My favorite programmes in BBC, my childhood very much influenced by BBC programmes like Holiday, Travel show,Panorama,Horizon ,Correspondent,Pandorous Box ,Window on europe,Rough guide to the world,Michael palin around the world in 80 days,Top gear,the curse of tutenkamen etc
So, really short and only a few notes. Not great to make a first impression. The ending theme could've been used for the intro.

Not great-if you want to hear the Panorama theme from the 1960's-try listening to Rachmanov's symphony no 1 in D minor-it was the best.
Panorama programme has change the theme music
How incredibly wishy-washy. Really lacks the punch of David Lowe’s rendition and it sounds emptier still without the punctuating beeps in the hold at the end. What a shame.
I think the only reason they did this is due to the BBC rebrand
