    Wasting money. The coating is at least 5 times thinner than regular paint and everything, mold, moisture or sun will eat it up 5 times faster. 2-3 seasons and say goodbye to good looks. I have been painting for 42 years.

    You did amazing job on the house, although I think the original color looks more fitting for the surroundings and just more cozy looking. I believe the gray is best suited for a more modern home, not necessarily this style of home. But I guess that’s what the homeowner wanted. I think this house would look good in an olive kind of color or a navy/dark gray color.

    Not trying to be mean about it, but have any of you ever seen a brick house has been painted just a couple of years later it is not a pretty sight, and then you have to think about the temperature of where you live and how it will handle the elements think twice maybe think more than twice, plus trends die

    That looks amazing. Covered up the hideous outdated red brick. Amazing how much of a difference a coat of paint can make. We had a house that was Garfield orange brick. Painted it a gray color and redid trim in white, with a support change on the front porch. Had so many people stop when i was outside to compliment how nice it looked. This was an amazing transformation

    • @mattypants

      @swissmaid sold that one 15mos ago, unfortunately. We unloaded our primary and one of our rentals in order to move into one almost 3x the size directly on the lake. 1900sqft wasn't big enough, plus I really enjoy the water. I can tell you we did it 3yrs before moving, and it held up perfectly. Just have to power wash the house and do any tuck pointing prior and, of course, use the right paint and roller, the roller needs a long nap. Sherwin Williams is our go-to for paint always, inside and out. You should absolutely do it! I think Sherwin also has consultants that will alter a photo to show you what it will sort of look like when it's painted. Good luck!!

    • @mattypants

      If you paint it correctly and with the right paint you won't really have any more issues than if the house were wood.

    • @scotthaney6901

      They used a brick stain, which absorbs into the brick and lasts better than paint since it doesn't have as many moisture problems.

    • @traceycrawford9938
      @traceycrawford9938 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@scotthaney6901 Oh ok, thank you. I’ve seen older houses that have been painted (with what looks like regular paint) and over the years the paints starts peeling off and then you’re left with a peeling, flaking mess.

    • @scotthaney6901
      @scotthaney6901 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@traceycrawford9938 The paint most people use seals the brick and won't let it breathe, so moisture causes it to peel. The stain lets the brick breathe, though, which minimizes issues like that. Colortop, Romabio, and. few others make the stains that can be used.

    INCREDIBLE tranformation and I love the black window frames, and wood beams in the front of home. That "all- white-look" creates uniformity between the brick and siding, but I thought the siding could be painted a light greyish-blue? That may have been less uniform in appearance though?
