Needle Felting is so much fun! I created this channel to share my felting journey through tips, time lapses and stop motion. There are so many felters who have been doing it so much longer than me! I'm not here to say I know everything, I just want to share what I've learned and show how I do things... I would love to know if you have better solutions, so feel free to comment!
Needle felting enthusiast, Jules Felt Like it!
Needle Felting is so much fun! I created this channel to share my felting journey through tips, time lapses and stop motion.
I've been making little birds for my wedding and found the feet part rather challenging. I decided to share a video on how I finally figured them out.
If you are a beginner to needle felting, this video is for you! Actually, even if you've been needle felting for a long time, I'll bet there might be something here for you to learn, too. And speaking of learning, I'm always open to your thoughts and feedback, so please feel free to comment!
I'm Jules, and I'm an obsessed needle felter who loves making whimsical miniature versions of people's pets. I think sculpting with wool is magic.
Here are a few of the supplies I used here:
The core wool in this video is from some random Amazon shop and I'm not going to link to it because it's terrible. I really hated felting with it, and as soon as it's used up, I'll never buy it again.
The orange needle I use comes from Felt Alive (my favorite place to buy needles!) feltalive.com
The glue (which I love because it dries quickly and is not messy) aleenes.com
The felting gun: www.etsy.com/shop/FunnyToysCraft

I made this channel to document my needle felting journey, and show you all of the tips and tricks I'm learning along the way. I'm constantly learning and I also follow a bunch of felters on TH-cam, and I think you should follow them, too! Here are some of my favorites:

Jules makes a Needle Felt YORKIE with no wire armature | Christmas ornament
มุมมอง 3.9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi hi hi Felting Fans! I was asked to make a needle felted yorkie as a Christmas ornament. I've never made a yorkie before, so I decided to record myself doing it. This video shows all of my successes and failures in making this needle felted dog. I decided to break it into two parts, so this half of the video is all about the body, heads and the new way I've started doing the legs of my needle...
Lizard Love: A Stop Motion Short
มุมมอง 3822 ปีที่แล้ว
So while yes, this is primarily a Needle Felting Channel, its also a place for me to share my stop motion animation work! I'm so excited to announce that Lizard Love, a 2 minute short I created using Dragonframe and my Canon EosR, was accepted to show at the adorable little Hollywood Theater at the PDX airport!!! I'm so very proud of this little film that I spent hours and hours making, and I w...
Jules make a Needle Felt Ostrich & gets it to stand on two legs! (Check out how)
มุมมอง 1.1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi hi hi Felting Fans! My sister-in-law asked me to make a whimsical needle felt ostrich for her, so I was up for the challenge. I really wanted it to be able to stand on its own, so check out what I did to make that happen! (Two things to note - I just realized there is a tiny bit of empty space somewhere in the middle of the video, so I apologize for that! It’s just a few seconds so you can s...
Needle Felted Dog: Jack Russell Terrier Mix

Hi hi hi Felting Fans! Its been a while since I have had time to make another video (or felt anything, for that matter) so I appreciate your patience. I have been wanting to make Phoebe for a long time as a gift for my niece, Penny. I'm so glad I finally had some time for a personal project, and I'm so happy with how she turned out! EYES/EARS/TOP COAT DETAILS | Needle felt an older dog - PART TWO
มุมมอง 8033 ปีที่แล้ว
Hello! I'm so sorry this has taken so long for me to put out! I always struggle with whether to make longer videos that show more or shorter videos that gloss over details. This one seemed to be getting too long, so I am going to put out a "Part 3" to finish up, but I would LOVE to hear which you prefer (longer with everything in the same video or shorter videos that have one topic broken up in...
SIMPLE wire armature, core body & head | Needle felt an older dog - PART ONE
มุมมอง 7313 ปีที่แล้ว
Hello! I'm starting a new series on how to make a senior black lab (mix). Hi, I'm Jules, and I'm obsessed with both Stop Motion AND Needle Felting, so it just made sense that I would eventually do them both in one project! I created this channel to share my felting journey through tips, time lapses and NOW some stop motion. I hope you subscribe and comment... I have been having fun creating content for you! I would really LOVE to make more animation like this one, so...
Jules makes a VERY simple wire armature for felted pets in a variety of poses! No glue needed.
มุมมอง 13K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This tutorial shows my new and improved (at least I think so... for now) way of making the wire armature I put in my felted animals. I used to try and make a pose from one continuous piece of wire because I found felting the pieces together to be so hard. Well, I decided it was wasting too much wire and forced myself to learn another way. I like this new way because I can use the same shape to ...
Make your own Wavy/Curly fur | DIY curls for needle felted pets!

