raised in the flatlands of Mississippi, ANY mountain is a rarity to me. Most fascinated with our cog train up 5000 foot + Mt. Rigi.

There are words and sayings that we wouldn't have- or if we did they wouldn't make much sense- or most of us wouldn't know what they meant- except for their association with Christmas.
The Mouse Before Christmas

Written by Opie Cooper. Narrated by Walt Grayson. Animation by a friend of Opie who owed him one. But I don't know who. I'll correct this if I found out. This is a perennial element of our annual Christmas show on WJTV- "A Mississippi Carol."

OMG! Im from Columbus. I know the guy who was in on inventing this story back in the late 70s/early 80s. If anybody is from Columbus & you remember a guy who used to drive an old herse it was him & his crew who started 3 legged lady road myth. His name was Scott Wilson i think.
I'm originally from West Point and I lived in columbus for a long time and I have lots of family and friends over there. I have heard a bunch of ghost stories about columbus and lowndes county
The smallest town in Louisiana is "Mound", across the Mississippi river from Vicksburg. Population - 15. My buddies mom is the Mayor.🤩
Mr. Grayson is the best storyteller in the world. A Mississippi treasure❤
In 1950 lived within one city block of this park. As kids we would play in the park and find relica's all over the place.
This was my mama's favorite! 😢
I re-wired that draw bridge in Satartia some 20 years ago.
Elvis said later guitar is his best friend.. amazing 👏
small towns had and still does have one thing going for them cycling hot spots think about it small towns are close enough for bicycle touring they can stop and rest refill water bottles explore the area to many Americans think like their driving and miss this economic boom
I've been through Satartia many many times it is in the territory I worked it's areally pretty town .
Here’s a few things in dead set on in belief from experiences: Spirits (phantoms, ghosts etc), Fae (or some type of woodland creatures), skinwalker (those shits scare me and I think I’ve seen one), and last I don’t know what their called but those demon things that always stalk you day and night rain or shine and are supposed to convey a message to you an omen of something to come.
Love this, Walt. You did magnificently. How is David?
Oh neat
Sadly he passed away on November 3rd. He was practically our neighbor,
Loved it!
This is so creative ❤
Knowing many languages is a valuable asset. Hats off to your parents for their insight when they enrolled you in Vietnamese language school.
WOW!!! Sounds exactly like how my family escaped communism in Vietnam. Thank you, kind Americans for opening up both your hearts and doors for my people to live.
Yes, Biloxi, ms
OMG… her thick accent from the south.
As long as you can understand her easily, can't you? LOL
@@dnguyen787 relax .. it’s a great compliment. That she’s so American. Not like most people still have Vietnamese accent
@@user-lf3hh1wv9vc Cool! 🙂
Real struggles that my parents went through during the Vietnam War they were also boat people trying to escape to give my siblings and myself a better life in Canada. Sometimes we forget how good we have it here and our day to day struggles do not compare to poverty in countries like Vietnam or the Philippines.
There’s also a sign to Satartia briefly seen in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou
One of my great great grandfathers was killed at Vicksburg. Fortunately, he had kids before he joined the Confederate Army, or else I wouldn't be here.
Thanx 😂
Why are the slaves that were used and abused here not represented at this Museum? Why is there no informetion about the homeowner being a slave owner?
I have no idea why this appeared in my recommended videos, but it was a good video. 10/10
We always played on these at nights when we were teens. But back then the ones at Winterville were covered with trees.
Beautiful video! Love your narrative. My Delta!
How interesting!
There are lots of lapidary worthy rocks in Mississippi including carnelian , agates and a spectacular conglomerate that cuts stunning stones.
Nice video and well made. We loved Vicksburg!
So awesome- I love the camera work, effects and storytelling! Thank you. I have my own story about that Andrew Glass room and the grounds. I feel like Mc Raven is definitely haunted :D
My cousins friends had an experience with the three legged woman in Columbus.
I was there today and the doll in the crib moved 4 times
This is good! You should make this a series
Sunflower seeds look like fireflies 🤯😂
You should do more videos like this, i love these hometown scary stories
Vicksburg did not celebrate July 4 holiday for decades after the civil war.
Love this❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
