if i run my fs70 wide open i'd be throwing rocks and going through line like crazy. i understand the WOT burning fuel better so i crank it up once in a while to get it hot but when i am trimming i do it just as much as needed. i have a lot of windows.

Before to saying something wrong about the honda mower defect camshaft began now why they made recall the honda gvcx new version of the engine only put inside the camshaft in plastic pvc and with the heat gets deformed and broken entire engine body

Hes right about the spark arrester but just remove it, hes wrong about running wide open, u have to only go as needed on the throttle or u will wreck shit,hes a repair man that wants u to wreck your trimmer so he can charge u for repairs from bad advice he gave u, on wide open u will go through massive amounts of string too, give throttle as needed if it takes it being wide open to cut the grass then yes but if not needed ur are much better off nursing that throttle, i only restring my trimmer maybe three times a year and it’s around ten years old never needed any repairs other than a spark plug and air filter, done myself

Run it wide open and u can break windows in cars and homes from rocks and debris flying plus u go through line like crazy, this guy is wrong

Just get rid of the spark arrestor.

I am using a trimmer with a four stroke engine, this just reinforces the reasons to be using one.Plus its quieter, It might be a little heavier but not having to mix and store 2-stroke gas - plus the clogged carburator issues, deterioated fuel lines makes it work for me.

I would like to see a video on proper use of the throttle on a gas string trimmer. Some people think the throttle should be nursed up and down, high speed for just a few seconds then let off, and repeat. Some think it is best to keep it running at full bore for quite a while. What is the best for proper engine life, and for cutting the grass/weeds?

I used Aspen fuels for all my power equipment for years, it was very good. It was expensive, but it seemed worth the cost. There was no trace of carbon buildup on any of my machines. The stores near me put the price up last year to $50 for the 5 litre jug, so I stopped buying it and went back to regular fuel with Echo Red Armor oil.

While I do like my batt powered equipment gas powered still has its place, and a ban on them isn’t going to solve the issue of people using them. I’m glad I don’t live in California or any of these places that are going forward with this kind of legislation.

anybody that uses this equipment that can switch to battery will be glad -try it out battery is better ,quieter ,lighter and more user friendly and yes I still have gas equipment but will be replacing it with battery as they where out -no more mixed gas and pulling on a friggin rope -we have nearly 40 million people in Cal. so yes we are different than many area's with small populations -keep in mind we replaced horses about a hundred plus years ago and people said the same thing -it's time to move on from the gas -just my opinion

Why manufacturers comply with commiefornia's regulations? I wouldn't sell my product in that shit state. You still have the whole rest of the country to sell your products. The equipment will still be available. Stihl, (and other companies), will make the equipment "California compliant". This will result in a substantial increase in price that ALL Americans will have to pay. Companies need to stand up to California's Socialist policies and stop doing business in that State.