This tutorial shows how I make my DIY wool curls and wavy fur for my little felted dogs. Its a really fun process and you probably already have everything you need right in your kitchen. First I will show you how to take straight merino wool and make it into springy curls that you can then use to make wavy fur or smooth curls for your needle felted pets! I think this is a really good Needle Fel...

This is a really good needle felting video for beginners. This tutorial shows how I make a super cute "I Love You" Bunny in under an hour. Awwww thank you!!! How did you find this video? Always curious how folks find me
@ I read a commentary on a channel who gave a tutorial about stop motion and I saw your comment and I was curious about your work so I checked your ytb channel ^^ It’s always interesting to find talented people by some kind of hazard
@zalexianimate5304 how nice!!!
Thank you so much for your video it was brilliant ❤️
You are so so welcome!!
Jules shows her talent in her three part tutorials as the senior Lab comes to life. Her detailed TLC is impressive! ❤
Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks so much!
You are so very welcome.
Fantastic journey through Jules’ three part series. Well worth the time… thank you! ❤
I’m so happy you thought so!
Great tutorial watching Mr Yorkie come to life under adept hands.!
Thank you for watching!!!
Jules thinks out of the box and develops new slants. Exciting video! ❤
😍
Wow! Incredible armature concept…appreciate your sharing! ❤
Oh you are so very welcome!!!
Perfect name also ❤😂
Thank you so much for this! I just started this craft and I am loving it. Thank you for the tips and your wonderful enthusiasm
You are so welcome! I’m sorry I haven’t made more videos recently. Some day!
@@julesfeltlikeit yes actually I was quite surprised you didn't have more on the channel! The video was well done and you seem very experienced and creative. Great work
@Needlepain I would love to make more - they are just quite time consuming to do. What other topics should I do?
@@julesfeltlikeit any current projects you are working on? Maybe a video dedicated to tips youve learned over time for making certain animals or even in general. You just have a fun personality 😅 id like to see more. You can try out making some shorts!
@Needlepain I am teaching two classes from Sept thru December in addition to my regular work, so it will be tough until 2025. :-/
Super cute!!!
Why thank you!!!
I had been struggling trying to do other wire dog skeletons when I stumbled onto your video and it was so EASY!! Thanks for sharing, I will definitely look at your other videos for more tips!!
Thanks for watching!!!
I love your work, and your tutorials are so helpful. On this wire armature tutorial, I've had my eye on that dachshund next to your pad. I've got to make a dachshund for someone, and wish you had a tutorial for that! I love the way yours looks. Haven't seen any others I like.
I am in the process of cleaning my office…. Then I’ll make more videos! Anything in particular about it you’re hoping to learn?
@@julesfeltlikeit I was just hoping for a step-by-step process for the doxie. But I think I can wing it. I did make the armature last evening, and I'm hoping the legs won't be too short, or the body too long. I like your technique. Thanks for all your videos! Good luck with the cleaning. :)
@Retrojean2 thank you so much!
I really want to learn how to make this. So how do you form the shape of the dog, do you buy or make it?
I make them all by hand using core wool and wire armature! (See my other videos for instructions).
I like when she started but I don't like at the end because she did it so faz.
I’m so sorry! Sometimes I speed up videos because I worry they are too slow for folks. Let me know how I can do better!
Is there a part 5? I can’t find it. Wondering how you fur the legs?
I do my dogs differently now and really need to make more videos! But here is the part 5 you asked for: th-cam.com/video/K1koYFTUKRE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GppoCMt0dbps6x-u
@@julesfeltlikeitThank you Jules. I am working on my first Golden and this is my first furred dog. She is standing, full armature. I am in the furring phase right now using the shingling technique. My question is how do I deal with the legs? It is impossible to get fur to stick there so I’m not sure what to do.
Legs are so tough!! I use the thinnest amount of core wool wrapped around wire first and then only use the wool in the same color as the dog after. I pull a piece long enough to wrap around from top to bottom so I don’t have to stop and then tuck it in at the bottom - where the paw is. I need to do a leg video!
I do have the legs wrapped in dog color core already. I need to be more specific about my question lol. If my body has fur (you can get GREAT fur from Sarafina Fiber - it’s a line called Fur), how do I blend that fur with the legs that are just wrapped in core? I hope I’m being clear enough lol. I appreciate any input.
I just followed you on Insta. Hoping it will be easier to chat there and send a pic.
This is so cool, I only thought of ribbon tbh, but this has a more authentic feel. I made one recently with ribbon and pipe cleaner loll
Let me know if you try it out!!
@@julesfeltlikeit will do, would need to revisit this vid anyway
@V.U.4six please do! I really need to make more videos
Thanks for inspiring me to give it a try to replicate my 13 yr old dog.. fingers crossed - hope I get it close enough to a dog
You are so very welcome!!! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Thank you much i been struggling to make a dog but now i know how to make one
You are so very welcome!
I made the dog and it turned out cute
Really like the tutorial. Great explanations. Have you made a Frenchie ?
Thank you thank you! I’ve made a Frenchie twice, but I need to do it again. They are hard!!!
I'm a little late finding your channel but have enjoyed your videos, thank you for sharing your little tips and tricks
Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for showing your process and problem solving when working on projects!

