Whats funny is these were the cards that i started with when i was a kid. There were still a good about of WOTC cards but seeing these artworks bring be back to being 7 years old ripping open packs my grandma would get me

I remember when i was kid... i switched from pokemon to yugioh because i hated getting energy and trainer cards... you got more art with yugioh. The magic and trap cards were just more interesting.

SO! I specifically remember getting Ruby and being so hyped about getting my SP and just being so happy to have Ruby that I didn't care there was no second region. Fair trade for young me.

I thought the lowest point was the gen 5 era?

I sold my Treecko star for good money. Glad I kept my cards around.

I loved that era, I was just a poor student.

Watching this was frustrating as I found numerous points I took issues with: - Saying Pokémon was "competing for screen time" against Yu-Gi-Oh! is completely disingenuous when they were on the SAME DAMN CHANNEL and often ran back-to-back with each other to capitalize their popularity - The supposed shortcomings of Ruby and Sapphire were overblown out of proportion compared to everything new we did get and receiving strong reviews - Calling out sets like the Legendary Collection and Evolutions as evidence for TPCi as "lacking creatively" when it was no secret what they were supposed to be. Evolutions in particular was intended to be a callback to the original card designs due to the franchise celebrating its 20th Anniversary (and it was the only way to get Fairy Energy in the original Base Set design as well) - Suggesting collectors would be unhappy to pull holographic Energy Cards when they were sought after is WILD - HoHo? Really? All this while in another comment you admit to not knowing much about the TCG and it's just... I'm sorry, but it's just UGH!
