Forehand is more driven with the arm, whereas backhand has more shoulders and torso rotation. I have the same problem

0:36 freeze it there just before contact. you will see your upper body has not uncoiled towards the net. it’s still facing top side on. as another person said, currently on your forehand you’re using almost all arm. on your backhand you are using the rest of your body much better

i will make videos on this in the future. Having studied the aesthetics of tennis technique for over a decade i have the eye to spot technical flaws and what makes a good vs bad forehand/backhand. The main reason is twofold - you have the luxury of doing a big windup on the backhand. Many good players even pro players wind up with rackets going behind their back. However on the forehand it’s very suboptimal to do this. - On the backhand you are actually getting decent extension and hitting through the shot. the same cannot be said for your forehand. You are hardly rotating your hips and shoulders through the shot on your forehand. your body looks like it’s prevented from fully uncoiling. One more huge thing is that if you freeze frame your forehand and look a couple frames before contact you will see your racket face is tilted open. if you look at any pro it will be either neutral tilt or slightly closed. Can i include you in a video?

you need to open up your chest/hips so that if you took a freeze frame of when you hit the ball, your racket, hips, and chest should all be parallel to each other and to the direction you want the ball to go. compare the frame of your backhand to forehand at point of contact. backhand chest/hips/racket face are not quite forward but theyre all opened up and facing forward. forehand chest/hips are lagging behind the speed of your racket arm so that youre swinging across your chest using only your arm muscles. swinging with just the arm leads to inconsistency because there's no set position of where your racket is pointing at the moment of contact with the ball. personal tips - pose as a waiter holding a waiter's tray, right arm somewhere around a 45 degree angle from you body and your elbow close to but not pinned to your body. dip your right forearm down and tilt a tiny bit to the right. now instead of a waiters tray, grip like youre holding your racket, with the same wrist bend, and that's more or less what should be a freeze photo of you at the moment you hit a ball. also note the more extreme wrist bend compared to you in the video. if compared to a clock face, it should feel like brushing from 3/4 to 11, rather than 2 to 11. this is kinda necessary because this locks your wrist joint such that if youre grip is correct, your shoulders, your hips and your racket face are all more or less pointing in the same direction you want the ball to go. so you go from low to high, aggressively brush from 3'oclock to 11 at the point of contact, and then follow through over your shoulder or above your head like a lasso. so now the trick is getting to that final position on the hit. instead of starting the hit off with your right arm accelerating first, start it off by throwing your left side back. make the same waiter's pose on the left side, and like youre casually tossing some salt behind you, accelerate your left forearm and shoulder back. like a whip or a body roll, this will open your chest and hips and force your right arm to accelerate forward because it's joint locked at the shoulder and elbow. this isnt actually the correct method, but it's an important beginner's cue towards keeping the chest open and learning mechanics of core tension. it should feel something like 10/30/60% in terms of where you feel acceleration/tension in terms of left/body/right, but they all should happen simultaneously. good recco is to watch pro forehands like federer in slow mo, you'll see the racket hand whip fast first, but the opposite shoulder will be accelerating back as well, keeping an open chest.

The main thing to me is the contact point. On the forehand side it's cramped almost reaching behind you. You need to contact the ball out in front of you. Contact point on the backhand is good

I'm not a tennis coach but on 0:36 and 0:46 and 0.5 speed it feels like you're hitting with open racket. Maybe try to play with a grip, this can help you get top spin(at least a bit) which will lead to better control. Good luck

The answer is in this video itself. Look what is the swing path of two handed backhand and compare it to the forehand. The forehand is shorter and less round. Fist you need to change the orientation of your raquet face that is too open. It should be slightly closed on ball contact. Second you need to engage your body in the shot. Note how on the backhand you turn your shoulder while hitting and you stay lateral in the forehand. if you hit with your shoulder facing the net you'll have a different mechanic and a racket face orientation. Third, you should lower the racket before hitting (search for "racket drop"). Forth don't make a short swing collapsing the angle of the wrist. Maintain it the same until contact. You tend to loose the position to push the ball. Also, if you don't have a known model on what to do it's very difficult to progress. Instead of PUSHING the ball in the other court, with a minimal swing oriented to the left side, try to PULL the grip in front and aim with your arm to the right net pole.

Your backhand swing follow through ends high with little deceleration. Your forehand swing follow through ends below your shoulder. My tip would be to follow through above your shoulder. Look at any video's of professional player and you can see that their swing ends on the opposite shoulder.

ur acclerating with your wrist instead of following through with your entire arm on your forehand. Also you need more of a down to up motion on your swing.

Have experienced this problem posting cover songs before? One of mine even got tagged with a copyright strike which is bad if you receive 3 in a 90 day period…. Could result in your/my TH-cam channel being taken down and suspended indefinitely…. Apparently we’re supposed to somehow obtain permission to post covers of material that belongs to other people even if you disclaim any credit and say you’re just doing it for fun… not seeking any monetary gains. I don’t know how permission is obtained yet, but if you have any insight on this I’d appreciate it! I love doing covers, but don’t want any trouble….
