In the 80's I worked in motion graphics. This was before GCI and everything was done on an old-fashioned animation-stand. Much of the stuff was done with the artwork lit from behind to make it glow.

Is this related to Scanimate? It is my understanding that a big scanimate machine was responsible for the graphics before GCI.
