MANSPREAD SHORT FILM
Directing a “film” was not what I set out to do in making this. I wanted to tell a story, but rather than telling I wanted to *show.* I wanted to show what it looks like for women who move through the world being told they are too much, too loud, too big, too opinionated. I wanted to show how that manifests even in the smallest moments in life. women are told from such a young age that they need to learn how to make themselves smaller and it permeates every part of life. Our commute to work, how we sit, how we dress, where we stand, when we smile, where we walk… it’s everywhere. men are not taught these things. They take space whenever and wherever they want, because they’ve been told that they can. Not only that they can, but the space is theirs to take. and so we all continue to move through life, squeezing into the space that’s leftover. I made this in hopes that people would see it and think twice about how they move through the world. to be clear, the world I created for this film is not a better world, or a world I wish to live in - it is a mirror - it is the world we live in now, just the other way around. I hope that in seeing how absurd this world looks, men become more conscious and champion the women around them to be bigger and bolder and women take the space that they deserve just as much as the men around them. I hope to start conversations. That’s all.

This is such high quality woah!
I really loved the colour pallete of the overall cinematography!!!! And i believe that the costumes, camera work, the colour palette were the significant and most contributing factors to the point you wanted to make through this story!!!! 😊😊😊 Loved this!!!!
fez certo aí parça, a crítica é foda
What EVERY women pass through ALL our lives
2:41 I think it would be better if the men's side had water on the table so that we could compare 😃
I love that yt recommended this to me
God this completely captures how small I felt being trapped in the middle seat on an airplane and the man next to me sat just like that and took up my arm holder, imposing himself on my space. He pretended he was sleeping while really when I looked at him, his eyes were slightly open staring down my top. Men make us feel small in so many ways and this film encapsulates that reality so heartbreakingly well. Thank you
Oh.. wow. This is really awesome tbh, the way it flips the social gender norms to help us realize how actually bad they are is awesome.
this is amazing and amzingly directed and shown u have a GREAT amount of potentioal ik u will get the fame and recognition u deserve one day 💗
it reminds me when I was younger😂 I used to feel so uncomfortable. Now i spread back lol
That kinda don’t make sense. If somebody takes so much space it’s uncomfortable, just tell them so. And if somebody shoves you like that it’s not really about being a man but rather about being a jerk. Physically weak people can “shove” too but mentally. There is really no need to make up new words for it. Quite strange that the movie only shows jerks or people who are unaware of the fact they make somebody else uncomfortable but doesn’t really show that these people might also happen to be women. Like there is really no point in separating such people by gender. The movie itself looks pretty tho
Perfection
Beautiful
And then when you say something they call you crazy and on your period... I hate that I felt sorry for this man and the ending looked normal. This video is a masterpiece, everybody should see it!
I don't understand the purpose of this video
do women realise that men literally have organs outside their bodies in between their legs? it's painful to sit with your legs closed
this is amazing, i felt a lot of emotions, excellent work, keep it up!
Please, please, please go and watch Dove Cameron's 'Breakfast' music video, it is so deep and there is too many dark truths behind it.
That old timey feeling it gives especially the music😊.
I love the feeling.
Now this is some bs…
We need more short films about topics concerning women ..i really loved it
Love movies written and directed by women
Great video!for the people who are having their eyes opened by this video im so happy for you!! following this video try to notice these double standards everywhere you go and you'll be truly sickened at our world, no matter how progressive it seems atm (but we're definitely on our way :)
SUCH AN AMAZING MOVIE, the camera angle, the shots, the cinematography is top notch. u managed to deliver the message perfectly! the perspective change was briliant and nicely done. just an amazing movie i want to able to make a movie like this. props to u and the whole production team!
This is amazing
Brooo men have balls, you want us to make our balls get squished?
then just keep standing
From the dawn of time women have been labeled caregivers/the ones who nurture. We have always carried the silent weight of caring too much & carrying too much, even when we shouldn't because men have put that responsibility on us. So when we don't shrink ourselves down to the world they've created, we become problematic, a burden whilesimply existing in our own space. As a 44 year old woman, I will never shrink myself down for anyone.
i wanna cry
Somehow I felt comfortable seeing the male lead in a vulnerable state. But the moment it flipped my anxiety went up and the dread took over for the female lead. Well done film. 🎉
well delivered, men treated like that felt so unnatural while women were the most natural thing.
Oscars wy@??? I have a nomination 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥‼️‼️‼️‼️
A short tale but it covers a really sensitive topic people dont really talk about.
I loved this! To see the roles switched was definitely something. Amazing work!!
Incredibly well made. A cinematic masterpiece.
Interesting..if we just took life from another point of view.. where it feels like a whole another demention
this is extremely well made. i'm actually at a loss for words
my jaw was dropped for a good five minutes after the switch this is actually amazing
wow its so sad that we normalize that 😮💨
Oooooh love how she wiped the counter but left the glass and wrapper. Good detail.
so good
The philosophical thoughts you put into this is truly inspiring. This shows the alternate universe if all of the dictations are being reversed which I think is fascinating through your cinematic story. Subscribed! Keep on creating
Men getting treating the way women do on a daily basis filled my heart with a twisted, dystopian sort of happiness. I knew this wasn't the reality but wished it was. When it switched to the reality, my heart sank back into the pit of gloom. "That's how the real world is. That how the real world is. Thats how, our world is..."
Baby I think you need a therapist... No person deserves to be treated like that
If people get uncomfortable / offended over this, you know the video hit the right audience.
this is so beautiful and i’m sorry that so many salty men that lack any common sense and empathy are flooding the comments. 💖
#womeninmenfields
I think one reason the second half feels more normal is because that’s how media portrays men treating women. Fixating on negativity like media does only leads to a subconscious that normalizes the negative.
That's exactly how i feel as a girl taking the metro. wonderfully done!
I never see manspreading anywhere anymore
