I collected a total of 319 stars. The last star on level 62 looks impossible to be achieved. The objective to get the red star on level 62 is to not touch treasures. However, as soon as you enter in the red tunnel (and you must enter to clear the level) a coin is automatically collected thus failing to get the red star. I tried all things (such as placing a block on the coin), with both characters but the level looks impossible. Is this a game bug?

2 years late, but did you play through this multiple times since this playthrough? I've probably beaten DOS2 around 10 times will every class combination imaginable. My absolute favorite is an entire team of undead. You can just spam poison and hurt enemies and heal yourself. I also used an undead dwarf as a druid of sorts. He was a summoner, so his stats didn't scale with his damage, so I could primary Wits and go first in every battle with a full action bar of buffs (plus class specific stuff like Soul Mate for shared buffs).
@@TenTonNuke I did not play through it again as of yet. I will be returning to it with a coop playthrough in the future. Right now I'm doing a solo run of Baldur's Gate 3 but I'll be honest with you - I think I prefer DOS2... weird eh?
@@Freddrock So do I. I've started 2 characters on BG3 but haven't beaten it yet with either. It's too open world. I'm just aimlessly wandering. And I hate having to recharge at camp after casting spells. But it looks nice. I'll probably give it one more try. I also tried Path of Exile and hated every second of it.
@@TenTonNuke i tried POE once and was done within an hour. Wasn't for me.

2:20 best strategy for this area: use the Stopwatch to freeze the enemies, since the damage is multiplied by 4!
After you defeat Dracula, the game takes you back to the beginning, but the enemies are stronger and twice faster than the first loop!
@@BRGKasumi77Main yes I remember you saying this. On stream I mentioned this at the very end. Can't wait to play the next in the series down the road :)
I watched the first video of the playthrough and there was a comment something along the lines of how this is the worst playthrough and it ain't worth watching. I kind of have gotten the gist of why that comment was made as I watched your first video but I want to confirm by watching this arc specifically and I knew I just have to agree. In spite of the sincerity of your reaction to the game, there was a lot of misses because you spend more time interacting in chat in thoroughly misplaced moments of the game than actually paying attention to the game. I understand that interaction is part of streaming, but there's a time and place to come back to those. Huge impacting moments of the story were downplayed because you actively chose to pay more attention to chitchatting. In essence, the value of "reaction" was lost. More power to you though, but I can see why despite streaming playthrough of so many great games, you have not gained rational amount of following. Which sucks, because you are a streamer who I thought is easy on both eyes and ears.
@@chukasssss thanks for the comments! I appreciate the feedback. I still absolutely loved the game and the story. I felt I got what I needed out of it and genuinely enjoyed my experience. Streaming is a lot different than just casually playing for a TH-cam audience. I totally understand what you are saying but I run my channel a lot different than most that kind of let chat flow by and then come back to chat later. I like to acknowledge people as they say things because I believe people deserve to be responded to for taking the time to even come in and watch me. I have never been about the follows and subs - twitch and TH-cam are a hobby for me that I just enjoy doing with the amazing small community that I have. Im not looking for huge growth and I don't really pay attention to the numbers. Its all just here for those that want it :) Thanks for watching the parts that you did. I really do appreciate your time.

@@Freddrock once you run out of the lives, return at the beginning of the level, and pick up the Holy Water and try to keep it. Gather many hearts ad well because latest bosses are hard to kill, especially Dracula and Grim Reaper!
3:44 from this point onward, it's 4 hits damage instead of 3. I mean, from stage 12 up to 99 , it's 4 hits!! 4 Hits = INSTANT DEATH!

