if you increase the transients and then take them away, what is the difference to doing nothing at all?

Since i came back alot here to double check the mastering chain i decided to write down his mastering chain, maybe it helps others aswell :) -Compressor (slow attack to let the transients through) -EQ (Smiley :)) -Tape (Simulation) (For letting the transients through even more) -Clipper (OVC -128) -Limiter 1 (not more than 2Db) -Limter 2 (not more than 2Db)

I'm so confused by this does he have essentially two basslines playing ??? One with that acid sound which is layered and then another one with its own notes ? So he's basically playing two separate sub basses at once ?? Isn't that muddling the song ??

He is absolutly right with Abeltons Operator ! But you can layer your moog as overtone aswell - for that the moog stuff is top. Its even better with LFO tool or Shaperbox set to 4/4 to automate bass volume.

I really admire robert babicz a lot. This tutorial however was a bit of a pain to watch and i couldn`t get to the end. To much stuttering and trying to find words and the audio quality and latency of the computer screen did the rest. Maybe a clip on mic would also been good so that he doesn`t need to hold it in his hand all the time.

Interesting thoughts and tips; thank you Robert. Regarding the phase shifts that EQs implement - aside from the linearphase EQs, at least on paper they are supposed to NOT create any phase shift... Pretty much all of the famous hardware EQs like Pultecs, GMLs, Neve 1073s and whatnot do create massive phaseshift and that's a major part of the results we all like. One thing regarding the audio quality of this video. That is awful tbh. Putting Robert's voice in the middle and then use some dynamic processing plus a denoiser would have made a huge difference. It is what it is, but this channel is called "...Audio Academy". #justsaying

Hi Hans , Thanks for your feedback. We were only guests for this event and didn't have much control over the situation. The video's purpose is to serve as a learning tool for those who couldn't make it to the physical seminars. We will be hosting our own seminars on the 6th of August and we will make sure that the quality will be superior to this one. If you are living in Malta we invite you to the event and the after-party in Liquid Club.

Besten Dank!
