For sure! I will admit that I was probably too harsh on some of the games featured in this video looking back, but I still think that Sonic Smackdown really suffered from its lack of creativity.

Yeah, I really wanted to focus on Aisha's flanderization in this video since that's the part I never really see people talking about. Though I will say that It's not as bad in S1 as it is in S2, which I will also be getting into haha.

@@ceeford9919 Yep, you pretty much hit the nail on the head with the twist villain of S2. It’s especially frustrating because you could tell there were moments where the writers wanted to paint them as the bad guy, but it ended up feeling more contrived than anything.

@@Uncommonly. It’s not so much the art style as it’s the actual animation style that I’m arguing looks different. The S1 transformations look like they were animated in a noticeably different manner than the S2 Transformations.

@@thebananachan9519 I mean, in a way World of Winx kind of did have 26 episodes if we’re factoring in the second season. Unfortunately, the second season seemed to double down on the issues of the first season imo.

Oh I can totally see why you might enjoy S2. It definitely has a different flavor compared to the first season, and a lot of interesting concepts are introduced in it. While I think the execution could have been better, I'll have more time to talk about that in the second video. Hard agree on the animation of the later seasons. Even with some of its issues, you could tell that they were trying to make it work, and in general it looked a lot cleaner in terms of art style compared to the older seasons.

@anoobdissects It's been a long time... There are other things I wanted to comment on but forgot 🤣 What's with your hatred for season three? You seem to have some mania for it, or maybe I'm wrong. When you said about Musa tomboy, I thought “fucking finally”. Fans complain that Musa lost her tomboy style in season four, and I'm like... bitch, the ball gown in season three, her Enchantix outfit, the hair extensions and seeing skirts more often, are you sure season four was responsible for taking the tomboy out of Musa 🤣? Honestly, Tecna and Aisha give me more tomboy vibes than Musa.

@@JaimeAlejandroMijaresAlfonso Regarding Season 3, I don't necessarily hate it per se, but I do feel like it's a lot more flawed than the majority of the fandom makes it out to be. I'll probably be talking more about my thoughts on S3 in an actual review video, but to quote what I said in the video, the main issue in my eyes it that it's "trying to bite off way more than it can chew with [darker and more mature] potlines that aren’t very well thought out, and don’t mesh with the show’s general vibe because of it"

@@anoobdissects I get It (more or less). It has many flaws that you realize if you analyze a little, even if I consider it the best season overall. In fact, I watched several of the seasons some time ago, and I noticed that season 3 is the one that ends the worst respect to how it starts, fighting with season 6 for the worst ending. About the mature and darker themes, I can see why you would disagree with that, but it doesn't seem like a negative thing to me. I mean, for the most part it was well executed and in theory the plot of the series should mature as it progresses. Season four tried (to no avail, unfortunately) and as of season 5 they just gave up. Honestly, I appreciate that a product tries to grow together with its audience, it makes it more special and closer.

Yep, I'd say I agree with your assessment. A decent first half and not-so-decent second half come together to create something that's overall average quality-wise.

Yeah I'm super excited to talk about the nemeses when we get there! They were definitely some of the better parts of the second season.

@@Smart1529 well i do think some good things came out of Fate, but not much. 1. Remembering that male fairies exist (seen on regular Winx only on Domino and Linphea for some reason) 2. Allowing female knights. 3. Consolidating the schools to just one since everyone spends most of their time at Alfea anyway on the main show and there's really no need for Red Fountain or Cloud Tower past season 3 since both schools are effectively useless. 4. Aisha being present from the start carried over from WOW and into the Relaunch. This is the most important thing. Aisha should have been in season 1. She's the best written character in the entire show...even better than Bloom is...because Bloom is meant to be the POV for the audience so she can do whatever whenever, but Aisha has the best arc by simply being the downside of Bloom's wish-fullfilment. Bloom is the idealistic Pre-Crisis era heroine, Aisha is the modern deconstruction and Tecna is their Nu52 counterpart.

@Superlad9494 yes i agree, i may have sounded harsh on Fate, what you said is true, there are some interesting things in Fate that either could've been implemented in Winx Club or is straight up a better creative choice compared to Winx Club. If Fate was at least a bit more faithful by giving us Tecna and putting Flora in S1 and didn't try the easy way out with Terra and her situation. And mostly importantly give us more colour with some of the settings like the school. I think I would've appreciated Fate more. I like the casting of Bloom, Stella, Aisha, Sky and Riven. Aisha is the best character here and of course Aisha wasn't created yet when working on S1 of Winx Club. It's a shame that even Fate has been cancelled and there were some promises and the creators of the show severed the relationship with Straffi and Rainbow. But hey, it's not all bad for Fate, we got the book for Season 3.

