Yes, there are many beautiful Archaeological sites in Algeria and perhaps one day we'll be lucky enough to get to visit more than the two sites we managed to see.

@@zedpics We have traveled to some 50 countries and visited many Archaeological sites and what we saw in Algeria is among the best that we have seen. As a result it should be one of the top tourist destinations in the world but it isn't and a wonder why.

The best archéologic sites are Timgad, Djemila and Tipaza .

We would have liked to have gone there, it certainly looks wonderful. But we were traveling from Annaba or Bejaia. Timgad is 11 round trip from Bejaia and 9 hours from Annaba. Too far for a day trip. Next time we'll do a road trip and visit there.

@@chrismanford7758 Hhhhh you made me laugh cuz I'm originally from Batna (Capital of the Aures mountain where Berber people live) .. Batna is close to Sétif city and close to Constantine ) Batna is just 3 hr and half drive from Annaba .

@@djamelbouch3670 As a tourist we don't have the benefit of local knowledge so we usually rely on Google and that is where my times came from. It has Annaba to Batna via N20 & N3 at 4hr 26min (9 hours round trip) but it will depend on the traffic conditions and how fast you drive.

Algeria is huge country you need lot and lot of time to visit all archaeological places 😃

I’m glad you enjoyed the video. There are dozens of Kasbahs in Morocco. The one in the video, de Teloute, is not on the tourist route and was recommended by our driver/guide. It’s beauty was a huge surprise for us, given the state of the surrounding buildings.

Sie scheint immer besser darin zu werden, ihren Bildern Emotionen hinzuzufügen. Wir wollten den Touristenrouten entfliehen und unser Führer war sehr zuvorkommend. Obwohl es traurig war, das Ausmaß der Dürre an manchen Orten zu sehen. Gemeinschaften, die seit über tausend Jahren von der Landwirtschaft leben, kämpfen nun ums Überleben. Das ist wahrscheinlich die größte Veränderung im Vergleich zu vor 15 Jahren, als Sie dorthin gereist sind.

Euer Teamwork ergibt eine gute Ergänzung! Ich bin ebenfalls ganz glücklich, dass Wolfgang den Part des Sprechers meiner Texte übernommen hat. Ich könnte das nicht so wohlklingend wie er. Die letzten Tage waren bei uns ungewöhnlich heiß, doch heute Nacht hat es Gott sei Dank viel geregnet und damit ist es auch etwas kühler. Herzliche Grüße aus München

Many thanks for that Paula. No, our guide hadn't pointed that out: very interesting. Splash seemed to have a resident leopard which, as you see in the video, we were able to photograph close-up. Our safari experience did make us appreciate animals more, it brought us closer to them. Not in the physical sense although it also did that also, but as a fellow species...Difficult to explain.

@@chrismanford7758 You’re very welcome, Chris. No explanation necessary. I know how you feel regarding “brought us closer to them.” We need to be reminded when we are faced with such amazing animals that as Homo sapiens, we being the highest primate on the totem pole, are connected to animals in so many ways. An example: did your guide tell you that giraffes have seven vertebrae and so do we humans. I feel a peace in my heart and soul every time I’m in Africa with the wildlife. I feel like I’ve come home when I’m in Africa. I live in a house in America but my home is in the African bush.

The camp is excellent, well organised with good food. We visited four camps in total during our trip but saw most wild-life at Splash. We chose different camps for the different experiences that they offered. The most memorable was Hwange Bush which was the only camp to offer a proper walking safari. We wanted to experience the animals without the safety of the vehicle. Meeting a pride of lions or a heard of elephants when you are on foot is memorable!

I' m glad you enjoyed the video. As you see we certainly saw a lot of wildlife at this camp. We also spent time at San Camp on the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans which was quite an experience. To enjoy the wildlife up close and personal we did a walking safari at Hwange Bush. This was a different experience to being in a vehicle and a bit scary at times.

Keep taking the Medication - it will work eventually.

We traveled through Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran with Silk Road Adventures (www.silkroad.co.nz/). They organized everything hotels, travel and local guides in each country. Very easy and stress-free way to travel.

I hope you enjoyed the video. To answer your question. Most of the animals see the vehicle as a large noisy object rather than a container for food (i.e. people). Many of the animals live in the park and see the vehicles every day so they also get used to them and don’t see them as a threat. Therefore, providing you stay in the vehicle you are quite safe. The only time this didn’t work for us was when an elephant wanted to charge the vehicle, but our guide shouted at the animal and told it not to be so silly and it walked away. He said the elephants in that park were frightened of people so shouting at it let it know that we were people. We also went on a walking safari and at that can be frightening because you don’t have a vehicle to shelter in and you are seen as food but you also have a guide who is armed and as a last resort will shoot an animal if your life is threatened. The guides know the animals and where they will be at a certain time of the day and are there to make your safari experience a safe and memorable experience. For us it was a ‘once in a life-time’ experience that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.

Wir hatten nicht erwartet, sie streicheln zu können. Die Bambusstangen waren nützlich, um das Gleichgewicht zu halten, wenn sie gegen Sie stießen. Ja, das Zentralplateau (Mt. Tongariro & Mt. Ruapehu) ist ein vulkanisches Gebiet und die Gleise werden alle paar Jahre geschlossen, während die vulkanische Aktivität zu groß ist. Das Skigebiet auf Ruapehu ist seit einiger Zeit ruhig und bietet den hübschen Alpenpflanzen die Möglichkeit, an den unteren Hängen zu wachsen. Wir dachten zunächst, die weißen Flecken seien Schnee, bis wir näher kamen und erkannten, dass es sich um Pflanzen handelte. Aufgrund von COVID hatten wir in Auckland vier Sperren. Unternehmen in den Bereichen Tourismus und Gastgewerbe sind finanziell stark betroffen, obwohl sie während der Sperrzeiten finanzielle Unterstützung erhalten konnten. Abgesehen davon, dass wir im öffentlichen Verkehr eine Maske tragen müssen, können wir im Moment „normal“ leben. Auslandsreisen gab es jedoch seit dem Ausbruch nicht mehr. Die Quarantänebeschränkungen zwischen Neuseeland und Australien wurden nun aufgehoben, sodass die Reisen zwischen den beiden Ländern wieder beginnen. Wir mussten die drei Reisen, die wir für 2020 und 2021 geplant hatten, absagen, haben jedoch zwei Reisen für Anfang 2022 gebucht und hoffen, dass sie fortgesetzt werden, obwohl es keine Garantie dafür gibt.
