Hit up my favourite backcountry lake. No boats, no cottages. Even though this is an un pressured lake and we're the only ones catching them right now, I don't think I'll target Bass during the spawn again. Should smallmouth season be open year round?

Haven't fished Lockport in decades. Fishing was great but I was really disappointed with how this "World Class" fishery is treated. Garbage EVERYWHERE. We need to do better with self regulation.

Wow Man exilent
Thank you.
Nice video. New sub! 👍🏻
Oh man if Sean was there to help you. Which lake is this if you dont mind me asking?
Drew Barrymore Lake. Well.. that's what I call it any way.
It was a good day . . The riverbanks and creeks are littered by anglers who make us look bad. Thanks for doing the good job Jason
Thank you
Sweet vid, not much of tournament angler personally but I enjoyed your day on the water, walleye seem pretty hard to catch but there at aren't many of them here - tight lines !!
Thanks! Anglers with FFS saw tons of Walleye down there. They were just incredibly had to catch.
Manitoba's amazing river systems. Can catch 5 or more species in one outing
up there with aaron and jay! great job man!
Nopiming is one of my favorite places. My first time kayak fishing was on Booster as well, love that lake. Happy to have found your channel. Fan from back in the Red Fisher days.
Thanks Matt. Red Fisher! Now that's old school. I remember fishing with John after band practises. He'd use 6lbs test mono fishing for Channel Cats to make it more challenging.
Hahaha 6lb test for Channel Cats, yeah that must have quite challenging, guessing he had the drag set super loose. Take care!
Looked like a great time!! I’ll have to compete next year 👍
@@freshwaterfishingwithadrian Man, you should definitely fish the Central Canada Kayak Trail next year. It’s a really good hang and really well organized.
@@JJTFishing that’s awesome yah I for sure will I been watching everyone videos throughout the events looked great
Great catches, great setup in the Yak . Great video work as well!
Nice catch! Congrats Jason
i am from wpg what kayak d you recommend/ also where to buy? thx scott
@@snach9700 Stillwater Adventures pretty much has anything you’d need for kayak fishing. Or hit up FB market place for something used.
congrats on your placement!
Great Job Jason❤
Great video . What’s was the setup used
7' Shimano Scimitar med light fast, some cheap Penn reel and a Smeltinaor jig with a Z Man jerk shad.
Where abouts is this fishing spot? Way better than Kildonan Park. :)
Don't let the cops catch you using 2 rods. I got fined for it. Also, it looks like you keep catching the same fish lmao
You can bring as many rods as you want but you can only have one line in the water at a time.
What a fantastic day and an awesome video! Congrats, Jason! 🎉 It would be great if we could hit the water together sometime. 😃
Kayak fishing looks so fun. Would love to get a kayak and do a tournament at some point.
Getting a kayak has been a major game changer for me. It can get you into some really cool places.
Sauger city! LOL! Love how those aggressive Saugers always come in all finned out!
What a good day of fishing! I'm just wondering what kayak are you using?
Ascend H10.
What bait you using? Thanks...
Berkley Choppo, Spinnerbait, and a Texas rigged Crush City Bronco Bug.
I always try to come out with a bag full of trash when fishing by the river too. So many scummy scabs leaving trash on the shore
Wow. The river looks beautiful in the fall. I know summer isn't over, but I'm trying to get hyped for my first season of fall fishing. This vide helped!
Hey JT is there any way to get in contact with you about some lakes i was checking out in the winter and been trying to get out again this summer but no luck if maybe you had insight on these lakes in the mb ontario area
my contact info is in the "More about this channel" section of my main page.
I was just here fishing on Saturday after 20 years of not going up there
How was the fishing? Any big ones?
@JJTFishing it was good on bass but no walleye, and couple medium size pike, it used to be a good walleye lake back in the 80s but introducing bass killed the lake for large walleye populations
I been going out there since the early 80s and what a gong show out there the last 10 to 15 years
Good work out there bud. Just subscribed to your channel for future vids. Keep up the great work and tight lines
nice fishing, what month is this? thx
July.
Muddy water fun! Goldeye, mooneye, stinkeye, wooo ,, good fishing!
is it ontario?
It says manitoba right in the thumbnail
can you tell me what kind of lake this is? I will be very grateful ?
It's a reservoir.
What lake
Must be a great trip! Just added this place to my list :D
It's pretty nice. Are you fishing Shoal on the 18th?
Oh man that was awesome. I should def get out there to try it for myself
If the wind is low, it's pretty much a perfect kayak lake.
Hey I watched a few videos of yours recently. In one of them you actually took a goldeye home and shrink sealed it and threw it in your freezer after you caught it out of the assinaboine river. Is it even safe to eat fish in that area because it's so polluted? It's sad because centuries ago that river was so clean and clear and you could literally drink out of it.
I actually kept that fish for catfish bait.
Nice lake but the black flies will eat you alive in the late Spring.
What kayak is that and how do you like it for fishing?
It's an Ascend H10. I spent 11 hours fishing in it yesterday. It's good for camping but I've been thinking about getting a sit on top for fishing.
Spooky place to be in the darkest hours of the night!!!!.
Just got a fishing kayak what’s a good lake in Manitoba to crush some walleye and bass?
Check out Nopiming. Lots of nice lakes.Always check the wind forecast before you head out.
Garner, Gem and many others.
If you carry your bait in, you can carry the empty bait container out. And any other stuff you carry in. Good job for doing your part.
That looks like a great spot
Is that legal ? I've fished in that channel multiple times with no luck . The area of the lagoon by the bridge , not bad .
@@jackfishcampbell6745 I’ve never seen a “No Fishing” sign at GB so, it’s legal. We obviously made sure we were far away from swimmers.
Me either , just curious . I'm an old guy now , but practically lived out there in my youth . Camping and swimming and fishing every day , was a great upbringing . Enjoy !
It does not say no diving off the Lockport Bridge either. Give that a try.
@@timothybyers That's just ignorant .
@@jackfishcampbell6745 Go diving with the guy. You can hold hands. lol.
Nice! Those were some healthy bass for sure. Beautiful lake!
Hi, I am new in Winnipeg. Where is the bridge located? Thx!
Lac du Bonnet
Sweet. Looks like a beautiful lake.
nice. Which lake is it?
It’s unnamed, hard to get into, haunted, has tons of bears and Sasquatch.😉
Definitely has been a kayak fishing tournament for bass in Manitoba (as part of the WCKFT) but there was a side-bet sort of aspect to that one for other species in Wellman.
What lake it that ? I’m new to kayak fishing looking for any lakes around Winnipeg :)
This lake is in northwest Ontario. it's a backcountry lake so I can't name it .Sorry.
