For amateurs - The slower u swing the club , the better the results - don’t try to be Rory or Bryson - sing slow smooth and soft - don’t look for distance , distance will find you !

If you want to maintain speed as you get older, get strong, and that means legitimate strength training, not "golf specfic" exercise. Power = force x velocity. All the long drive competitors understand this, as do the likes of Bryson DeChambeau, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, but for some reason, old tour pros haven't figured it out. As we age, we lose muscle mass, unless we train for strength. You can work on flexibility, but if you are weaker, you won't maintain your speed.

@@applegreen4118 I've never come across a good golfer that only chose to swing slow. Distance will never come to a golfer with a slow swing speed. If you can't hit the center of the clubface when swinging fast, then you need to work on the flaws in your swing. Otherwise, you are just choosing to suck at golf.

Speaking as an older player, I agree. Chipping it the hardest. I just do like Nicklaus did. I putt them. I beat the chippers in that regard all the time. Overall, I am going to be closer. Older players are most all horrible short putters. That is because they never take the time to actually learn how to putt. It is much more complicated than the average person comprehends. Good putters are not born. They take the time to find out why the putter is arced and why the blade APPEARS to open and close. They learn why all good putters today release the clubhead. Over the years gripping in general has totally changed for a reason. Now we have big flat topped grips, left hand low, and right hand almost not on the putter, ultra light grip, for a reason. Anchoring or not anchoring a long putter has no effect. That is why it is coming back.

  • @mattk115519

I bought this a couple days ago. It just came today. I had to hit about a couple dozen balls off of it in the rain and I already LOVE it! Even wet, I felt like I had plenty of grip on the rubber, the mat is very easy on my joints too compared to my tri-turf mat. Jury is still out on "fat / heavy" shots. It feels like the club would just bounce in to the ball, but honestly I haven't hit a bad shot off of it,,,,yet. It would be nice if there were an insert that simulated the rough cut on a course. I don't always have a perfect lie. It seems extremely durable as well. Very impressed initially!

@@canefan17 I did, I’ve only used it for about a week or so. Pros: 1)Easily to assemble and breakdown I usually just pull the hitting strip off and store it and leave the standing mat assembled since it’s a bit heavy 2) doesn’t take a lot of room 3) works great outside - I use mine in the back patio on top of concrete floor. Cons: 1) it’s a bit weird in shape. Wish the hitting mat was larger square 2) the T is very forward, probably to teach you the proper alignment for hitting a driver but it would not work if you wanted to use a tee with other clubs because of the positioning 3) because of the small hitting area, I have actually hit the rubber base 4) my wrist and shoulder was actually sore- probably from 3 Overall: it’s a decent hitting mat. I would probably go with another FB model that give me a larger hitting strip.
