This came up in my feed. Probably because i just posted a similar video. There are some similarities. I like those runners on the bottom. You could make them double width and run these as a two-way pallet. I am working on a screened two-way pallet and you have definitely given me some ideas.
9:45 What was the purpose of drilling the two hold in the frames, other than as an experiment? Are the holes there to let the bees travel between frames more efficiently?
Alberta beekeeper as well. Great design! Thanks for taking the time to share. I've run winters with open screen bottoms. I will definitely try this. Thanks again
I live in Boston, MA area. I have my first bee hive. Do you think I should be keeping a 2-inch Starafoam on my bottom board? My second question is when you slide in the whiteboard handle stick outside. Does that create a problem with rain? I would stain the bottom board but I am afraid stain is bad for the bees. What do you think of that? Thank you so much. I really enjoyed the video.
Do you think a wire landing board would help bees defend from beetles? (I'm thinking the SHB can't hover to enter and would fall through a wire landing board, but bees loaded with nectar could land and get in.) I made a ant proof metal stand from trampoline parts on my channel...I'm learning!

fantastic demonstration, especially at the end where you show pictures of details measurements. thank you
Great job , thanks for sharing this ! I’m not sure I could take the cold temperatures !
Nice video I’m going to build one see if I like it. Thanks for sharing
Will the handle catch rain ?

Can you show us how you insulate the outside of the boxes? I too live in a very cold climate
Great design for Canadian colonies. Thanks for taking the time to share your design. Would love to see your styro sleeve wintering design, too.
Thanks from New Brunswick. You got my subscription from this well done video.
Loved it no measurement needed just size to your box. I love it great desine. Doesn't the oil run off if hives are tilted??
Thank you
Thanks for the videos. You earned my subscription today.

Oxalic acid eats screened bottom boards.
Brilliant idea will definitely be making some for my hives. 👍👍👍
Wow! I was so not expecting a micro container lifter.
OK. Poland

@@wrongfullyaccused7139 Most use 1/8" mesh, a mite won't fall threw window screen. I could only find it in 4" wide rolls at my lumber yard.
Can you please post all the measurements :)
What do the holes in the upper part of the frames accomplish?
Yes, wery smart use of 2X4:)
great accomplishment ,thanks for sharing
Awesome, thanks for taking the time to share
what size hole did you drill in the lid of the bottle?
We measured a Gatorade bottles lid and cut in that
0:40 He says it quite clearly
Lol, 1/16th inch I believe is the drinking hole size.
Very nice design. Thanks for sharing!
Do you have a link or pic of the cut sheet measurements for this?
Go to our sunshine bees Facebook page it is on there 🐝
