Ok, I figured it out. Purchase tickets online, follow e-mail go into their site & it lists 8 museums who require time stamped bookings ahead of time. Go through each of these to book your date & time you are going. Remember to arrive 30 min. prior. Also, Louvre, when you go into booking from their site, takes you to purchasing tickets look for the one that says Paris Museum Pass, on the bottom of page go back on bottom think says tickets- it will show you like general tickets at the top- scroll down & purchase audio headsets 1st, then go back into your ticket selections on date & time. This ensures if you want to purchase headsets to get guided by for each piece of art, that you have them reserved & paid for when you arrive. Either print your invoice tickets & headphone reserves on paper for them to scan, or keep on phone. It will be a bar scan code with your name & date/time. Headphones are like 5 Euros each. I personally want to know what I'm looking at. Friday the Louvre stays open later till like 10 pm. That's when we are going. Louvre tickets start to go fast the closer you get to your date. Only the afternoon time slots were available a week before, so get those 1st. Lastly, the pics of the restaurant inside Louvre, Le Cafe Mollien in Denon Wing, (outside terrace) looks devine- 8-10 dollars plates, reasonable.

Yes, I would definately pick Fountainebleau over Versailles. I feel that they both have much to offer but the crazy crowds in Versailles made me want to run away. And I'm used to crowds having lived in NYC for 40 years.

Hi Clement, visiting the free museums before or after you activate your Museum Pass depends on your schedual and how long you are in Paris. Also take a look at what days the museums are closed.
