Collar and Elbow Control Hook Sweep, X Guard Entry, X Guard Takedown, Unbalance Sweep from X Guard
มุมมอง 101K14 ปีที่แล้ว
2 Part Technique - Force the opponent to expose something using a Hook Sweep. If the opponent posts a leg near you to prevent the sweep, release the Elbow Control to reach under for the X Guard Entry. Target a different X Guard Sweep depending on the opponent's weight placement and reactions in the position. If the opponent's weight is away, his leg will be light for the X Guard Takedown. Use t...

Seatbelt Control, Taking the Back, Rear Naked Choke
มุมมอง 101K14 ปีที่แล้ว
The Seatbelt Control is the most important technique in maintaining Back Control. If the opponent is able to roll before you can cover to get Back Control, continue to hold the Seat Belt Control and run around parallel to the opponent. Sit the opponent up and if possible, step over to trap his closest arm

Dang!!!! Thank you! Great North South piece and then the leg throw in arm trap also! Will be using, thanks
This video should have at least a million views. This guard from Marcelo can be applied in so much situations
Buen video y explicando todos los detalles, obrigado. Ossssss
Lurrv the X-guard... such a satisfying "snick"... when it's locked in... a bit like that perfect gearbox shift... select....snick... satisfying lol.
Gabi 🖒❤
Thank you!
Unexpected Vamos cameo
Iffa Da Guy 2:36
Great technique!
grab his pinky finger and break it immediately.. on the roll.. blast the attacker in the nuts
Those KRav strategies can help but you will still get killed against a BJJ guy unless you spent the time learning the real and proper defenses . I am a white belt and I know how deadly they're..
Gabi is a dude!
The 9 year rule seems a little ridiculous. Can everyone even be expected to be healthy enough to still train after 19 years of training. I think if you're a black belt and you've trained a brown belt for 2 years or so you should be able to say if he's a black or not.
I've heard one year, or one stripe..
It seems to be pleasant. I am a Japanese. I love BJJ.
haha marcelo trying to pin him down and get the points in the ending is classic..keep up the great work with the sport man. Love your BJJ.
actually hes brazilian....
sweet, now I have to learn to use butterfly guard in case shit happens while I'm doing this
Very nice technique. Congrats from brazil
definetly going to be trying that trip at the end.
those two set ups at 2:42 - 2:57 are nice
thats because your thinking mma... ... but ive seen this use in mma
nobody fights like he was demonstrating hence it is useless :)
Are you serious? How is the X-guard useless? Lol.
I wish we did this at my gym...
Well that was useless
THE 2 OF THEM SOUND LIKE MEN
0:46 - Faixa branca, gordo e com com cara de mal.
It was interesting to hear the detail about needing to be a black belt for nine years before you can promote someone else to black belt. That's something I never heard before.
Marcelo Garcia > ares
I wish I can go to his school.. man but too far away...
thank you very much marcelo
Such a lovely guy! He has a black belt in “character” as well as jiujitsu :)
Agreed! A real role model!
Oh the Sumo suits were awesome, wish I could have been there. BTW @ jchavista89 why dont you take a trip to the academy and roll with some of the "yuppies", be sure to tell them to their faces what you think of them.
@JohnRaymondWilliams if the belt doesn't fall off, it's tied "properly"
I'm a Marcelo fan but i think it's funny that at his level he still doesn't tie his belt properly. he only wraps the outer strand in the knot.
@hbkgault wow, 6 weeks old?? that's really young to be using the internet, let alone doing jiu-jitsu. amazing!
I'm a 6 week old white belt, and pulled this off in a roll in class today... felt so good. Thanks so much Marcelo!!!
Yo bro are you still practicing?
imagine if he is
Report back dude
Gene Gault What belt are you now?
Are you seven years old now?
@CombativeConditionin Watch his match against "Francisco Mendes" in the 2010 BJJ world championships and he subs him with the same exact technique. Anything he does with no Gi, you can bet your ass he can do it with Gi.
its sweat and yes its bocek
would Garcia preform this sub with gi or is a nogi effective technique
I would love to roll with this guy and get my ass kicked all day long. Even if i don't come out with any techniques, i would still just love the experience. Not everyone can say, "I just got my ass kicked by the most deadly ground fighter in the world".
In MARCELO's gym,@ blue belt level,do student go thru BASICS first (close guard, escapes, open guard,......) and then to X guard ,or they have SPECIFIC schdule !?
is that sweat or they cleaning the mats?
what kind of Gi is he sportin?
gotta love garcia, hes grapples like a god and hes nicer than jesus lool
hahahah i love that Eddie Bravo quote lmao my fav video
@TheLittleGreenMan102 yes u shold check out him rolling wit marcelo its pretty gd
is that mark bocek there?
Excelente
ogalthorpe1: You can train virtually with Marcelo. Just sign up at mginaction, get some mats (zebra mats has great home mats), and a partner. I used to train at his academy and had to move to Florida, so thats what I do to stay connected to his techniques. The site is great because it records his classes everyday, and you can see the moves in detail and in sparring as well. Everything on the site is categorized by technique so you can find any move he does.
