Great progress - and just wanted to hop on and say that I'm in the middle of my first visit to the UK from the States. Took a train up to Liverpool from London. During the trip up, I said "this looks familiar," and then "Wait, I KNOW that Tesco," and then finally I realized we were passing through the real Stafford. So well done, it was cool to see how well you've modeled the area in person!
@@cnwnscale ok cheers! glad you recognised it from your trip, hope you are doing some good visits in the UK.
I commented before, very briefly, but this is most impressive. Would love to see this one day. One of the best I have ever seen. Also used to go to Stafford a lot in the 80s, and it has not changed too much apart from the loss of the Signal boxes. Any plans to do a Queensville/Rickerscote section, where Stafford South splits to the TV and the Wolves/Brum line?
@@markwilson4052 cheers Mark, yes I plan to exhibit it one day, and for exhibition mode would like to do the queensville curve, then it would turn into Lichfield which is the current project.
Hi Ben, looks great, lots of work packed into the month! Going to look great when its all finished! Cheers Gary
@@SC68 cheers Gary Lichfield is hopefully going to be a good couple of years work.
Nice layout, but i dont understand why you cut that bit of board off so you could marry up Stafford South Junction then laid new track and altered stuff to make it work, like that siding, when you could have kept all that pointwork that you removed and made it work a lot better without removing that piece of board and track... I know you would have had to have lost a couple of points.
@@jamesbeckwith3639 the section was cut off as it was a non scenic off board, I didnt need the pointwork on that board as it was dealt with by the pointwork on the junction, the only exception being the platform siding point.
Fantastic progress and result so far. 👍
Oh my goodness Ben, I know you said you were going to extend into the next room but wow it looks really swesome. How long will it be from the end of each bend to the other? Really loving what you are doing even though its a modern layout lol.
@@Chris-BognorRegis cheers Chris, well I said I would join the two together one day, overall its approx 7 metres across.
What can I say but WOW 👌🏻 awesome 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Darren 👍
Looking good, really coming together! You have a great space there to play with.
@@robertfrowen468 cheers Rob, its going to be interesting.
Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
That's a fair old run you have now. Plenty of room for those looooong container trains 😀
Hello there That looks great you’ve made some amazing progress. I cat wait to see how Lichfield T valley develops. Nat 🚂👍
@@Nat-AVMR-N-gauge thanks Nat, I am visiting Lichfield early next year for some information gathering 👍
@ sounds great, I go there about once a month to watch the trains go through I love seeing the pendelinos at high speed as well as occasional freight trains.
@@Nat-AVMR-N-gauge maybe we will have to meet up.
Amazing ! 🎉🎉🎉 You're inspirational 🍾
Thst looks fantastic! Well done 👌
Thanks very much 👍
A lot of ahead, looking great and will be fantastic for running
@@ngaugefouroaksstreetstatio6932 thanks, yes the Lichfield build should be good.
You've made some nice progress. I think the station complex is the most impressive. The installed tracks and switches and how beautifully the trains drive over the switches are especially impressive.
@@jefwisse1957 Thanks Jef.
Brilliant layout
@@markwilson4052 thanks
Looks fantastic Ben, very impressive.
@@geoffwest64 cheers Geoff as usual
Hiya Ben , One word probably sums it up ....... AWESOME !!!!! 😀 Certainly looks more Prototypical ( I Know i should not use the P Word 🤣) I almost want to get my Camcorder out and do a spotting session on the platform . Really looking forward to seeing the Lichfield Section .
@@Mr60059 thanks Andrew I aim to please, you heard the news that they have moved that Anglia 47 from Doncaster?
@@staffordstationngauge8359 Yes it move yesterday i think . Only 47703 to move now ( that if they save that one as well ? ) it went to wensleydale railway behind 50008
@@staffordstationngauge8359 Yes i did hear about 47714 . It moved Yesterday with 50008 . Shame would have been great to video . Anyway the 59 was that done on my Behalf 🤣Knowing i have another one on Order 🤔 ( 59206 in Freightliner 😂) In the process of More N gauge Madness on the layout at the Moment the station is just about finished , doing some catenary gantries from westhill , These do look awesome but you will have to wait Not finished the video Yet

Hi Ben - great progress and what a set up you'll eventually have. Am i jealous - of course I am !😅 cheers Euan
@@thegrowler-blackwoodngauge you will have to extend your shed 😀
Wow!!!! ……and there isn’t many layouts that make me say that!!!! Please come and say hello if you’re at the NEC in a couple of weeks Ben, it would be nice to meet you 👍
@@mikebuick2332 cheers Mike, cant get there, will definately do a big show next year, going to York next easter, might see you at a show next year, cheers.
Brilliant 👍🏻
@@nononsense3528 thanks.
Love a modern layout and locomotives, it must of been one of the best I've seen to date, it can only get better and better.
