Why I chose the Honda Vision & thoughts on picking a work bike. POV Morning delivery shift
Glorious weather and had a free morning - got some deliveries in. Thought I'd run through why I use the bike I do for work, as well my thoughts on picking a bike in general, for courier work in London. Enjoy & do comment your thoughts.

DId you manage motorway speeds 2-up on your way to France?
Yep no problem 👍 certainly 70 mph is fine
Xmax or Forza ?
Not much in it - but I prefer Xmax
Young Amy Jones William Miller Daniel
Perez Scott Taylor Jennifer Rodriguez Mary
Chutneyz is really nice actually, been there a few times when I lived around there.
How do you go about getting a licence to ride one I’m a car driver 52 yrs
For the 125 variant you'd just need to get your CBT (1 days training) For the 300 you'd need either a full license or an A2 license. To get these you need to do a CBT / Motorcycle Theory Test / Mod 1 test and a Mod 2 test. What determines what license you get is the power of the bike you do your tests on. To ride an Xmax 300 you only need an A2 license but I would recommend getting a full license unless your under 24 I don't see why people get an A2 license
Good video but do you feel vibrations at higher speeds of 50, 60, 70, 80 , 90 mph ? Any increase of vibrations ?
Not particularly - certainly nothing uncomfortable 👍
@@TheLDNCourierThank you for your reply.
Thanks for watching mate
Red colour; green colour some colour at least...what colours are those ,,?😅
I have been riding a Yamaha aerox for 2 years now and enjoy it very much (my first bike as a 50+ rider), the only problem has been the bluetooth adapter that drained my battery so I needed to disconnect it. Now I am starting to think about an Xmax 300 as my next bike, it looks really nice but I am not sure about pros and cons. I am living in Bangkok where we navigate a lot between cars too so a bigger bike may have some cons I guess. Also I rarely have roads practical for more than 90 kmh but still Xmax look really fun. Any thoughts about an upgrade from Aerox to Xmax are very welcome!
Thanks for watching - sounds like in your case it might be worth sticking to a smaller bike
@@TheLDNCourier Yes I think this is the rational answer but I am not all rational, it would be fun to try out a bigger bike anyway!
Haha in that case go for it!
I would reccomend going for a NMax. As someone that owns it and rides it a lot if you are not above 6.1 go for it. Its similar performance for cheaper and it fits everywhere, and if you can add a comfort seat option and you are set.
Well an NMax is more or less the same as my Aerox, just a bit more expensive.
I use a cbr 125 to do deliverys lol
A lot of changing gear then lol
Bro you good? 3 months no posting ;_;
All good! Thanks for checking in. Will get back to uploading real soon just been crazy busy with work (not delivering)
Great video!, can I ask where did you get the mirror mounts from - I think that is a must on the xmax !
Got mine off eBay a while ago, you want something like these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315422486520?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=1xefgayrts6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=QyhWHF9-QrW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I actually quite enjoy trying out new markets. There is another town 45 minutes north of where I live that I have been wanting to deliver in
Most riders here use cars, so I don't tip. I only tip bikes and mopeds. Half the time it's not evem the person who is supposed to be delivering it.
Hi dude, fantastic channel and content. I was wondering what make is your backpack.
Cheers! - All links in description www.hpa-shop.fr/gb/delivery-b...
Where is the battery? I here itsit's down below the windshield.
Correct - between the windshield and lights
@@TheLDNCourier ok thank you sir
22:35 hahahahha 😂😂😂
You have a fully bike license? Only asking as i cant see any L plates on your moped
Yep full bike license
@@TheLDNCourier nice one
Unfortunately anytime I've used uber eats, they've inflated the price of food, aswell as service charges and delivery charges on top, I could never warrant tipping on top of that. It's extortionate as it is. I do feel for delivery drivers as they price paid for someone the deliveries is ridiculous. Having to use cars/motorbikes etc, if you come across mechanical issues your deliveries aren't covering that in most cases. I refuse to use things like ubereats anymore. You delivery drivers are being straight up robbed by ubereats and all other companies
How much of that did the tax man take 😂 after watching your video i wouldn't mind doing this my self how do i go about it.
