Jiffy Torch or ION Alpha
Jiffy or ION? Well this is not an apples to apples comparison, but these are the two I have, some specs and some thought behind why I don't just have 1 auger!

We are catching fish but where is the snow!?!?
Great video! After tons of research, I opted for the Ion. Was my first auger purchase. I use my Ranger, so weight is not a factor. Having battery power is the way to go imho. No fumes, no fuel, no fuss. Squeeze the trigger and go!
I don’t think you can go wrong with ION I was a little mad because Eskimo came out with the same style a few months after I got the ion and I do have a lot of Eskimo stuff but non the less I’m happy with my purchase! Thanks for watching!
Do you have different augers for different situations? What brands do you like?
Love the grouse I had three that would visit me most afternoons last season.
@@RobertCrawford-z3m they sounded like a couple 200lb bucks coming in lol
WOW! My experience with my Predictor 3500 was completely different. My generator was awesome from the start ... As far as not coming with oil? I've NEVER bought any engine tool that came with oil ... Glad you decided to keep with the generator, in my estimation it's a great unit!
I’m on to many camping fb pages where people swear by these to just give up, I rough start but all is good now!
Maybe it's all the orange
What is it
This was a deer that saw or smelled me and took off laughing
When I hear that I just want to get up and leave
@@mikearmstrong7408 I hear you! On this one there was another hunter back behind me and at the time I was not sure if I got caught or he did.
Is there a worse pain in the woods?
Who else is going after their target bucks???
I have the WEN 3600 suitcase style and I think the WEN is just as good, or better for under $500.
I have heard good things about these!
Being a Mainer myself , this stuff gets me going
I’m ready!
Have mine for 3yrs, in Florida. But only use it when the power goes out during a Hurricane. Never had a problem w/ it. I love this generator. But if you only use it every other year. Drain the gas and clean the exhaust outlet. This generator will last forever. I have seen some youtubes w/ upwards of 800hrs and still going strong. I think I have put a total of 37hrs on mine in 3yrs w/ no complaints. I did do the mods....... 1. Larger tires 2. Battery Tender fished to the service door for convenience. and last but certainly not lease. 3. fuel on/off switch extend to the service door also so I can drain all of the gas out between uses....... during the Hurricane I have 2 refrigerators, Microwave, entertainment Center(Bigscreen TV, gotta watch football) a hotplate, expresso machine (for the wife lol) and all of the computers, laptops, and cellphones, tablets (charging stations), and portable AC for the master brd...... and that's all of the generator I need until the power comes back on, which could be days..w/ 5gals in a portable gas can..... like you, I would recommend this generator, it's quiet..... also you can leave it in ECM mode,...... it will auto rev as you add a load and back down as needed. I leave it in the mode once it's started and only turn it off to start it......... enjoy!
You definitely need to make sure you can get football on!!! Good to know you had good luck with it!
That's why they give you the initial 90 day return policy when you buy it. I would buy the 2 year warranty and use the hell out of it. Then just before the 2 year warranty is up return it and get a brand new one and renew the warranty. That way you get a brand new one every two years...
This is definitely a situation I would purchase the extended warranty. When our kids are our age they will get scam calls about their extended generator warranty like we do with cars 😂😂😂😂
Whining Karen
Ice better be good this year... might have to go North to Canada.
Your not wrong!
Shappell xl is 100$ not 200$ sorry for the typo! The magnum is 200$
I have this generator and purchased a kit to have it run on gas or propane. I get a little less power with propane, but it runs great. What's great is I can run it on gas or propane.
@@jameslongo4601 that is super cool to have more then one option I think a lot of companies are doing that now! Thanks for watching!
What will you do for extra fishing money?
My first generator I bought in 2008. The generator is a Powerma which is the predescessor to Duromax and Durostar. it is a XP4400E. This generator has severed me well with over 2,000 hours on it. The only thing I have done to it is change the oil. This past spring I decided to find another generator. I also wanted to change things up a little and go with an inverter generator. After looking at many different manufacturers. I decided to go with a Champion 6250/5,000 Inverter. Which was on sale for $662..00. I was seriously considering a Predator 5,000. But there where 2 major turn off's for me. The first is the price. The Predator would have cost me an additional $437. So I got more wattage for less money. The other is the warranty. Champion and the other manufacturers have a 3 year limited warranty. Where as Harbor Freight's is only 90 days. The only issue I had with the Champion inverter is the spark plug. The spark plug the put in it is made by Torch. The plug isn't hot enough and requires multiple pulls of the starter rope. I changed it out to an NGK and it now starts on the first pull.
All great points I’m glad you got something that works for you! Thanks for watching our channel!
huh, looks familiar
😂😂😂😂 weird do you know the area?
Dude I didn’t know you are a bad ass tree climber wow !!! Love the vids thx for sharing !!! Can’t wait for the ice fishing videos
Hahah I do just a little bit. A saying my dad always said is “I know a little about a lot and a lot about little”
Do you have a side gig to get you some spending money on your hobbies?
