Very thoughtful and interesting question, thank you. I still, (since this video) have only turned the elektron machines on a handful of times. If I ever wanted to make a track that's repeatable then yeah I think it would be the rytm or monomachine but currently I love making improvised electronica, it makes me feel happy in a way that the elektron machines don't. They drain my creativity rather than inspire me.

I mostly use the perkons in a live setting

Yeah, I intend to use it for sound design entirely. The FX on it are unreal and if I want to jam then yeah I'll use it occasionally but perkons hd-01 is still my most used machine in my studio oh and the soma cosmos.

Yeah tbh if I had the perkons before the pulsar 23 then I might not have bought the pulsar but saying that the pulsar made me fall in love with making music again there and then

Yeah the Lyra 8 and cosmos definitely have minds of their own. I love them both. I could probably love without the Lyra 8 tho but cosmos not so much. Tbh if I get a new bit of gear it goes straight into the cosmos. For making techno I don't suggest either of them.

For ambient they are perfect but ... Expensive

@@KeithDuncanSound Will do! It looks like it'll be a bit of an animal to tame... I enjoy that in a synth though! Plan is that I've got one of the older Elektron Analog Fours which can put out hz/v CV so if I want to vaguely stay in pitch I can do that patching into the OSCs from the A4 and use the leploop env for their own brand of insanity but keep the pitch correct. That being said, it might actually be way more fun to let the leploop do whatever insanity it can and try to get everything else in line with it.

@@ewanmatheson4235 personally I would learn to use the unit on its own first, realise it's limits and capabilities then go from there

@@KeithDuncanSound well I've had the Leploop for a couple of days now. After two hours I managed to get some lines out of it that sounded quite cool. Only thing I'm finding, is the output on yours really quiet? I'm finding compared to every other synth I have I need to boost gain significantly and there is a lot of noise floor as a result?

Yeah you just need an ear for it time and patience. I actually don't own one of these, this was borrowed from a friend of mine. My favourite thing about it is the FX section with the cross modulated LFO section. I have been looking into getting just the FX and making a modular case with just that in it