@@paultaylor9652 thanks Paul, looking forward to the Lichfield build now.
looks fabulous. How did you get the dimensions for all your 3d printing which all look great. I have modelled/printed the relay boxes after having obtained some dimensions on line . I also scratch built my catenary masts but purchased the trusses from scale model scenery. You really have thought out the extensions. Really well done all round👍
@ thanks very much Charlie, for dimensions of buildings I tend to start with door heights which in n are about 14mm (7 foot) high and work from there.
@ That is what I thought would be the best approach. I have Procreate, I can reference in a photo then place a rectangle on a different level then scale up the ref photo. Thank very much for responding Charlie
Brilliant, I’m keen to see the new layout plan evolve 👍🏻
Good stuff 👍🏻
Wow, they are some strong expansion plans, the layout is already incredible, but to have the 2 current scenic sections alongside each other willl take it to the next level. Look forward to following your progress on this project. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Dave, yes I had always planned to have the 2 sections together, and another load of new modelling to do over the next couple of years.
Just discovered your channel. What exquisite modelling and architectural accuracy. I'm really looking forward to Lichfield. Many thanks for sharing your skills.
Cheers
Really looking forward to seeing the extension Ben. It’s going to look good seeing the trains get a proper run!
@@mikebuick2332 cheers Mike
Evening Ben apologies for not commenting on your other recent videos but I would like to echo all the other comments you’ve had regarding the fantastic job you have done with this project it brilliant and I’m looking forward to seeing Lichfield come to life kind regards Duncan
@@dkrr8657 Thats ok Duncan, nice to hear from you again.
Hi Ben, such amazing detail that you are able to capture nice work. I’m incredibly excited to see Lichfield Trent Valley in model form as I go there to do some train-spotting it’s such a great view and not too far away from me. Will you be trying to capture the super elevation that is on the curves going through the station? All the best, Nat 🚂👍
@@Nat-AVMR-N-gauge cheers Nat yes will definitely capture the camber on the curves.
looks amazing Ben....are you going to be making and selling the OHLE out of curiosity?
@@OxleyCentral cheers, no not making and selling the OHLE.
amazing work Ben :)
@@OxleyCentral thanks.
Hi Ben Great work on the detailing it all adds to the very realistic scene you already have, the new project of Litchfield sounds good too. Thanks
@@peterjackson-cheadleheath1182 cheers Peter, yes Lichfield is going to be interesting and my longest section yet.
Hey Ben love the Lichfield Trent Valley addition brings back lots of memories as I used to use that station when I was stationed at Whittington barracks back in the early 1972 where I did my military training as a soldier. Man Im old.
@@ngauging cheers Dave, some memories for you then, looking forward to this one, there is a nice grim industrial estate to do with a huge Wickes in it for one.
Wow, exciting stuff, With such long trains will you have enough storage for the trains and is there an opportunity for a lower deck?
@@ngaugefouroaksstreetstatio6932 the fiddle yard section is a good 2 and a half meters long and will have 9 storage tracks eventually, though I dont mind taking stock off the track and putting it on the shelves.
Excellent modelling as always Ben. Love your commitment and dedication to this project and your attention to detail is second to none. Looking forward to seeing the Litchfield extension coming to life. Cheers, Jeremy.
@@jezbo7827 cheers Jeremy, another 2 years of layout.
What a plan! How big will the layout be once you add the new section?
@@willsngaugetrains Thanks, it will probably be about 7 to 8 meters in length, should be good.
Fantastic work, Ben. Congratulations! As a fellow N gauge modeller I can only marvel at what you have achieved in our scale. You are giving our OO cousins a run for their money! I look forward to the Lichfield extension. Exciting times ahead! Cheers, Karl
@@karlsage3064 cheers Karl
Looking forward to seeing the new additions.
Cheers Robert.
Excellent and look forward to the new extended Lichfield. Are you including the Cross City line over the top? You could add a Colwich Junction!
@@markwilson4052 including the line on the bridge but i will be a dummy in terms of running.
Looking amazing Ben. Really love all the extra details you’re putting in. Will be great to see Stafford south junction next to the station and looking forward to seeing Lichfield develop. How long will the layout be?
@@geoffwest64 thanks Geoff, Lichfield, longer than Stafford South Junction, about 4 meters. The whole layout roughly 7 meters long.
Hi Ben - great bit of detailing work - so important as it brings any layout to life. Great running clips to boot. Looking forward to seeing the new extension take shape over the coming months. Cheers Euan
@@thegrowler-blackwoodngauge cheers Euan, yeh looking forward to the next thing, lots of knackering benchwork to do.
I like the way you put these scenic pieces on their own styrene sheet bases. Can I ask what thickness of plasticard you use please ?
@@themightylui9632 I tend to use 60thou or 1.5mm but also 1mm on the roads.
When I started watching this update I wondered what you were going to do when its finished. I then thought mmmm perhaps time for an expansion maybe. I must have been inside your head LOL. Looking forward to the development.
@@Chris-BognorRegis cheers Chris, yes more layout!
Those OHLE gantries look spot on! I used N Brass light portals (Walsall had a lot of those) and included one to span 7 tracks ( I managed to solder 2 kits together). Your 3D printed bits are impressive! Excellent N-gauge modelling!