@@Freddrockyeah that level is so hard
Yes, my nightmares came true. You did go to the clock level. This level is insane. Especially it matters what time the clock shows before you jump in. I think the clock is different when you jump in at 3, at 6, at 9 at I think at 12. The very first time where I got all 120 stars, the only star that I still needed was the 100 coins in the clock level. I was at 119 stars so long. But when I finally did it, it felt so good. But okay you don't stay too long in the clock level. And you get the last 3 stars in the second ice level. Nice. You ask where are all the other stars? Well there are in total of 15 worlds. Every World has 6 normal stars and 1 special star for collecting 100 coins. And all over the castle there is another 15 secret stars. 3 secret stars are all the switch palaces were you unlock the 3 caps. with the 8 red coins. All 3 Bowser stages also have 8 red coins each. And some random ones like the slide were you got 2 stars or the 3 toads that give you stars. Counting all that you end up with 120 stars. And I think you should every normal world at least once besides Course 15. The Rainbow world. I remember the last Bowser stage so well. When I was at this last fight for the first time I died so many times. I destroyed parts of my skin inside of my hand because of the constant spinning the N64 stick around. Thanks to you and this 8 parts you reminded me, why I love this game so much. It was an amazing journey through my past. Yes, it was not 100 % but I enjoyed it a lot :)
@@PsychoUndSoXD thanks so much for watching the whole thing. That amazes me. Appreciate the support .
Alright you did the 8 red coins in the blue cap area. That was good. And you good the 8 red coins in the mushroom level. And then you actually go to Course 11 which I always call the Atlantis level. One interesting thing is, when you jump in the very top of the picture, the level is completly flooded and you reach the Atlantis area. But when you just jump in the bottom part of the picture the water levels are almost zero. Course 11 is not your traditional Super Mario level. I always liked the fact with the change of the water. In a way this Level is unique. It is one of my favorites again. If you don't figured it out yet, I finished "Super Mario 64" a few times 100 % with all 120 Power Stars. On my channel I even have a 100 % Walkthrough of this game when you are interested. Or if you are actually curious about how to get all 120 stars. I also used a high definition texture pack when I did this Walkthrough. It was many years ago. The one power star with the "Express Elevator" was again a reason for me to get the strategy guide book. But the way you did it was interesting too. And yay you did found the Atlantis area. You got 1 of the 2 stars from that area. You are also very close to 70 stars. I wonder where you will get the rest of the stars. Will it be all in the big/small level or will we see the Clock level or the rainbow level? Let's see.
@@PsychoUndSoXD I'm going to check out your stuff for the stars. Amazing you are so passionate about this game.
There's a code that make all the DK Barrels removed bro. This game has 2 endings by the way. If you need help let me know. Subbed!
@@BRGKasumi77Main woah, why would someone want all the DK barrels removed?
@@Freddrock because it's a big challenge especially for speedrunners and for those who wants to play it without dying.
@@Freddrock also with that code, it makes the game much harder than before!
Okay we do have a shorter part again. The beginning skill jump to that star on the lonely mushroom was great. I told you Course 12 is more difficult and it shows. You only got 3 power stars there. And you did die a few times. There is also power star 4 in that mushroom level, that was another reason for me to get the strategy guide. You don't even show that star in the video. And yes you found the big/small level. That level always was kinda strange to me. I never really understood what I had to do as a kid. But the level itself is neat. I do like the fact that you can change the level size to big or small. But yes this level also is kinda tricky. There is the second Koopa Race too. I wonder if we will see that in the next part.
Sadly, I never found the second koopa race. That little big level confuses me to this day - I would have to look into a guide for it in the future.
Oh you do have some trouble in the ghost house level. The last 2 stars besides the 100 coin star are a little bit tricky. It is also interesting that you talk about "AC Shadows" and "Star Wars Outlawz" Both games are from Ubisoft and in the last few years Ubisoft became super woke with all there uglifying women and making sure all the women look like men or all their DEI bullshit. The black samurai which pisses everybody off. It pisses of black people and it also pisses of all the Asians. They are not even history correct. There never was a black samurai in Japan. Yasuke was a retainer and not more. I can see why you don't care about these games. And just call it what it is. Not just shady. It is wokeness. And I am sure that both of these games will be massive flops. But back to "Super Mario 64". You were in the right room. It is on the top floor the door on the right side were the trap door is. In that room you actually can do a wall jump to a higher platform with a door. That leads you to the balcony. And your memory is almost right. You need the invisibility cap. But not to jump through a window but a picture in the same room that leads to the balcony. Very cool that your chat tells you what to do and you go back and do it :) I let the comment as is. But nice, the first 5 courses are now almost done. Only 100 coins in each of the courses for secret power stars. Oh and now you go to the second snow world. This level is pretty cool. Back in the day when I had all the stars in the level I just went back in so many times. Just to get in the cannon and shoot myself up to the head. Yes the wind always blows you away but I just found that very amusing. Weird? Maybe but it was so fun to me. And I do like the fact, that the icy water actually hurts you when you are swimming in it. That was somewhat realistic and a neat touch. Sadly you did not finish Course 10 but than did go to Course 12. That was a cool level but also a little bit harder. The level you mean with big/small is Course 13. But for now that was Part 5.
