Trolling COLD Water for Lake Erie Walleye

Recorded on March 31st, 2024. Carter and Hudson spent the day trolling the western basin of Lake Erie. We found our target species but it certainly proved to be tough fishing. When the water is cold, it's time to slow down your trolling. Surface Temperature: 41.8F We found one active pod of fish in 22ft of water. A custom flashy-blue and Taco Salad were the hot colours! SO WHAT IS THE BEST TEMPERTURE TO RUN BANDITS PLEASE.?
Nice boat, nicer results. Nice!
The Big Secret.... There is no Secret 🎣🏆 Just put in Work and make it happen ✌️
Great job boys!
Thanks for watching!!!
Nice job! Cool video. BTW, I used to think that sliders went 1/2 way down as well, but I learned that it is actually closer to 2/3 after they are down there a while. I can see them on my graph, which is how I figured it out. It must be due to the blowback of the cannonball that changes the angle and makes them go deeper.
SHARE SOME RECIPES PLEASE!!
How about some Walleye burgers?
@@UnderTheScopeOutdoors COOL DO IT!!

HOW FAST WERE TROLLING AND DID YOU TROLL THE WORM HARNESSES AND BANDIT TOGETHER AT THE SAME TIME?
I'm sorry the video is all over the place, dealing with some GoPro issues. We almost never troll Bandits and worm harnesses together. It's going to be one or the other. Bandit speeds could be anywhere from 1-2.5mph. Once waters warm up and worms come out, we stick around 1.6-2mph. I hope this helps, thanks for watching!

Goooood work boys! If ya ever find yourself with a surplus of walleyes send em across the pond to me in Michigan. Them Michigan walleyes have been touggghhh recently. One day they're on and the next couple they're nowhere to be found. Keep it up there on Erie, cheers!
We've seen that too often ourselves... it's almost incredible how fast these Walleye can shut down! A little storm or cold front rolls through and then they won't hit anything. Really appreciate the days they're snapping. Thanks for watching!
I thank game and parks/wardens everytime they check me. Ive witnessed too many infractions of the rules.

The cops should have identified themselves at the start on the integration.
What kind of boat are you using?
Her name is the Shit Show, it's an 18ft Sylvan with a 90hp Johnson,
Oh hey, finally local guys starting some videos, need more fishing videos boys!
Hey thanks for watching! More fishing videos are on the way!
I had a cottage at Erieau and fished Erie often. Once got stopped by the fish and game people. The game warden was sitting up on the edge of the Inflatable with his gun hanging over the side. The first thing you noticed was the gun - they designed it that way. Th gun was huge. Strange way to interact with people.
Erieau is a wonderful place to be! That's an interesting experience.
I once got into a shootout with them on Lake Erie back in the 90s, my boat ended up capsized
What, no alcohol test?
Heheheee Dont think you'll get a turkey on the lake bud.
They violate your freedoms by claiming to "protect" you
Gees....there's enough problems in this world without the cops hassling walleye fishermen. Go out for a day of fishin and a boatload of cops comes pulls up with questions, questions. What's the world coming to?
Why can govt violate our rights because we are on a boat? Don't they need a warrant to conduct a search?
They can freely search for any captured game, which means they can search anywhere they reasonably feel fish can be hidden. They can check all your paperwork and make sure your boat is in compliance with all local regulations. And they can do all this without a single suspicion of any wrong doing.
@@marcuslinton310 That is exactly my point. In any other situation, they need reasonable suspicion to stop you. This is an overreach of govt.
Man, nailing em nice! They didn't give you an inspection sticker? I used to get ck'd every year because I'd be out by myself away from the groups. They always gave me a sticker for the side glass I'd been ck'd and every time after that if they pulled up on me, they'd see the stickers all lined up and thumbs up and away they go. I never minded, they are always cool, like these guys were. Just doing their job and it's a part of boating. You will meet them.\ Boating all my life, I know the drill without thinking about it. And there will be times, you'll be glad you did because eventually, some shit is gonna happen. Safe waters!
That's interesting. I've never heard of inspection stickers for recreational vessels. American or Canadian?
Government/police always violate rights or freedoms in the name of safety. “Those who will trade freedom for security shall have neither” Ben Franklin
When you sign that fishing license and get your boat registered, you sign away certain rights. You give the authorities the right to freely search for any captured game, which means they can search anywhere they reasonably feel fish can be hidden. They can check all your paperwork and make sure your boat is in compliance with all local regulations. And they can do all this because you signed on the line and agreed to the rules.
'Merican"
Did I catch that correct?... The OPP are rockin' Boston Whalers now? Jeepers. What happened to the sick RIB boats they had?
Is the fire extinguisher really required on an outboard? I have one ever since the Toronto Police told me to get one when they checked me out. They also insisted that I have my buoyant heaving line fastened visibly to my captain's chair. No arguments on my part. I want to be as safe/legit as I'm supposed to be. I'm not a fan, but I also wear my PFD full-time.
Yes, any boat with a fuel type engine has to have a fire extinguisher on board.
This reached a lot of the american sovereign citizens which is bad. Friendly reminder guys, here in Canada most of us know our rights but we decide to cooperate with LEO’s regardless cause when we know we’re doing everything basically within the confines of the laws it’s easier and quicker to help them out with what they need rather than be an unnecessary pain in the ass in the name of so called “personal freedom” most of our Law Enforcement aren’t corrupt power tripping tyrants like a lot of the ones you’ve got down there. Don’t wanna get arrested? Do your due diligence and make sure you’re following the laws. Hope this helps.
Well said. Attitude is everything.
Don't worry they totally didn't see all the trash around their boat when they launched it, the possible revenue that could've been churned was more important.
*Not sure about Canadian law but most mariners here in the states fail to realize as a boater you DO NOT have to cooperate with "inspections" like this. Here in the states maritime law gives the Coast Guard inspection authority however it conflicts with our 4th Amendment rights (this is only for PRIVATE vessels). The only way LE can board or conduct an off vessel inspection is with; 1.) A warrant, 2.) Consent, 3.) Probable Cause criminal activity is in progress. Without any of that they can't detain you, can't board your vessel and if you CHOOSE to show them your safety equipment it's 100% voluntary and minus a crime they have NO AUTHORITY to stop your vessel for any reason and/or detain you. If you're a boater/mariner here in the states NEVER speak with LE, NEVER consent to being boarded, searched or even questioned. NEVER speak with law enforcement, never consent to any searches (cars or boats) and simply ignore them. It's your 4th and 5th Amendment RIGHT.*
See here in Canada we don't make a bid deal over nothing and just show them what they want and they f off in 2 minutes
@@Adamsonestopfishshop *Yep, that explains a lot.*
@@AdamsonestopfishshopHow's that working out for you all up there? Looks pretty communist from across the lake bud...
@@patrioticconstitutionalist735 Police are never the issue in Canada... it's Trudeau!
It would be interesting if Canadian's had Amendment rights, but we'd probably still give consent for an inspection. We have nothing to hide. Thanks for the comment!
I enjoyed fishing in the far north, never get hassled. Due to health reasons I’m stuck in an area that has far to much police. There checking for booze, not your 2.99 whistle
You don't sound like you're from Kingsville.
LOL okay
I'm all for the preservation of natural resources, keeping DUI off the water and weeding out poachers. All good. Canadian marine enforcement is above average. Just don't like it when enforcement starts over-reaching. Getting officer's names is wise. You get stopped interviewed twice on one day by same people...that's over-reaching. They come aboard and start poking around without a warrant or probable cause...that's over-reaching.
not in canada, yank.

