What did you have to change to make this work on viola? I had never heard this piece until an hour ago. I was looking for viola sonatas with scores to hopefully improve my absolutely abysmal reading of alto clef. To my ear when I listened to this sonata on cello a lot of the cello parts got buried in the lower octaves of the piano. To me it almost sounded like a piano sonata the cello accompaniment. For me your transcription works much better. It absolutely soars. I would love to hear you guys do the whole sonata. This is really quite marvelous. I think Rachmaninov would absolutely love what you've done here.
