Love this so much.
Lori....how do I reach you? I don't have Facebook. I love the Solaris videos you put out! I am hoping you will still read this. I recently purchased a new/used Solaris. I am learning all the quilting features. The quilt wall hanging I want to quilt has beige fabric on the top and the backing is black. I stitched out a sample. I used black bobbin thread and beige thread for the top. Both thread colors are peaking through on the top and bottom. Errrrrrrrrrr. Do I have to settle with using beige bobbin thread? I always thought the quilting should match the color of fabric😅...unless I purposely want a contrast. I don't. But maybe I should not be so concerned because it is the back? Or change the back fabric to a shade of beige? I need some guidance! Can you offer some please? Thank you!

My mother made coats out if sweatshirts back in the 50s for me because we were dirt poor. These are much nicer, I must say
@@ellenhofer3343 What sewing memories me have of our moms! Even when things were hard to come by they found a way! :)
I’d buy this course if it was a stand alone one time purchase.
There are several free vids on You Tube...
Put a zipper in the front!
@@dayzemae9015 oh yes!
Hey, they got new quilted fabric at Joann’s!
@@dayzemae9015 grab it quick. I’m sure it goes fast! :)
What thread did you use in the wave stitch? If you make the quilt bigger than the length of the strips, do you join them on the bias?
@@lindagillian8157 I always use a decorative 12 weight thread. This is important for a pretty substantial wave stitch. A few brands that carry 12 weight threads are Sulky, Wonderfil and Madeira. Yes I do join the strips in the bias for longer strips. :)
Lovely!! I will have to try this!!
@@lindagillian8157 so happy you will give it a try. :)
@@lindagillian8157 :) glad you will give it a try!
Lori, I have the Solaris and the Triumph. I’m in the serge fun club but I am learning a lot from these 4 years old videos!! I had no idea the grid was there in the guide beam!! Thank you so much!! You are the best!!
Lovely!! Glad to find this tutorial today!!
@@lindagillian8157 Glad you found it as well. Hope it is very helpful. :)
What do you call the curves you put on the quilt
I call this curvy quilting. This is my name for it! :)
Very Good stitch
Absolutely terrific! I don't do quilting but want to bind a quilted little Chanel-style jacket and that is a terrific and easy technique.
Yup! Across the waist. Through the crotch is an ouchie
How can I do this with two appliqués on both ends of a longer table runner?
Lovely. 🍁 Thanks so much. Good colors for quilt inspiration. 🍁🍁🍁
Thank you
I noticed the name is actually Jenny Henny 😉
I just purchased a new/used Solaris. I have NOT plugged it in yet. I thought I would watch a few videos before I do. You are so thorough in your videos for the "how to". I have an Elisimo that I used to do edge to edge quilting. I always have difficulty with the embroidery foot catching the edge of quilt top. Do you use spray adhesive so this didn't happen? Maybe you addressed that in another video? My main reasons for getting a Solaris was so I could quilt around my embroidered designs and not over the top of them. And I love the larger hoop! Makes for a lot less hooping.
I have an Altair & have been wanting to learn more about this technology & your video is so concise! I can’t wait to try it!
@@cathleendecina2270 I have an Altair class available in my website as well you may enjoy learning from. It is based upon the Altair one which means it doesn’t have the Altair 2 upgrades within it. But is very detailed and will give you a great foundation if your interested. sergefunclub.com is thr website. You can scroll down until you see the Altair option. :) glad you enjoyed the video
Thank you so much!!
what serger brand are you using and the foot? I just purchased a Bernina L890 and in reviewing the BIG Book of Serger Quilting, I'm anxious to finish a quilt using my serger.
@@verafernandes4913 I using the Baby Lock Triumph. The foot is the Lace Applicator Foot. I’m excited you are looking forward to piecing with your serger. It’s so fun and fast. Accurate as well. :)
I love everything about my Triumph - except for one little thing: The plastic top of the thread tree. It breaks easily. I have a maintenance plan with Moore’s here in CA, but after replacing the plastic top 2 x, I have bubble wrap taped around it when I’m not serging. I wish someone would mention this to Baby Lock. I would buy an aftermarket metal top if Baby Lock made one. 😊
Can you tell me what size cording you are using?
Tension adjust for Babylock
Can you tell us how to do the stipple design? Where does it come from? How do you purchase that design?
@@SuperDhanson I created it using IQ designer section in my machine. You should be able to purchase on my Etsy shop. Here’s the link www.etsy.com/listing/661810733/easy-stocking-embroidery-desgin?ref=listing_published_alert
I’m putting a new back on an 15? year old quilt. Some of the edging fabric is pretty rough. It’s nice to see sewing on the binding with a serger makes it a little wider to cover some of the imperfections. Thanks for demonstrating the mitered corners. That’s what I was thinking before I saw it. So it confirmed my thoughts. 🧵🪡💙
Plz link share kariye
I love the mix of threads
I used this method recently on a baby blanket. It worked wonderfully. Thank you for sharing this method.
@@juliepointer4170 I enjoy creating baby blankets! I’m glad you enjoyed my tutorial! :)
Very pretty.
Wow - I can’t wait to try this bc I always thought there should be a way to use my serger for quilting and I love the fact that this is reversible and blocks are put together as u go! Such a wonderful quilt idea! Absolutely loved it - Thank you

@@susanpratt4404 I’m so excited you enjoyed this video and are inspired to try as well!
This is a fun project. I didn’t know until I started watching serger videos that one can use decorative threads.
Great video! I love how close you keep the camera so that we could truly see everything you’re doing. So many people are too far away in their tutorials.
@@DigitalDesignsbyPJ thank you for you comment. It’s so good to hear! Thanks for watching g as well. :)