Incredible that you are watching these and I love that you are such a passionate fan of the game. It really is an amazing game. That second snow level was such a pain to remember things on. Chat helped a lot.
Nice, that you finally got the metal cap. Now you have all 3 capes. And guess what? Another power star why I got the strategy guide, was the one with the 4 pillars in the desert. I never understood that as a kid. I think the trick is that you get the wing cap and land on all 4 pillars once. But the name of the star does not really explain that. At least in the German version the star says "Land on all 4 pillars" so there is that I guess. And yeah I am from Austria so that's why I always had the German version. The desert was not really kind to you :P First you solved the 4 pillar part and when the elevator stopped you jumped in the wrong direction and died. Later you get Game over because the boss was a surprise. The 8 red coins did go well but when you wanted to go back in the pyramid, you scratched your ear and died again in quick sand. This death is the epic fail in this part :) It is interesting that you did not figure out the pyramid puzzle star. I did that before I even knew the solution to the 4 pillars. In short in the pyramid are 5 lonely out of place coins you have to collect and than you get the star. And nice. In the end you do go to the ghost level. Again one of my favorites. Also the creepiest level in the game. Well not quite. The Tick Tack Trauma level haunts me stil today. I hated that one -.- But later more to that. That was Part 4 :)
@@PsychoUndSoXD I go all over the place from here. Hope you enjoy my sporadic star collecting moving forward haha
It is interesting that the actual video thumbnail says the video is 20:04 minutes long but the actual video is only 19:13 minutes. Weird. I liked the idea with the volcano. When you are in the volcano and die, the game spawns you right back in the volcano. The 2 power stars in the volcano are a little bit annyoing mostly because of the camera. And one thing I wanted to say in Part 3 where you said, the game still looks good. And I have to agree. The game is almost 30 years old and it still looks better than some newer games. One thing that Nintendo rarely does is going crazy on graphics. They focus more on gameplay and story. Yeah the games still look good but the don't go insane on 4K or something like that. I think that is a reason, why even old Nintendo games still look almost fresh and new. Ah and Course 8 the desert. That is another one of my favorites. The music is nice and there is one little oasis where I spend a lot of time because back than I found it awesome, that you are in the desert but you can basiclly bath in an oasis. So far the desert goes in your favor :)
@@PsychoUndSoXD the graphics definitely hold up and make these games easier to replay. I find most playstation one games unplayable because the polygons are so ugly now haha.
Ah the good old wall jump power star in the first snow world. It is funny. You said, you want to do all in order. You did Course/Level 1 and then switched to Course/Level 4 right away. That is not in order :P The level with the owl is Course 2. And Course 3 is the first water level. It was another epic fail when you used the owl and in the first attempt you bumped into the owl somehow :D I like the fact, that Blast the Wall Power star was so easy for you. Back in the day I had a lot of trouble finding that. Until I bought the strategy guide book, that I mentioned in the first Part of "Super Mario 64". There is this secret level where you have to get 8 red coins underwater. I know it is not really special but that level still fascinates me today. I played this level so many times because the idea, that you are in a huge room filled with water and fish and windows where you can look in the unknown. That is one of my favorite levels in this game. Oh and Course 3 is also one of my favorite levels in the game. The whole pirate beach aesthetics are very cool. And the music is so relaxing and calm. I played this level also so many times. And nicely done beating the second Bowser. But now you did a few stars of Course 7 and 1 star in Course 9. The metal cap you can find in Course 6. You totally skipped Course 5 which is the big ghost house. I hope you at least show all 15 courses. I know it is not a 100 % playthrough but at least show every course at least once. And wow the ending was great. You bullied the 3 small bullys and then you did not notice that there is the big one too. He bumped into you and landed in the lava. That was an epic fail on his part :D I am just happy to watch "Super Mario 64" :)
Thanks for all the comments! You will notice throughout all 8 parts of this playthrough that I go into almost all, if not all, the courses and get stars. I decided to just get stars here and there from wherever and I still had a blast! Hope you enjoy the rest.
