You can save the project file with only the 4 layers of the Glass Effect. And there you work from the project file, or you can even import that Glass Effect project file inside another project and work from there

Yeah, that's a side effect of using the choker, but you have to find the sweet spot (when increasing the Choke Matte) where it's not blurry anymore, and you leave it there, if you go beyond it will get smaller as you say. And if you need to compensate for the loss of size, increase the scale of the layer. Hope this can help you :) Btw thanks for being the first comment on my channel!
