For years, instant search in Bubble has been a thorn. The official Algolia integration doesn’t preserve privacy rules, sorting results alphabetically is a pain, and sorting by options is impossible. On the other side of the cost spectrum, free solutions like the fuzzy search ...

For the dev/live DB name, can you try the $5 as a number. When it is a text, I think Bubble will add a quote around it. So maybe if the type is a number, it may work. 😁

This would make a great one pager! Thank you Mike and Youssef for answering these questions. Did a quick AI summary to come back to all this great insight! 💡 Hiring Process & Insights Hiring Range: They've hired between 20 to 30 developers, including freelancers. Initial Filter: They start with a Loom video to get a sense of the person's presentation skills, crucial for remote and client-facing work. Project Walkthrough: Candidates are asked to walk through something they've already done, allowing the hiring team to assess their approach and problem-solving skills. Assessment: Instead of a test project, candidates do an assessment based on an existing app they've developed. Trial Projects: A trial project with a client or as a freelancer is a common step before full-time hiring, ensuring fit and quality of work. 💡 Top Tips for Developers Presentation Skills: Strong presentation and communication skills are emphasized, as developers at Minimum Studio directly interface with clients. Proactiveness and Independence: Candidates who show a proactive approach and independence are highly valued. Understanding of Bubble: While specific Bubble skills are important, a rapid learning ability and the potential to acquire soft skills are seen as equally critical. Self-Assessment: Being able to judge and articulate your own skill level accurately is crucial for teamwork and personal development. Experience with Live Projects: Experience working on apps that are live and used by customers is highly regarded, as it shows real-world problem-solving and adaptation skills. Specialization vs. Broad Skills: While specialization can be valuable, the ability to handle a broad range of development tasks is essential due to the nature of Bubble development. 💡 Additional Insights Learning from Experience: Both soft and hard skills can be learned and improved upon over time. Experience, especially from freelancing or agency work, is invaluable. Client Interaction: The ability to manage client expectations and navigate the complexities of client communication is a significant part of the job. Pricing and Scoping: Understanding how to price your services and scope projects effectively is vital for freelance and agency work alike. Preference for Europe and Africa: Minimum Studio has a specific preference for hiring from Europe and Africa. This preference is rooted in logistical and operational efficiencies, such as time zone alignment and the ease of organizing physical meetups. In-Person Meetups: The studio organizes face-to-face meetups a few times a year. These meetups are crucial for team bonding, sharing experiences, and fostering a sense of belonging within the team. The geographical preference ensures that organizing such meetups is feasible without excessive logistical challenges.
