New console motion 2
For games that don't support telemetry output on console such as Assetto Corsa, you can now use the PC versions of the Symdeck motion platforms with the Trumotion and console controllers.
As you can see at the start of the video, they even work when there's no game playing as the motion is driven by the wheel and pedals. The only motion that does not work with the console controller is traction loss.
All platforms work on console for games that output the telemetry. See our website for details.

New console motion
มุมมอง 127วันที่ผ่านมา
We are proud to announce the launch of the new Symdeck console motion. The console range is designed to offer some motion to console users but unlike before where there was a trigger point to activate the motion and it moves to a set point. The motion is now progressive and is dependent on how much you turn the wheel or press the pedals feeling a lot more natural. What's more the amount of moti...

motion vs static
มุมมอง 7628 หลายเดือนก่อน
The most basic question is why choose motion over static? The one word answer is immersion, fun, sense of achievement! You don't drive around on a magic carpet. The car is 'mostly' driven on the ground and that, along with the suspension and traction is constantly feeding you information, not just through the steering wheel. Of course there is personal choice and available funds but adding moti...

      Hi, If you go to the website and look at the PC range, if you only play the games listed in the description of this video then you just add the price of the Trumotion controller to what ever product/s you are interested in. If you want to play other games not listed then unlike before where there was a console range, instead select the product/s as I've just explained add you will also need an additional console controller which is £100 plus tax. I'm in the process of updating the console range page on the website to try to make it clear. If you have any questions please email me at info@symdeck.com

    Would the spec be exactly the same? Max load of 250kg and max heave of 30mm? Will u guys ever release one with more heave? U guys have the lowest in the market. Even lower than dbox which eveybody complains about the lack of height, especially for rally

    • @symdeckracingsimulators
      @symdeckracingsimulators 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, yes the specs are the same but I think you misunderstand the travel capabilities. Max heave without pitch/roll is +/- 55mm (110mm). When we add some pitch and roll at 5 degrees each then it leaves 30mm of travel for heave which feels like plenty in use. You are though free to adjust the ratio of each if you want more heave. Also note the spacing of the actuators affects the pitch and roll not just the total travel.

    • @ccmiata
      @ccmiata 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@symdeckracingsimulators I always got confused of the difference between 55mm vs 30mm. Now it makes sense. Yup, I understood the max pitch/roll angle is determined by the distance between them. If u want to mimic suspension like Vesaro does then u have limited angle unless u go with 6” actuator.

    • @symdeckracingsimulators
      @symdeckracingsimulators 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ccmiata I'm glad I've explained it better, sorry for the confusion. You can go to 6" if you wish with theirs but apart from the cost, look at the spacing of the actuators. They are about 700mm centres side to side and 1200mm front to back so I would suggest ours actually has greater combined pitch, roll and heave motion. The feeling is far greater than the angles/travel capabilities suggest.

    For surge, I understand the rig moves backward to simulate car slowing down and vice versa for acceleration. Then for sway, with the same logic, shouldn’t the rig moves to the right when the car turns right? Only if the rig moving in the same direction as ur car is turning can generate a split moment of g-force correctly (though not sustained). Also, ur head will jerk naturally/correctly at the moment u turn the steering wheel if the rig moves in the same direction. I guess if the car is sliding, then it should do the opposite. But I didn’t see the car sliding in the video. That’s what Niels talked about in his “My Motion AGAINST Motion” video. If the rig moves in opposite direction, then the g-force is inverted

    • @symdeckracingsimulators
      @symdeckracingsimulators ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, you are correct but having tested it both ways it just feels better this way. It's a bit like on '4 poster bed' systems where they roll when you corner. They are generally set up to roll left when you turn right but really they should roll right. It is of course easy to reverse it if you want to.

    • @ccmiata
      @ccmiata ปีที่แล้ว

      @@symdeckracingsimulators I guess in 3-dof, the rig rolls left when u turn right right is to mimic the suspension travel. Anyway, your symseat 3 looks really promising. It doesn't look like it needs to have symbelt if you already have a seatbelt mounted to the rig as the seat base will move forward pushing u into the seatbelt which is more ideal as in reality, you launch yourself into the seatbelt under braking instead of the seatbelt tightening it up on u. Just wonder how pronounce the effect is with such small movement? It's probably best to mate it with the surge platform where the rig moves backward which makes the upper body move forward to generate the "corrected" initial g-force and then the seat bottom moving forward to generate the sustained g-force. Anyway, good job!

    • @symdeckracingsimulators
      @symdeckracingsimulators ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ccmiata Thank you for your comments. The seat base moves about +/- 20mm which may not sound a lot but it feels a lot when you sit on it. You really need a crotch strap on the seat belt to really benefit from it.

    Is there something wrong with it?? 😳 Why is the thing constantly sliding BACK when under brakes and doesn’t dive at all, neither does the front lift under throttle. What’s wrong with the platform? Why does it move opposite to how a real car does in the same situations? 🧐

    • @symdeckracingsimulators
      @symdeckracingsimulators ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aaron, In the real world, when you accelerate the car starts moving forwards before you and pushes you hence the feeling in your back from the seat so it is moving FORWARDS relative to you. When you brake, the car slows before you and without a seatbelt you would fly into the dashboard so relative to you, the car is moving BACKWARDS. We've had people also ask these questions when we've exhibited but once they've tried it they understand. Four-poster-bed style sims can only replicate braking and accelerating by lifting or lowering the nose but A REAL CAR does not lift and dive anywhere near that amount. On our system, it only does it if it's in the telemetry, i.e., the car has soft suspension, or if the user requests it in which case we add it to the motion.

      Hi Karl, there are 2 reasons for it. Firstly, it reduces the amount of the stress on the motion platforms so greatly reducing the risk of damage. We recommend setting up an escape button on the wheel so if you think you're going to crash you can avoid it. Secondly, because that's in the back of your mind as you race, as well as the amount you get thrown around which doesn't really show in the first video you drive more cautiously. I hope that helps.

      @@symdeckracingsimulators what do you call this combo on your site?

    • @symdeckracingsimulators
      @symdeckracingsimulators 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benjiebarker Hi, we don't have them shown as a combo on the site. It's a combination of the TL, s1, s3 and Symbelt. It is also showing a sway unit which is in final testing. I'm also finalising testing on our new Symseat which simulates sustained lateral G. Email me at simon@symdeck.com with your requirements and an address and i can give you a shipping cost.

    Could you put the s1 and s2 together?

    • @symdeckracingsimulators
      @symdeckracingsimulators 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a modular system and each part add a bit more immersion. Yes, you can put them together as well as the Symbelt for consoles.

    Do you have one that rotates 360 degrees?

    • @symdeckracingsimulators
      @symdeckracingsimulators 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, unfortunately this is not possible with our system and I'm not sure what your wanting to replicate?

  • @benjiebarker

    This is pretty cool…no more setup on the pc or condole side….can you adjust the power of the movement?

    • @symdeckracingsimulators
      @symdeckracingsimulators 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, glad you like it and yes you can use the console versions on PC so there's no software setup required. Unfortunately the motion and speed is fixed but if you choose the s1 or Symbelt it feels the same as the PC version. I'm working on a new version of our Symseat which will simulate sway by moving plates in the seat.

      @@symdeckracingsimulators Great!!Is it possible to connect all 3 together to have the full movement or only once can be used? What would be the best option to have the most realistic feeling? Thx

    • @symdeckracingsimulators

      @@highlineR32 yes you can use all 3 at the same time.

      Which ones you have is up to you but obviously the best setup is all 3. However, any of them is good and adds to the experience and in my view is better than a static!
