Training Centre staff have produced a series of operational skills videos to assist crews in maintaining competence. They are designed to illustrate the recognised approach to each skill area and should complement training that is taking place throughout the Service.
The production of operational skills videos will become a regular feature of a revised training approach for the Service. It is important for staff to note that they are designed to standardise our approach across a range of disciplines, allowing us to move away from local interpretations where they exist.

nice Vid!
Lol…😂😂 …you should have it flattened by HGV’s, so you have to hit it 10 times with the bar to loosen it.... then it’s full of compacted dirt… a driver shouting at you to hurry up. as you try and find the spindle holder… digging dirt out with your fingers….😂😂😂 oh, maybe dark , rainy and cold… and it’s oh yes….Persons reported…
Are the new fire engines Automatic? and another question Do they have GPS Systems instead of depending on the driver to know the area.
Yes nearly all the appliances are automatic, with much more technology like auto breaking to improve safety… there’s no GPS however there is a mapping system located next to the officer in charge. It’s down to local knowledge and the mapping system, as sometimes there won’t be postal codes but other methods such as what three words or map coordinates.
Would the OIC Normally tell the driver where to go if they don't know where to go? @@herefordworcesterfireandre9108
I know their safer but I love my traditional helmet in the USA
Superb team.. Nice video Greetings from ICEM - fire & safety college - in Sultanate of Oman.
Soft suction. Always thought it was a bit of a stupid term when deploying delivery hose from a press fed supply. If you tried to lift water through a soft hose then it would collapse - i.e. no suction.
Appreciate nice video Good effort
This is educational
No2 delivery has a serious leak by the looks of it. VOR and seal replacement.
The use of these numbered bibs are really helpful as a teaching aid. Not sure why every FRS isn't using them!
We have to do this in the dark and with our helmets on all the way through.
Hi thanks for the video, just wondering why the hose is placed over different shoulders on the ascent vs the descent? What is the reason for this? Thanks again
@booby Bobby, this is too ensure the house doesn’t go underfoot while using the ladder.
If a vehicle or person pulls the hose the fire fighter would fall down. For hose reels the branch should also be on the side towards the pump in case the pump is put into drive.
No explanation of what's in the yellow bag?
It's a bag of spindle adapters
Bag of spindles. They can come off if you don't tap the key with the bar and sometimes get lost. We carry extra in case we come to a hydrant with no spindle

Muito bom!
Oompa Loompa 😂🤣😂😂
Good luck mate .. regards and good wish to you from ICEM OMAN
Good overview. Thanks.
Quick question. Is there no backlight on the display? Is it just too bright a day for backlight to be noticed?
Holding down the left button on the bodyguard gives you a backlight
Brilliant 👍 love the insight and detail. Fantastic.
Might be a stupid question and I might already know the answer 🤷🏻♂️ Why do you tape wedding bands/piercings?
Loving these videos, I'm starting 20 weeks training at lfrs soon. Will you be doing more of these videos?
