How can we fix our health care? Copy Sweden!
มุมมอง 12Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Canada has a uniquely poor health care system. Name another developed country, and it probably delivers care in a better, faster, more efficient way. One of those countries is Sweden. SecondStreet.org's Paula Iturri sat down with Gustaf Drougge, a Swedish health care expert, to discuss how they run their system differently than Canada and how these differences lead to better outcomes.
Australian CAN'T BELIEVE Canada's broken health care
มุมมอง 6Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Some Canadians enjoy feeling a sense of pride in our universal health care system. Unfortunately, the system is failing in many ways. But there are plenty of other countries with far better universal health care systems. One of them is Australia. SecondStreet.org was joined by Terry Barnes, an Australian health policy expert, to discuss the differences between the two countries and why Australi...
Canada and Cuba have THIS in common?

Generally speaking, you don't really want to run your country in a similar way to the few remaining Communist regimes in the world. But Canada has one big policy in common with Cuba. SecondStreet.org's Paula Iturri investigates.

You might want to research WRH and racism. The white person is always right. This hospital needs to be investigated.
every socialism country was working till the us the west nato and g7 decided to sanction them and topple their economy use all of forms of tactics to make life hard for the citizens then blame it under the guise of ‘socialism’ if capitalism is so good why do places end up worse when the us enters remember libya? where is libya today? exactly ppl say north korea is poor cus of kim jung un and he’s a dictator and all stuff nah. they’re poor cus of the us sanctions same it cuba same with venezuela why is africa poor? why is india poor? because of the west you stole their resources and took them to your land and then disguise their misfortune under the illusion of ‘corruption’ the US isn’t spending all that tax payers money on weapons for no reason
western propaganda.
Oh my god. This bullshit is coming to Canada now?
It's Alberta, what else do you think they'd do. It's pretty awful. Way to take funds away from the already worsening public schools... :(
Canadian health care system is world rebound for costing a fortune and failing on an epic scale at providing health care.
Wow, this system is a mess.
Beyond words...
He wants to keep his penis and get a fake vagina! Why? So he can go fluck himself. What the hell is wrong with our government????
I bet it's Trudeau that's going for that surgery
For Air Fare ceck with the airline for there mercy misdion flights The Kinsmen were also a great help to us.
In 1999, we were fortunate to be able to to Rochester, MN Mayo Clinic on the governments dime. No one old diagnose the problem my husband was having with his heart. He had spent time in Regina London ON, Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Calgary. Non had and answers, some did damage. Finally a small light at the Mayo Clijc a doctor doing research in what sounded to be similar to my husband's problem. Saskatchewan Health paid for the visit and Canada Air paid for the flight there. Unfortunately the answer was, "we know what the problem is, but we can do nothing about it". 26 years of trying to control symptoms and swallowing pain medications. But it, as they said, it did not kill him.
this is so wrong. Let him pay for his own fake vagina. either that or pay for his mental health stay.
I had a young friend die in the hospital while waiting to be seen by a doctor! She got pneumonia after she got a flu shot here in edmonton!
So maybe all new foreigners flocking to Canada, and ppl on welfare & AISH that use the system more than the average canadian thats been here long term. Time to change the system.
It works both ways. For example, the NHS in Northern Ireland sends children for heart surgery to Dublin hospitals where there are more specialists and better facilities for care.
"people dying while waiting for cataract surgery". Lol! That's a complete fabrication. Look closer, they are taking about heart surgeries and cancer diagnosis. You don't die from cloudy eyes.

