When faced by a predator, if a mom quokka has babies, she throws her babies at the predator so she can escape. They are adorable but don't win Mom of the year award 😳
And they do it all while having a great big smile! ☺️ 😰

Is there any reason these haven't been domesticated enough to be pets yet? Besides being endangered, I mean.
They are specifically adapted to their natural environment being the island and some parts on the mainland
@@alexmirag3513 But what does that mean exactly? Do they get sick easily even if a home is accomodating? Ferrets and exotic birds are adapted to their original environments, but that didn't stop people from keeping them anyway. And now owning ferrets is becoming more and more legal to own.

Who cares! They don't own those animals. I don't care what reason they make up why you can't or shouldn't. It's unproven BS! I'd be damn if they try to tell me I can pet or stroke them if I ever visit. It's not like they are hurting or abusing them. They are just too adorable to not want to cuddle them. Considering gestation for marsupials is usually pretty short, that kind of makes sense. Throw the baby as a distraction for the predator and live to breed another day.
