    This video was helpful, but I still have two questions: 1) When placing the cone down in the substation, is any orientation fine as long as it's touching or behind the tape, for example if most of the cone is outside except 1cm is touching the tape it's fine? 2) Are you allowed to hold the junction poles to stabilize it while placing cones, and to what extent? (e.g. full-on grabbing with a claw is disallowed, but what about stabilizing the pole with a U bracket)? And what's the difference between grasping and simply bracing? I couldn't find anything specific in the game manual related to these

  • @johnzhu9027
    @johnzhu9027 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good guideline! One question: in autonomous red/blue teams' 5 Cone stacks are preplaced too close in the field (only 23" away). If opposite teams accidently (or intentionally for defense purpose) drive to close to your Cone stacks (it often happened in autonomous) and block you to intake those Cone stacks (collisions will be easy to happen and damage the robots), are there any penalties? If no penalties, it will be almost impossible to score those 5 Cone stacks in real games. No teams want to take the risks to damage the robot. I didn't see this case was covered in the manual.

      Missouri ref here: through the middle of the field there is an understood "auto interference line". In general, teams keep their autos to their side. The caveat to this this year is that "interactions at the center line junctions will not be considered interference" per gs3.

    Caveat to verticals video rule... They are okay as long as the video is intended to be viewed only on cell phones. If there is any possibility that you may want to use the video on TH-cam, then always film horizontally. If you are creating content exclusively for team social media accounts that are rarely viewed on a PC (like Snapchat) then vertical video is acceptable.

    • @miketwalker86
      @miketwalker86 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great point, Barry! Due to time limitations, some of our script and editing was a bit rushed (hooray volunteering on nights and weekends when not at work) and we wanted to get you information as early into this meet as possible. The horizontal video guideline is primarily for the purposes of meet celebrations or presentations you may do later on (i.e. PowerPoint presentations, videos sent to sponsors, etc.) Definitely help expand your teams' reach by filming vertical videos optimized for social media platforms that are mobile-focused.

    How soon after a power shot is brought to backward position from forward position by a ring after a successful launch of a ring by Robot, how soon can a human player bring it to forward position again...if he can as soon or immediately, then can we shoot the same power shot multiple times by a robot to score multiple 15 points...or does it has to be different power shot for each 15 points?

  • @PinkPantsMan
    @PinkPantsMan 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So to recap: 1) Don't film in vertical. 2) Have your shots at least 10 seconds long. 3) Do more close up and tight shots.
