤️

Great concept for a podcast, delving into past women rulers but you spent more time talking about the people surrounding Jacquetta than you do about her!
I do sometimes to that, I'm trying to put their live sin perspective to the time. Thank you for listening. <3

Have you seen "The Knight Before Christmas"? It's comparable to A Knight's Tale in terms of accuracy 😅 but specifies that it starts in 1334, in the reign of King Edward III.
I haven't, but I will thank you