Canada is now a woke totalitarian state, that other countries look at as an example of what happens when you listen to far left activists and implement their buffoonery.
I’m not surprised I remember when Cathleen wyn was in office the school took us on a similar excursion. The school told us it was a a mini festival there was gonna be food and street magicians. That was true But then they gave us all mini billboards and had us chanting about keeping indoor locations smoke free This was also the catholic district school board
This is all bullshit
This is a parody channel, right?
Recently, there was a grade school here in central Canada that had a gay pride parade wvery friday. Someone, please tell me why they're teaching prepubescent children about sexual orientation. Im just glad my kids graduated before this woke b.s. gained momentum.
Every province should be looking after their national parks.
While DemocRATs smeared Trump with the Russia Hoax, Biden cut off American oil exploration which drove up the price of oil financing Putins' invasion of Ukraine
There is no health care in Canada.
Crazy people are running the show in Canada and a five year old could probably point that out.
Soviet stores were better
You want to fix Heath care, stop taking any advice from Lefty's! Lefty's should never be asked for any input, Dr John money is a perfect example of what happens when you ask a Lefty! The guy is a lunatic praised as a genius! Not the happy story the liberals want people to hear about, probably why you don't hear about it!
Do you think this is Russia trying to separate Canadians with ai technology 🤔
Why, so the UCP can let China build a coal mine there? Nah, if we want a provincial park, we can make one. In fact, we have several, just as poorly managed and underfunded as anything else that our provincial governments for the last 50 years have failed at.
I think each province should be responsible for its own parks and national parks it should be a provincial responsibility. The federal government should have nothing to do with parks
Lol Danielle Smith cut funding for emergency reponders including fire fighters and you want to give her more control??
Exactly right!! But so Few people deal in truth now!
I can't even begin to describe how much I detest your organization. All you want is to make the world worse for regular people in the name of imagined "efficiency".
China is majorly Capitalist with some regulations.
Normally when we begin these things it is with an understanding of the root problem. This is offering solutions but what is the root problem? And when we speak "outcomes" - is the number of knee replacements the outcome? Sounds like just trying to pump a bunch of interventions out of the Maple Leaf factory. Activity Based Costing has been done in industrial processes since about forever. But to do so you need to design a process - maybe that's the root problem in hospitals? Their processes are too cumbersome, cost too much, the quality isn't there, who knows? I don't like this piece because I am being fed something pretty specific by individuals who may not have my interests at heart. A VC running the show makes me wary. What are the outcomes we seek, and how do we measure these?
My guess is the staff are stealing money
Activity-based funding - I have an honest question: - This incentivizes volume, but not quality. How do you mitigate unnecessary surgeries being performed to boost budget? How about quality? Wouldn't it be to the hospital's advantage to have surgical complications that require more surgeries? While I agree that block funding is ineffective and results in top heavy healthcare administration that does little to benefit patients, I am curious about what measures are in place to prevent misuse of activity-based funding.
This reminds me of the education system in Canada. If the $ would follow the child, outcomes would improve exponentially.
Yeah for sure! We should let people down on their luck and hopelessly addicted to hard drugs suffer unclean methods of delivery, and take away their prescription opiates that help ween them off of hard drugs while we let big companies keep us addicted to under-researched, addictive products that are appealing and easily accessible to children!
Smart guy, wish we have him as Prime Minister
Other countries without universal healthcare makes business out of people's sickness. Cost is twice the amount.
You can access private healthcare , but don’t ask OHIP to pay part of it. Which is what most of these organizations are looking for. The whole private healthcare lobbyists are misleading.
You know why she was singing?! Cause she was high on something 😅😂😂😂
OK! So these people are going to a PRIVATE hospital, it's clearly marked, how does that work? The government is paying for us to get a surgery in a private hospital it sounds suspicious 🤔, or do we have to have a private health insurance? Thanks for responding to me, cause my husband was on a waiting list for 21 years in here Australia 🇦🇺, now I'm taking him overseas
Hi Fiona, the patients pay for surgery, then are reimbursed by the Irish government. I'm unsure whether Australia has a similar program, but it would likely be worth looking into! -Dom
@SecondStreetOrg thanks 😊
If they had the money to afford reimbursing the health care costs of the people who went to the US for treatment in the first place, we wouldn’t be having these long waiting lines. The main issue with health care in Canada is funding. They cut so many people and ressources off to be able to afford it (which they still don’t, they are in huge deficit). Doctors aren’t staying because the pay is low, and those who do are facing a huge influx of patients their colleagues who quit left them with. They recently told us to brace ourselves with the increased amount of patients due to aging population, WHILE doing a staff cut because we are billions over budget. Maybe this would have been a solution if Canada was located in Europe. But with the US where the cost of even the most basic of treatment is through the roof? lol.
I live in London, it is in decay, badly. I have seen so much open drug use Downtown it is shocking. Needles, smoking off foils, meth pipes, you name it
Except healthcare is provincial. And this video is propaganda. It’s not a “Canada” issue. It’s the parties leading the provinces.
What?
Who cares We have our own problems.
We can just reprograme car computers to accept methanol in 20 minutes.
