Ghost Lights during East Tennessee storm (Foxfire or Railroad Lights)
มุมมอง 7K15 ปีที่แล้ว
This was a video of an average night storm in East Tennessee. These storms move fast and last on average 15 to 30 minutes and usually contain 1 or 2 inches of heavy rain. They always have heavy thunder and lightening. On August 21st, 2009 at around two a.m. one of these storms passed through. I captured a phenomenon I have only witnessed three times in my entire life. My grandfather used to cal...

    Thanks for your comment Chloe! I'm not concerned if it is a human spirit. I find that when I see these lights they seem mundane. They do not seem negative in any way. Might seem silly, but I've tried communicating, but it seems fruitless. I'll keep your thoughts and suggestions in mind. Thank you!

    That is interesting that most native cultures have stories about these. That leans more toward supernatural than modern phenomenon caused by electrical grids or railroad tracks. I've never felt uncomfortable or threatened, but I don't fear much (possibly not a good thing). Thanks so much for your comment!

    Thank you for your comment. My most recent encounter was April 7th. I was standing in my kitchen and heard the distinct snap and electrical sound. I looke dout and saw three of these spheres dancing around in my lower field and above the railroad tracks. Sometimes they seem intelligent an other times they seem that they are just a natural occurence. I can never say for sure. My lights come in all colors. Most common are white, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red.

    @TODIALAS2012 It is truly a magical place. You could feel the energy of the ancients standing there. This is my favorite circle in Ireland and one of the larger ones. It is actualy right in town of Kenmare. Thanks for your comment!

    @GHWP Thank you so much for your comment Luci. This is my favorite circle in the western part of the country. I personally feel these served two purposes: First, as a clock to keep up with the growing cycles and seasons and Second, as a religious sanctuary. Archaeologists have found human remains under many of the center stones, which means these might be a memorial to leaders or important people. The energy there is great and you can feel the history of humanity. Truly wonderful!

    @egyptianlily These are about the size of a basketball to beach ball in diameter. The camera I was using is actually a photo camera with video mode, so it is not the best, but it was all I had at the time. I think your theory is a great possibility. The only question I have is why do they move away when we approach them? It's all very fascinating to me. Thank you for your comment!

    @thefuturemisus Also, I was contacted by a geologist recently and she believes it has something to do with geology and the metal of the railroad tracks. Apparently she is doing research on these. The odd thing is that it is only during or after storms, at least here.

  • @IrishLincoln
    @IrishLincoln 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @thefuturemisus No, these aren't lightning bugs. These lights are about the size of a basketball. The video doesn't do these justice. I was arond 120 yards away from the globes when I filmed this.

    @leemer12 Very little quartz here. There are several deep valley faults though, so that is possible. These have been sighted without wind after storms. The static and st. elmo's fire are good possibilities. It would be interesting to find out the reason for these. I saw a couple of bright green ones two weeks ago after a nice heat storm. Thanks for your comment.

  • @leemer12
    @leemer12 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could be a similar type of light show like what happens across the mountains in NC The Brown Mountain Lights I have seen a few of those lights before and I have notice there is quite of bit of quartz in that area I wonder if there is a lot of quartz in your area? Also there is some fault lines in the area as well south of Knoxville area and around the I-40 corridor and smaller faults line that branch out maybe that can cause some sort of piezo effect.

    @leemer12 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hmm not sure if my last post went through okay or not. This might be the same thing as St. Elmo's Fire. Especially if it only happens around thunderstorms the wind and the near by lightning strikes causes object to have a static build up and if the static build up is strong enough it can attract the lightning to hit where it does if it can connect with the down stroke. Christopher Columbus wrote about weird lights on top of his masts. cont...

  • @leemer12
    @leemer12 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well I have never seen this before in N.E. TN with that said Only thing I can come up with since it only happens near thunderstorms that it is St. Elmo's Fire. When a near by lightning storm is near and there is wind it creates static build up in objects if the static build up is strong enough this is what makes the lightning strike where it does if it can connect with the down stroke. Christopher Columbus talked about weird lights on top of his masts due to static build up. cont..

    I am thinking this is someform of ball lightening as well. I've contacted scientists and researchers and they believe this is a rare natural phenomenon. It has something to do with the atmosphere, metal railroad tracks, etc. I don't understand it, but it sure is interesting. Thanks for your comment.
