This video shows a dynamic simulation of a flexible four-bar linkage with kinematic constraints, large deformations and hyperelastic material. It uses MBDyn ([public.gitlab.polimi.it/DAER/mbdyn]) as a structural solver, Gmsh ([gmsh.info]) and mboct-fem-pkg ([github.com/octave-user/mboct-fem-pkg]) for for pre- and postprocessing.

For this model, the implicit euler method is used for time integration and a Newton Fischer Burmeister solver is used for the solution of the nonsmooth equations. It was built using mboct-fem-pkg ([github.com/octave-user/mboct-fem-pkg]), MBDyn ([www.mbdyn.org]), GNU-Octave ([www.gnu.org/software/octave]) and Gmsh ([www.gmsh.info]).

This example shows that the speed of propagation of acoustic waves in flexible pipes is below the speed of sound of the acoustic fluid. It is based on a paper from John Twyman (2016).
