It does yes i actually lost a chunk of skin from my bare arm just below my elbow touching it for half a second lol. Whole first layer or 2 of skin fell off the next day. Feel like these would be great super moto bikes. Only thing i dont like is how heavy they are. You can throw around a 125 2 stroke so much easier

I like to go easy on the shifts unless im really trying to race or impress someone lol. Coulda slammed into 4th and flat foot shiftted on top of that for a better video i guess.

You have to get the ecu re tuned & then you can run 30% E85 & 70% 93 Octane. The E85 prevents engine knocking so you can push more boost thru the turbo

Not surprised, GTI comes with a larger turbo than a focus ST from factory.... but the body style on the GTI is so bland. Loved driving my friend's GTI cause of the driving experience but I wouldn't trade my st for it.

I test drove a couple gtis when i was deciding on whether to get the st or gti. Is yours an automatic or manual? Your telling me a 220 hp gti with just an exhaust is this quick? My st is making 290 hp & 385 lb ft of torque at the wheels. To be fair tho the stock turbo in the st falls flat on its face past 5500 rpm or so bc its so small. It makes peak torque right at 3k rpm lol

@@nickrossol9801 Gti's / R's really benefit from a catless down pipe like an easy 30ish hp when swapped.

That would make sense, considering that a GTI with a downpipe and a tune can pick up 80ish hp which would put you right around 300hp which is pretty close to what an ST with downpipe and intercooler makes on E30. The stock turbo on the ST is comically small.

Nvm i figured it out. Literally had no idea about it until now. I was shifting way too early when i first got this car and did so many pulls from low rpms. Haven't had an issue with it yet..

Bro its not that big of an issue. I pull at 2.8k rpm in 4th and 3k in 5th. Focus ST stock turbo peak power band is at 2.8k rpm. Everything above 4k is tapering. The lower the better ive beat so many STs and lots of other intresting cars with that technique. LSPI is all due to load The engine cant push back the load its given so the power cant go anywhere so it turns into excessive heat. Dont bog the motor and your fine.

@@ultimaartz-justinm.70 Thanks lol. This motor is a tank tho ive had it sense 50k miles currently at 73k and i used to do 5th & 6th pulls all the time on this tune. Been running on e30 sense 55k. I don't floor it in 6th or 5th even anymore unless someones tryna race. I'll give it 3 quarters throttle in fifth pretty often and it pulls pretty hard. 20-21 psi of boost usually

@@nickrossol9801 you mainly have to be careful about low RPM pulls. I’ve blown and engine like that, and so have hundreds of others. E30 reduces that chance a decent amount but still it can be risky at times

It wasn't a wot pull, sounded more like half throttle

@@nickrossol9801 sick, 1. how would you rate the $ per butt Dyno experience going as far as you have on the stock turbo 2. Have you preloaded the wg actuator yet and/or got the Turbo smart upgraded wg actuator ?

@@passion2peace I have this turbo maxed out on its power currency its got no more psi to give but hell yeah 10/10 on the butt dyno it kicks in so hard/quick & you're goneeee

Butt no I never pre loaded actuator dont think I should right now im already pushing up to 25.3 psi ive seen it reach in 6th gear

She makes peak torque right around 3000 rpm. Was trying to stay in the power band.

I was just going to say,"No need, there's nothing up there! 😅" I have a COBB stage 3 FiST on a custom 91 tune and peak torque is 285 ft-lbs at 2650 rpm and peak power is 208 from 3200 -4600 rpm. P.s. It's not a bad tune, I just live and had it dyno tuned at 6,000 feet above sea level.

Im not sure.. it would definitely be a second or 2 faster with a better trans but I dont think most people buying a compass are looking for speed so they probably put a cheaper or older trans in it to cut costs

Nick Rossol Jeep programmed it to shift this way. This same transmission shifts exceptionally fast in other cars. However, this transmission is know for jarring, rough shifts when programmed to shift quicker. To avoid the roughness, Jeep programmed this transmission to shift slowly and smoothly.

To be honest the i was impressed with the quality of the interior especially for a compass. They definitely cheaped out on the performance aspect of the car tho & it definitely seems to have worked out for them. The type of people that are buying these are just looking for a decent daily driver with 4wd. They aren't trying to go fast & they probably don't know much about cars. I see these compasses everywhere tho so obviously it worked out. It was a nice car overall for what it was.

@@nickrossol9801 yea it’s all put together pretty well on the interior I’ll admit. The materials aren’t very nice but there isn’t a lot of shaking or weird interior rattles.