After expenses I doubt many couriers pay much tax at all ! You can sign up with Uber Eats and Deliveroo if they are onboarding in your area via their websites
I work in a factory, so it's pretty boring to be honest, but it has been fascinating watching you do your deliverys. So anyway great video. Just one question is there area's in London that you do deliveries in? Cheers from Australia
I'm based South East London and deliver all over inner london - thanks for watching from Oz!
I own my Xmax300 from 2021 now for 7 months and have ridden 5000 km. Next week the V-belt is going to be changed.(20000 km) My cons are that the speedometer is 10% slower than GPS-speed-indication. The front lights are not really powerful. And it is very sensitive for strong side winds. But overall I don't regret this bike after 38 years of driving heavy BMW's. (I am 70 years old now)
I'm sorry you had to witness ipswich in it's decline
High st not in great shape but generally I prefer Ipswich now to when I was growing up
@@TheLDNCourier yeah it’s not in a good shape but it’s better then most areas
How did you mount the mirrors on the windshield?
He used the same bolts, original, for windshield bracket, I ges, or use new ones from mirrors set.
The mountings came with the mirrors: Link here shows images of how they are attached amzn.eu/d/01gShTLl
had fun watching this this is my home town hehe i use to live there but now i moved down to Essex
1:20 hello whats that bag called?

I do like the analog dials. Being human and kinetics are analog, so why would we try to express motion in digital?
I've said it before, what are they doing with these paint schemes? Give me something sporty. Go fluorescent, some stripes. This scooter looks like they are trying to sell the USSR vibe.
Haven’t seen that you’ve posted in a while. All good mate?
All good mate - thanks for asking. Just been super busy with work (not delivering work) New vids coming soon
seems like a good bike, where I live it has a name for idiots riding them unfortunately
Ridden bikes for years! Now l strangely find myself lusting after one of these!
Same thing happened with me
And me, in fact I bought one today 🙂
Damn it, me too. My first 2 wheeler was a Vespa 150 when I was 14 years old, had a blast with it in Sicily. Now 30 years later I’m a bmw k1600b owner and love that bike but I am missing the simplicity and lighter nimbler scooters. I am cross shopping the Xmax with the bmw ct400…. Not sure yet but leaning toward the Yamaha for reliability
Ipswich, Suffolk.
Hi mate how much delivery insurance do you pay monthly ? I’m getting crazy quotes £300 a month for hire and reward so it’s preventing me from starting.
I pay 50p an hour when I'm actively working for the hire and reward element. Check out Zego Flex might work out cheaper for you
Awesome video, curious as to what you used to attach the quad lock mount to? Thanks!
A mount like this: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335465928477?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=lv9qh4pdrmu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Are you able to flat foot the Xmax at a stop?
Just about - but with a slight lean no problem
just a question: isn.t confusing sometimes to have food and gophr deliveries running at the same time?
Can be - gophr deliveries often have longer delivery windows than food which you have to drop off as soon as you've picked up. Just have to make sure whatever food deliveries you accept are heading more or less in the same direction you were going anyway
You are awesome
Really well thought through and put together video. I put together a similar video for my bike after living with it for a year, owners views I think are a great complement to the journalist views. I’m quite keen to swap the car for a more robust and comfortable commuter. One of these has turned up at my local dealer (same spec and colour). I’m convinced it’s worth a look. Keep up the great videos. Enjoy the ride, stay safe.
Kind words thank you
Great review. I thought it would be, seeing the condition and sensible mods on the bike. I've got a Burgman 400 and I'm looking at the Xmax or Forza 300/350. As you say, far more practical than a motorbike, great in traffic and good storage and economy. Once you've tried one it's difficult to go back to a normal motorbike as they are just so practical and easy to live with.
