Elizabeth's flute playing is so incredible and her sound so incredibly rich and full. What a terrific performance by all three players.

1,300 views at this moment and NO COMMENTS. Is no one actually listening. The performance is, of course, fine but it should be done again. The piano is out-of-tune and why do we not hear individual instrumental sonorities or nuances? Why do the performers sound so far away with microphones shoved up their, F hole, bell and under the hood? It is truly a tragedy that finely trained and experienced musicians are not trained in audio and why do they use some guy to record them that is not trained in signal theory? Enough said...just do it again for the listener's artistic enrichment: For the respect of Brahms!
I don't know about the piano tuning but this was not recorded by the BSO but by an audience member who doesn't get the sound picked up by the mics. I am guessing a phone or camera with not the greatest mic. I don't mind seeing it posted (even though it's strictly forbidden to record any BSO or Chamber Players performance) but yes it's probably not your TH-cam-ready product that you are used to. The BSO Now platform had a recording of this same piece done 2 years ago by the BSO sound engineers, but I don't think there is access to it now except a small trailer clip on TH-cam.

Seems like a bit of a Stravinsky rip-off, but Igor was the man in Paris in those days. It would be hard not to fall into Stravinskyism.. Fine playing however. It is good to hear Virgil's music, esp. the early pieces.
