God did away with the Mosaic Covenant by He Himself giving His life on the cross - Romans 7:1-4. For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion sought for a second -(Hebrews 8:7) Just keep reading in Hebrews 8:9 and 10, God claims He will make another Covenant with Israel and He did through His own death on the cross. Now the only way to be grafted in is through the Promised Seed who is Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:16-18) There are not two covenants still operating for the Jews, the Mosaic Covenant and the New Covenant. They must reject the old and accept the New through the blood of Jesus. Hebrews is written to Jewish believers in Christ who went back to the Mosaic Law and Temple worship. They are threatened with losing their salvation. They had to give up the OC to receive the NC. Christians love the Jews but we also know they are not grafted into the promises until they come through Jesus and His blood covenant.
