bruh any anime with dubbed voice actors: michael tatum, ian sinclair, patrick seitz, todd habercorn, bryce papenbrook, johnny young bosch, vic mignogna , chuck huber (and a few more i dont remember) are usually super good.

It honestly angers me that people say that the dub for this show is bad. If you have a preference for the sub, fine. But don't you dare say that these actors did a bad job. Brina and J. Michael both nailed their roles.
Because there are some people who think if you dub anime, you ruin it. I personally prefer dubbed anime. If I wanted to read with my anime, I'd just get the manga.
I believe nowadays dub anime are fine. But I still prefer subs. But for a couple of anime there are very exceptional dubbing like Spice and Wolf and Baccano for instance.
If you dub anime then you ruin it. The original material is all that needs to exist, that is whatever language it was first cultivated in if that language is Japanese.
For a show that's more or less a Middle Ages lesson on economics and is 90% talk, I really really enjoy it. This trailer was what convinced me to take a chance on it, first on TH-cam then as a legit purchase. I'll be the first to admit I'll choose sub over dub, but that in itself depends on how clever the English writers are with the subtitles. In many cases, even though so much of it sounds like gibberish (to a non-native) the Japanese VA by and large do better-for-the-story work than our English counterparts. That being said, this is a rare instance where both language options are near perfect. The JA VA w/subtitles is great, and having just watched the Palencia/Tatum dub, I am also very pleased. Brina, especially, is a wondefrul choice for Holo/Horo, with her lack of contractions and one point haughty, the next pleased vocal cadence/inflection. And I was very surprised to hear the great Jamie Marchi in a quiet dramatic roll as compared to the ditzy snark I've grown fond of in other animes (I tend to stick to harem/romcoms; I don't want to see OTT violence or freaky images) Anyways, my two cents is that this anime is most worthy as a sub and as a dub. You should take the chance and try both versions...would recommend several months in between so you won't be too biased

This show is way too underrated. Well, to be fair it's adequetly rated (8.5/10), but not enough people watch it. Which is a damn shame. I blame Japanese advertising for making all the covers for Spice and Wolf cute pictures of Holo. But what would you expect, it's Japanese advertisement.

I was soo depressed when this series ended. I would like to say kudos to the creators of this anime and manga for making an excellent show which is 90% dialogue. I only watch action/gore animes only and this is the first time I fully watched and wanted more a series that relies on dialogue alone. Great work!
that's exactly this anime, it's the guy and this girl travelling together and they argue, flirt and tease each other all the way. it has a good amount of great comedy but not so much action, but it's good like that.

It's more slower paced than most anime. Spice & Wolf centers heavily around themes/ideas like economics, business/trade, and religion. It does have some action moments here and there, but it is more centered around them traveling together and him teaching her economics/business tips while they try to keep her identity a secret since the Church would deem her as a demon that should be burned at the stake. But it's still really good.
Gawd, no. That voice completely misses the Holo-feeling. That teasing, cunning, playful, young expression. It just misses it c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y and rather sounds very empty to me. And Lawrence sounds like an old chap. Usually I prefer watching a series in a language l understand and not in japanese, but this time I'll have to go with it. That's just not Holo. I wish the japanese voice actor would learn german to dub it, haha!
It's not a movie, it's an anime that has about like 3 seasons worth of episodes. It's pretty good though. I am not a big fan on slower paced shows, but thi one was really good.

It's not a movie, it's an anime that has about like 3 seasons worth of episodes. It's pretty good though. I am not a big fan on slower paced shows, but thi one was really good.

The English dub isn't so bad, i still prefer the sub because Jun Fukuyama is the seiyuu of Lawrence and Horo sounds cuter in the japanese
