Journey Don't Stop Believing/Anyway about Want It
Badass !
This is my son SGT Jeremy Halstead. He served in the U.S. Army since the age of 18. For twelve years he faught for our country. 4 tours overseas to defend the grounds we all walk on. He suffered PTSD after witnessing combat. His struggles the wars he faught against his enemies. Enemies across the seas and in his own back yard. On July 2, 2016, sometime after 2am, Jeremy left his job as a bouncer at a nearby bar, not too far from his home on His 2002 Harley Davidson. His girlfriend leading not too far ahead. He approached an intersection near carwash, nothing on his mind but getting home. He and his girlfriend had made plans to go tubing down the river that weekend. A red pickup, driven by a 24 year old, suddenly pulled out in front of Jeremy, cutting him short from avoiding the fatal crash that not only took his life but took him away from his family, his kids, his father, mother, brothers, cousins, nephews, nieces and life itself. 12 years in the service just to come home and die at the hands drunk driver. A man who knew the consequences of putting those keys in the ignition, starting the truck, putting it in drive and driving away. When he made that decision, he told himself that it is ok for him to take my son's life and flee the scene. His girlfriend saw that Jeremy was not behind her and she went back to see where he was, only to find him no longer a living soul. His bike a tangled mess in the road. Jeremy was gone. My heart hurts for the loss of my son and there is no out there, not even his Aunts or Uncle who can tell me any different. I only pray that one day I can forgive the boy that took his life out of misjudgement.