@@Smart1529 I think they were initally attempting to turn Terra into Tecna on Fate once Flora showed up because she started using more mineral magic, but that could have easily been fixed if instead of the Flora/Terra fiasco Elliot Salt had just been Tecna from the get go and just made it be Mineral magic for the new world since while a Technomagic fairy is cool...that really wouldn't work in the world of Fate. World of Winx actually gave Tecna a lot to do though I do think where WOW fell off was incorporating Baba Yaga stuff while dealing with the ongoing Peter Pan plot. WOW was built as an adaptation of Peter Pan. Moving away from the Peter Pan plot without even answering questions about how Matt even exists is a huge plot hole as well as us never seeing the World of Winx versions of John and Michael Darling or the Lost Boys like we get with Wendy, The Jolly Roger's crew Captain Hook, Tiger Lily and Tinkerbell

You're definitely on the mark with this one! Though I would argue that probably another contributing factor to the low budget of the later seasons was the terrible mismanagement of money in some of the earlier nick era seasons. There was no need to have both 2D and 3D in the same season for 5 and 6, and as you said Mystery of the Abyss was a financial flop that absolutely did not need to exist. Things like those probably hurt the franchise's budget a lot more than it helped. Either way, I hope the truckload of money they got from Fate is getting put to good use this time around with the reboot.

@@anoobdissects The only reason we got that stupid 2D and 3D nonsense is because nickelodeon wanted to whole series to be 3D but rainbow ultimately had to come to a compromise otherwise nick would drop the show which is kinda ironic because nickelodeon still dropped it regardless in 2014 leading to the massive budget cuts that affected the show and also rainbows other properties around that time also took Winx club's already struggling budget and sliced it in half even more with Maggie and Bianca, & regal academy

I have some ideas on what I would do differently and I definitely plan on sharing them at some point, so I’d say my hypothetical rewrite of World of Winx would either be told at some point during my (upcoming) main Winx Retrospective series or in another separate video.

Actually there is a theory about Flora and why we only see glimpses of a different Flora. The theory states that in the past Flora was a very outgoing person and was beyond thrilled on discovering her power. She used it every day. But one fateful day she lost control and critically injured Melie. After finding out that her sister was going to pull through she became frightened of her power. To make sure that she doesn’t ever lose control again she becomes shy a timid. She does this for a while until her act becomes her. The Winx club was helping her come to terms with her trauma of almost killing her sister. This is also why she is very protective of her sister and we get to see a violent Flora

​@@eddog6666I mean it's possible, but it could also be that Miele has a disability and Flora treats Severe Neurodivergence and Mild Neurodivergence as the same thing...and based on season 8...Miele being a Female Low Support Autistic makes way more sense.

Sophix isn't really a nature transformation though. It's a transformation about wisdom. The problem with the later seasons is that after Harmonix, there's no real training to use the form and challenge for the Winx to attempt to overcome. Butterflix could have been a great lesson in evasive manuevers and defense, but it didn't quite work as well as it could. I also see there's some issues with the special spells because there's not really much in the way of defense applications that work for Tecna here compared to the other five. Virtual Flow doesn't really do much other than piggy back on Stella's Flux of Light as a sort of amplifier. Stella's Flux of Light is actually a good defense strategy showing "why you better have your shades when dealing with her" as she once put it for her "I'm Mad Bloom" state. You don't want to see her "I'm Disturbed Flora" mode...actually you don't even want to see Disturbed Flora from anyone...especially Flora herself (being the equivalent of Mother Nature and you never disturb Mother Nature...ever.) Musa, Flora and Aisha all have three different types of "calm down" abilities. Bloom's Ma-Ti because her power is heart (even if it looks like fireballs most of the time, Faragonda explained in season 2 that it's actually Flame of Life or "Heart" for short) Tecna doesn't really have anything useful here and that could have been a good arc for her to deal with dealing with her opposite like Bloom has to when heart can't work too well in places of hate (i.e. undersea on Earth since most, but not all people treat it like a giant trashcan), but the writers don't know how to write anyone except Bloom and Aisha...and Aisha is only given the spotlight when the audience begs for it after season 2. (As season 2 is her season to begin with)