Completely agree Peter. I've actually been looking at Silverwings recently
5:30 Storage compartments that don't lock? Pointless. What are designers thinking? Not much, obviously. Thanks for posting.
Think its intended for quick access without the need of taking gloves off or stopping the bike

as a bike courier, which apps you work on the most, as I am thinking bout moving back to the UK and was wondering as I would be getting myself a bike to do deliveries and use my electric car to do Uber
I only work off 3 apps : Gophr / Deliveroo / UberEats. Pretty even between them really
@@TheLDNCourier I have a delivery bag, that I use for Menulog J(ust Eats in UK) and was wondering if this bag as it's a back style as well as normal style that they have for car if these 2 bags would fit into this lockbox, if so I would definitely buy one the other thing too is that I would have to email you with the photo of the cargo rack I have for the back of the bike, as TH-cam doesn't allow photo's to be sent via comments
the lock box you have on the back of your bike there, could I easily install this on an Ebike with a cargo rack? If so where would I purchase one from thanks !! 😊
I've seen ebike couriers using the exact same top box as mine - it's called a Puig Big Box. I use the smaller 60L model. pyramidmoto.co.uk/products/puig-big-box-60l-with-lock-black
@@TheLDNCourier will check them out as well as I would like to get back on the bike again, once I do, I could literally place 2 eBike batteries in the lockbox as well for added security, and for longer riding....thanks for the information,
Do Gophr send job notifications or do you have to have your eyes glued to the job board to get a job?
It says evening jobs available at 16:00 and something like daytime at 19:30. It said 1 next to the board for a split second today at 19:30 but no job actually appeared. Only I'm thinking I'll never get a job on it lol.
I wouldn't bother with the jobs board really - the jobs on there are rarely going to be worth doing as their location wont be based on where you are and as you said you'd have to be looking and claiming the job as soon as it pops up anyway. Due to there being so many couriers on Gophr now there isn't too much work going on there these days but yes you will be sent jobs when you are the best courier for the job which is basically your proximity to the collection address. Taking a medium to long distance job can work well on gophr because then the dispatcher will prioritise you over other riders who don't have jobs on even if they're closer to the collection address. any other jobs on your route which come up you should get allocated as long as the deadline isnt tight or its a 'direct' job. The longer the route the more chances of jobs as a rule of thumb. However no guarantees you could just end up riding a long way for the initial job and get nothing else. Best advice would be to treat it like just another delivery app and keep it on in conjunctions with others and when you get sent a job you think is worth etc take it but dont have the expectation of getting a run of jobs going and pick up momentum which is theoretically how gophr is meant to work. Hope thats some help
@TheLDNCourier Yes, thanks for the tip about longer distance jobs. Personally, it will supplement Just Eat and UberEats orders as I recently changed to a moped from bicycle to actually get some orders lol. I think I just need to be patient as they have only recently launched here for one ASDA and a couple of Screwfixes. My weight limit is set at the default 15kg. I've taken heavier grocery orders but wouldn't want one big bulky item.
Nice one - Hope it all goes well for you
Nice touch leaving your bag to stop the lift doors from closing.
It’s something I fancy doing. But I don’t have a small bike. It’s a Triumph Explorer. Tried to sort insurance. It’s either a car or a moped. No big bikes 🙄. It isn’t London either
Were you refused cover or was it extortionate?
@@TheLDNCourier there are no options for bikes bigger than a 125 on the site
Does it have enough power for two persons (together 140kg) ? I mean to be quick in city and for short distance trip or even longer?🙂
I've had no issues with a pillion. Been on trips over to France two up and didn't feel under powered at any point. But depends how much performance you're after really
Yes it does. It will still get up to speed quick enough and keep up with traffic. Just don´t expect to overtake anything other than a tractor with a pillion.
Would be very interested to know your average mpg. Thanks in advance.
I'll try and calculate that at some point
