A special 2024 version of this classic Hawaiian Christmas song. Shout outs to Lyle Arthur, Craig Walker and John Erickson, who have made this something special for many years to the radio listening public in Portland Oregon and beyond.

She Didn't Care

During my high school and college years we had a next door neighbor, who was a mother of 4, and would become, surprisingly, a mentor to me without her or even myself knowing it. This is a song about reflecting back on those days and what she meant to me.

These bands were so much fun. And Chris and his groovy and trendy ear cuff.
“A time will come when instead of the Shepards feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining goats” Charles spurgeon
You’ve missed the deeper meaning.
@ such as? The church is supposed to be a sacred place of worship of King Jesus. I’m not sure He would approve of such a distasteful scene.
Worship can happen in many forms, using many different tools...the story of faith has many, many different facets...Clowns in church is not for everyone, I'll give you that...my parents created a different kind of worship experience all over the world including Saudia Arabia, Hong Kong, Vienna, Denmark and many places in the US...For many who watched and participated found deep meaning and in some cases a new deeper relationship with God...not to take themselves too seriously...yet still finding God and witnessing story of Jesus in a profound way. Where this may seem non-sacred...many saw it as deeply sacred and their lives were forever changed. Honestly, I'm not sure what Jesus would think have thought about this...and really...that isn't what's important...Maybe a laughing Jesus dancing at a wedding feast with his friends and family is a bit much for you...Sacredness happens in ways we might not completely understand...open your heart a bit to other possibilities and hopefully you can see God through new eyes.
@ I don’t know friend. I’ve searched the scriptures and found absolutely nothing about clown’s worshiping Jesus or portraying the story of Jesus. Like someone else’s comment, I’ll take a hard pass on that. Blessings
I'm not crying... well, maybe I am. Thanks for that memory Chris
He was so authentic, so real and 100% a true gentleman
🇺🇸
He touched so many people lives by his love beautiful heart soul spirit
Mr.Rogers needs the Iron neck
I'm not crying, just something in my eye. No wait...yes I'm crying.
18:13 If he could only see how bad it's affecting children and adults alike today, it's way worse.
Meet Fred Rogers. Quiet. Soft spoken. Always smiling. But with a barely noticeable rage percolating just beneath the surface… “Mr. Rogers: Serial Killer” (Mr. Rogers glares at you with a bloody knife in his hand and blood on his cardigan, hissing “Won’t you be my SLAYbor?”) If they can make a movie turning Abe Lincoln into a vampire hunter, why not? 😉
Beautiful song for my morning - thanks Chris

We lost the greatest neighbor we ever had the day Fred Rogers died.
I've never seen the springtime show but the funny thing when Mr. Rogers resumed production, Betty's Little Theater was phased out. To this day I don't know why that happened.
Captain Kangaroo was the guest on Springtime with Mr. Rogers. The special, to my knowledge, hasn't been seen since 1980.
Though he doesn't give a date, the factory fire was from Mr. Rogers's 1st year in 1968 At the time of this interviews, MRN was mostly out oof production though its reruns were still being shown, though done of the 68 episodes were being rebroadcast. I've seen the factory fire uploaded and it's on The Internet Archive and I can see why some kids were frightened of it.
I’m amused that Mister Rogers said he hated the minister character on the Waltons and was happy when he was written off. You’d expect Mister Rogers to not even hate fictional characters!
I was surprised that he used the word 'hate'.
He was a good and great man. We need more hearts like his in the world. He was one of a kind
Lovely song. Thank you for sharing. Those moments that remain in our heart forever……
Fred Rogers is a hero that wears sweaters. How lovely.❤️😺
Self-love is extremely important...love yourself first cause you can't truly love anyone else til you do. I learned this in a rehabilitation program recently.
I have been self destructive for years. I used to harm myself when I was mad with someone cause I couldn't handle my own emotions. Every once in a while it rears its ugly head with a relapse.
Seems i found my audio to animate n practice subtle emotions with! How charming these voices are and what theyre saying ♡
Hard pass on that one...
Not your thing, I take it.
A classic indeed.... with a personal touch!
Any more? This is a very interesting conversation/lecture
😎😎😎
I love this
Lovely
Well done my brother
Thank you so much for sharing this!!
When he was alive, you could see his soul from space. He would have made an excellent president.
When Fred finally came out of the closet as a gay man I gained even more respect for him
Never heard that story. Maybe you're just messin' with me.
He was never gay. He was married with his wife for a long time till his death.
@@chrisfrimoth7245 He's trolling, BUT... "The Good Neighbor" is a biography written by Maxwell King and published with the approval of Rogers' widow and family. The book touches briefly on sexual orientation, and it quotes Mister Rogers saying that if sexual orientation was a scale of 1-10, he considered himself a five. Betty Aberlin, Lady Aberlin on the "Neighborhood," has also said that she got the impression from working closely with Mister Rogers that he was bisexual, but never really acted on it. He was faithful to his wife for their entire marriage, and they had a solid marriage.
Always have some cheap evil crap to add on to a special person who loved children. Shame on you..
@@garyroberts8742I agree. The man is one of my heroes. Shame on those who seek to pervert heroes.
The part about Harvard and Yale is really foreshadowing of how big universities have become places that aren't open to discourse and debate on many things today, and often push new ideas as facts and truth.
Just by listening to his voice, you can tell this man was a meditator.
What a beautiful interview between like minded souls <3
I have two people I feel are my heroes, and that’s Malcolm X and Fred Rogers
Now that's quite a range of heroes. I wonder what they would have thought of each other.
@@chrisfrimoth7245 good question! Both were extremely convicted about morales and societal standards. One came from great wealth (if you read about Fred, his family was very well off), and the other from extreme poverty. But in the end, to me, they both strove for relatively the same things
@@edk2221 @ed k Thanks for your input. My dad got to know Fred and became friends for many years. Dad interviewed Fred several times over the years. Fred certainly had a loving environment growing up and that suited him well for his vocation. Malcolm was a fighter and sadly misunderstood. I appreciate your thoughts.
@@chrisfrimoth7245 That's awesome that your father got to meet Mr Rogers and they become good friends, did you ever get the chance to meet him ?
Beautiful!
It's amazing to hear how Fred was so deeply thoughtful about the content of his program
Morgine Jurdan 1 day ago Sadly this Incredible, BEAUTIFUL song, whose story has played itself out again and again over the years in too many ways. Thank you for sharing this moment. I still remember the story... I think in WWI? Where on Christmas Eve both sides agreed to stop fighting and met around a fire, shared food and photos they carried of their families. The next day when they got up, they could not bear thinking about killing the very people they shared with around the fire the night before. The generals made sure that never, ever happened again. The TRUTH shall set us free. In reality, we are more the Same than we are different. I am unique and different, however, comparing the things we share in common, those things win out hands down. Thank you again for such a Meaningful song!
This is a amazing recording! Thank you for posting this!