There’s a guy that said there is a hole in the bottom that the drain hose can go though. Also first oil shouldn’t be synthetic for breaking in.
Correct. Never use pure synthetic for break-ins.
I say no power smart better warranty and price. 3500 harbor has loads of returns
Had a predator 2000 for 6 years. Used it a lot. Zero trouble. 3500 for a year now. Zero trouble. I run NGK plugs in them.
Sounds like the better you take care of it (like with anything) the better it lasts! I will forgive them for the factory defect on the first one and give a honest review over time! Thanks for watching we appreciate it!
Dude you’re such a whiner you must be a MAGAT.
I found them he's sitting by a fireplace
You win the reward! Hahah thanks for watching!
Have you ever been confused on what to get your spouse for their birthday??? Well what did you end up getting and why was it fishing gear?!? 😅😅😅😅
Have you ever taken a tree down starting at the top?
What are some tricks and tips you do?!
How can a guy get a 25% coupon ? I’ll pony up quick too ! I’m serious !
@@Kymarb2 I think it’s either because I’m a club member or maybe because my receipts go to my email so I’m on a list. If I was you I’d go in and tell the store you want 25% off like other people get and that u will sign up to be a club member and see what they say!
18:00-As my Drill Sergeant used to say during my basic training, "I can't hear you!" This is an ideal time to add captions to your video.
Just a little tree fun now that the weather is not too hot!
Beautiful summer day on the kayak! How has your fishing been this year?
Has this ever happened to you?!? What’s the most expensive thing you sent into the water?
We camped there this past June and it was amazing! Our favorite campground so far and we will definitely go back! We live in southern Maine and just got our first camper last year. Last year was a rainy one for sure, especially for our first year of camping. We almost regretted getting a camper it was so bad. This year was better, though. I type this as we are about to head out to Pine Haven campground in Western NH. I kind of want to TH-cam my camping trips for others, campground review style, but I feel weird about it. Lol
@@chickie3376 I’m glad you stuck with it and we definitely loved this campground! Videos are weird at first but you get used to it! That’s something you just have to stick to as well. It’s frustrating when you do a video you think is awesome but does poor lol. At the end of the day the kids will have these videos long after we’re gone and that’s why we started this channel :) good luck on your next trip and thanks for watching and supporting us! If you get a channel make sure you let us know so we can subscribe and support you!
@@207ice2woodsawe, thanks! I’m wishing my husband would set up a TH-cam account because he’d love your channel. I just watch for the camping stuff, but he hunts and fishes too. I fish with him a little, but hunting isn’t my thing. He’s a native Mainer with roots in both York County and Aroostook County. I’m a MA transplant but I’ve been with him in Maine for the past 24 years. We don’t have children.
@@chickie3376 we love to see ppl enjoying the outdoors!
What is that GoPro mount on your hat? I once battled 25MPH winds in sub zero temps, set up my pop-up shanty, drilled holes by hand, and promptly kicked my jig box right down one of them. I would have had a few more bleeps in my video.
@@terryjohnson3100 I broke down and dropped the 45$ on an actually GoPro hat I will attach the link. This has a metal plate inside for support. I like it so far. a.co/d/5yXqDC5
Not every adventure goes according to plan! Have you ever lost something in the water that you never got back?
Fun fact after a little research I guess crappie do like some rattle! I wouldn't us this big of a rattle bait but maybe a buckshot what do y'all think?
Junk seat!!! you sit laying back to far! the shooting bar is too hi! if something walks under the stand forget it your reclined back to far and u will never put the gun under the bar and sit up in time to shoot and not spook the buck off. Walmart junk!!! #outlaws chop shop palmyra me.
We will definitely see I put a lot of hours in! We just needed something for this year b4 we build something so was not looking to go too crazy price wise.
Planned on putting one of these up on public land this weekend, but blew my knee out. Hopefully it heals enough to get out in 2 weeks for the youth hunt weekend. Good luck this year!
That’s awful I don’t even want to think about a injury before hunting or worse ice fishing season. I hope it’s a quick recovery for u! And good luck to you as well!
You lost your beard !!!
Hahah the beard and 20lbs!!! The beard will be back to keep me warm for hunting and ice fishing!
I got this stand knowing it was temporary, some reviews were bad but here is my experience
For anyone curious, this guy pulls
Other than what comes with your camper (usually) such as your electrical cord and sewer hoses here are our 8 top things we think are important day 1!
You know you are a Texan when you catch a crappie ice fishing! That’s awesome.
lol right?!? That’s what I said haha
What was your first fish you caught ice fishing? Colin’s was a crappie, mine was a bass, Chloe and G’s were also bass and arianne’s was a salmon.
When you get tired of putting the 450xd in that bag clam makes one that has zipper love mine it is oversized to fit all blinds but so much easier to pack up
@@beerrun9961 that’s good to know! I have seen people cut these and add a zipper as well. Honestly I always have a ratchet strap so when it’s cold, windy, or I’m lazy I just use that and worry about putting it in the bad when I’m home and it’s dried out. Thanks for watching! And thanks for the info!