Dude you made my day. "Super Mario 64" is such an amazing game. I have so many great memories with this game :) It was my first game and console too. Well before I had a gameboy. Is this what your channel will become? Retro Games non stop? I would love that. Also how is it possible that you have Achievements in "Super Mario 64"? That is a mod or is it on Steam? Anyway. I still have the original N64 and this game. And it still works too :=) I also still have the original Strategy Guide book of this game. Yeah I know. Why would you need that for a game like that :D And yes the flying cap. It was an epic fail when you got all 8 red coins but than the cap runs out :D For the N64 alone I could give you bunch of suggestions that I would like to see you play. "Yoshis Story" "Duke Nukem 64" "Pilotwings 64" "Blast Corps" "Goldeneye 007" "Perfect Dark" "Jet Force Gemini" "Donkey Kong 64" "Shadowman" "Banjo Kazooie" "Banjo Tooie" and yeah why not "Conkers Bad Fur Day" Oh yeah and of course "Zelda Ocarina of Time" "Zelda Majoras Mask". That should be it for N64 and my suggestions. "The Legend of Dragoon" also would be amazing to see. I guess you can tell that I love Retro Games. I will watch your channel more again. You deserve way more subscribers than just 355.
Lots to unpack here and I love your enthusiasm. Thank you so much for the support and comment. Firstly, Super Mario 64 is amazing. Secondly, the Achievements are actually integrated from RetroAchievements.org into a RetroArch frontend for the n64 emulator. RetroArch has RetroAchievements already integrated you just need a username and password (from setting up an account) and then set options in it. They have Achievements for thousands of Retro games and it has given these games new life for me. Third, Legend of Dragoon is my favorite JRPG of all time. I played it as a kid many times and it is still amazing. I will definitely be playing that one again down the road. Lastly, the TH-cam channel is really just a VOD station for my Twitch channel (of the same name "Freddrock"). I edit and post all my stream VODs to youtube. I have a Retro stream once a week (listed on my discord under schedules) and so far I have done all the original Donkey Kong Countrys, SM64 and TMNT: Turtles in time. Next - Castlevania. I will definitely come back to N64 for a lot of the ones you mentioned. Thanks again for being supportive!
I didn't know this game was only 46 mins long. That sucks.
@@ebogar42 I'm guessing this is a troll comment ? Not sure. There are actually 8 parts to this video series (last 3 parts coming within the week). Game is definitely not 46 minutes if you play it out normally.
@@Freddrock Well, your title is playthrough as if you played through it all.
@@ebogar42 it says "part 1" in the title
@@Freddrock Yeah, and part 2 would be you playing through the whole game again.
@@ebogar42 ah so it is just trolling. Thanks!
I just started playing this a couple days ago for the first time in 25 years with a Brawler64 controller. I also tried to use the, nonexistent, right stick to look around.
@@coozeem they should remake the game and add that feature haha
@@Freddrock the "purists" heads would explode. Would be a great move to introduce a whole new generation to these old games though.
@@coozeem yeah I do love when old games get a modern control makeover to be honest. It really can revitalize the games to new audiences. Think of how the old Resident Evil games had tank controls and they got modernized to remove that and they were so much better.
yoo that shortcut
@@fender306 there are so many!!
