If the cushioning is not flat, definitely, yes! I am assuming that you wish to run a marathon, and you will not sprint throughout. In that case, other shoes might be better. Personally, I choose comfort over performance for marathons because I am not a fast runner (my best time was 3:42).

I wear Injinji socks (ultra) and my feet still slide with every downhill. However I managed to reduce the volume by adding another insole and I wear Floky T Trail which have silicone and that sorted out my issue. And 120$ is a very good price for it. Unfortunately we don't get those prices for Topo in Europe.

My feeling is Topo Athletic. Overall it seems to hold on better than Altra (upper definetly). So far the outsole of Altra is still intact but it is too early to draw conclusions. If you wish ask again in a month, by then I will have over 200km in the Timp 5.

I am pinning your comment because you tested the shoes in conditions that I will not have the opportunity to test. The cushioning in the shoe is it's best asset definetly, super comfortable. I would be happy to have the toe box of the Olympus and the rest of the Trabuco Max 2.

I did not buy this version. However the 2nd version was similar and yes cushioning feels like that if a road shoe. The 2nd version took around 15km to break in, afterwards it became very soft

True. Most likely it will be available around September in Europe. The only downside is the price because it will cost around 210€

@@the-amateur-runner-mt At TRE, the rep said the price in the U.S. would be $165, which is almost the same as the current version. It's also in line with other premium trainers, like the Speed 4, Boston 12, etc.

@@kuriosites you are right but believe me for some reason in EU the price is 210 euro. The Boston 12 is 160 euro, but speed is around 200 euro too.

@@Kiu815 I understand your point and I agree with you. It's different going to a country for vacation and when you are living in it . The advantage is that when you wish you can enjoy them (unless they are closed for winter).

@@the-amateur-runner-mt For me, the mountains and the countryside are the norm. And so I have never seen the sea and the city, I do not know any other life except the mountains.