@@ronaldlaperle6753 and if you are agreeable to the erosion of rights and personal freedoms, that's unfortunate. Wise people are not.

Don't need a warrant or even a remote suspicion of wrong doing.
@@marcuslinton310 well...as the younger brother of a lawyer, I offer the following in rebuttal. Language within law is organized specifically for the enforcement of laws. In this case, the burden of reasonable doubt or suspicion, for law enforcement, is not waived because of language on a government document signed when being issued a hunting/fishing permit. Specifically because the permit is an AGREEMENT, not a CONTRACT. NOT the same thing. These scenarios present themselves in court fairly often, especially with motoring public: lawsuits against police agencies resulting from excessive detainment or unreasonable search...a motorist, collaborating with law enforcement, detained for 90 minutes (or longer), occupants ordered out of vehicle and entire vehicle searched, unfruitfully, causing major inconvenience for motorist and accompanying passengers, triggered by motorist (for example) lowering window less than insisted upon by law enforcement (although in fact, motorist is ONLY required to lower window sufficiently to allow verbal conversation and surrendering of documents ). Summary: if an angler is interviewed by marine law enforcement, especially under circumstances of random checks, and has his/her vessel ransacked by law enforcement, and the angler litigates against said agency for excessive detainment and intrusion, if it is revealed in court that the angler(s) were fully compliant...alcohol/license(s), bait type, safety equipment etc, then the likelihood of a judge awarding a settlement is very high, though usually not as steep as the absurd amounts $$ often pursued.
Was in a fishing tourny years ago in Ontario. 3 or 4 in a boat cant remember. They rolled up with hands on their guns with tab clip loosened on the holtster. They were cool ,but they were not fucking around. Seen them hunting deer too. They deal with drunks ,drugs ,and hunting groups ,parties that all have guns and drinking. Great job,3xpept for all hurt wildlife you see.

You know what it really comes down to? It's a lack of funding. We can thank the government for that. There aren't enough conservation officers around to enforce the law. So few guys trying to cover huge areas. I agree though, not a fan of the flossing or snagging in the tribs!

It's crazy to see the difference between the OPP (or Canadian Police) and United States Police officers patrolling the water. The OPP just want to check quickly and let you go on your way. The American police are just trying to slap you with some sort fo ticket or fine. I'm in LaSalle so happy to see you guys are out in Kingsville. Good luck for the rest of the year and stay safe!
The difference is nearly astonishing. Both on land and in the water. However, we know there are countless factors involved. It's an interesting concept. Thanks for watching! It's much appreciated.
IMHO these cops were the exception. The OPP always go for low hanging fruit especially in Muskoka
@@1decee If you are local you will learn their route, they always made a final pass through a bay we fished at around 4:30 on the daily, not before and not after.