Tenho dificuldade em fazer a cabeça e cara dos cachorros 🐕
I had to translate your reply - but I hear you! I also have difficulty making the head and faces. That’s the part that takes the longest!!!
Oh gosh now that was working a bit backwards. Think the project would have been better served to have actually made an armature for the legs anyway
Perhaps you’re right. I’ve been experimenting all different ways!!
It is good to see a way without wire, for us that don’t have it.
I seem to make all of my felties differently
Love your video I have learned so much from you also ,I bought your book cute needle felted animal friends, thank you for explaining everything ,🎃
I hope to have time to make more some day. Thank you for the kind words!!!
I’m intrigued to know what you are using as your felting pad as it sounds like hard plastic? Thank you for the demo.
I have my felting pad in a plastic base!
@@julesfeltlikeit Thank you for replying so quickly. It sounded as though you were hitting the plastic a lot of the time which is no way to treat a needle!! 😀
Ha! I wonder if it was just bad sound on the video? Then again, I probably am WAY too rough on my needles!
Wow! Turned out great!
Thank you so very much.
Wow!
Thanks for checking it out!!

Thank you!!
That is so lovely, any chance of you making a liver and white springer spaniel 💕 I love your videos to, will be watching all the time now.
I do have to make a spotted dog soon! I’ll make a video of that one for you!
Thank you very much to share this easy simple way to work on wire armature for needle felting animals. It is much much easier than majority video. I will give it a try now 😄😄
Wonderful!!! Thank you so much for commenting. I am so sorry I haven’t posted anything new in so long. I need to do that!!
You’re so unassuming but have talent to the sky! I would have called my dog finished around the two minute mark.
Aw man, you made my whole day!!
This collar is just genius!
You know what’s funny, I hadn’t made one in so long that I had to watch my own video to remind myself how to do it!!
Loved watching you create this sweet dog, thank you for the video! 😃
Thank you so much for watching! I’m long overdue for a new one. I will do it soon, I promise!
Love it! Where is the description box?
It should be right below the video! I’m not exactly sure how to explain how to find it, but if you’re on your phone I believe you click on the title?
You're so great!! I'm a big fan and I've never even eaten ostrich!
Hahahahaa. Why thank you, Carl!!!!
