K40 LASER CUTTER BED UPGRADE
Finally got some honeycomb aluminium which is much better than the pre-expanded mesh that I had been using. A little talk through what bed is in the machine from the factory and how to greatly increase the working area plus how I deal with focal height and cutting different thickness materials.

used my old s10e to catch some paint balloons popping (or not!) during 'lockdown' with the family, footage has been cropped so a bit low res, I'm still impressed at this little trick these phones can pull off even if it is only for 0.4s (it has to record to ram, I think, the only memory on the device with enough bandwidth ?

Mine packed up today with a bit of an arcing/crackling noise whilst teaching my daughter to solder. Suspect it's the power cable since the display was on and off when it wiggled. Also found a sizable nick in the neutral insulation under the cable grip. Totally agree with your summary, build, power, cable length, etc. I've had it a while but with infrequent use. Grip was cumbersome. Found this video really interesting and useful. BTW, R2 on mine was 680 ohms, not that it'll help this late in the day.
Was indeed a break in the live. The silicon insulation was incredibly flimsy, I've never seen insulation like it. It was so soft I could literally strip it with my fingernails. Repaired for now, but I can see myself investing in a decent soldering station in the future.
I managed to fix this problem in the end and it's not related to lubrication. You have to manipulate the spring inside. I managed to move mine around the cylinder it's wrapped around and the noise is now completely fixed.
Just wanted to say thanks for the review BUT I went ahead and bought one anyway and it's great (so far at least). I am using it for testing four sets of garden lights which keep tripping when on in certain configurations. The readings I am getting when switching on various combinations look to be decent enough (24mA max before tripping), I don't have another calibrated meter to confirm. So, as this is the only review online about this meter I thought I would add a positive review for it. Maybe quality control has improved. Hope this helps someone.
I have just bought the accact same meter and it works perfectly fine it does definitely do the do.
Thank you! Bro My 2024 Volkswagen Taigun had this problem and now after watching your video the problem will be solved. Thanks again
Yes they are available under a number of different brand names they are the same meter from the same factory in china. As with most electrical tests equipment are as well as the big brand power tools

sorry i'm wrong , i only ever use a current tester for load tests , i wish this could do dc current as i need milliamps resolution up to 5 amps
a clamp meter only works by putting one conductor inside the jaws , the current flow down the phase conductor will be the sane as the return on the neutral so putting both in at once cancels the other out
An earth leakage clamp meter is different to a normal clamp meter as it is much more acurate and should measure down to 1ma (0.001ma) to measure leakage you clamp round both the line and neutral if there is no leakage the line and neutral should cancel each other out and it should read 0 anything above 0 which is now normal due to phone chargers computers etc being plugged in is leaking through the earth path. Earth leakage is becoming more of a problem with split load boards which have mutiple circuits on one 30ma RCD this arrangement often causes nuisance tripping as each RCD should have no more than 9ma as they usually trip at 22ma this is why RCBO's are now the standard in a consumer unit as each circuit has a 30ma RCD. A cheap chinese earth leakage clamp meter won't do the job.

Thanks so much. Had the same problem on my MK7 Fiesta, but like you said, they're all very similar mechanisms. Used WD40 and the issue is completely resolved. Thanks again.
something wrong with your microphone??
This a CEM product and they are the worse in terms of materials and functioning. Just stay away from this brand.
A quick tip for anyone with a Nintendo Switch: avoid the class 1 Ultras. Your download speed/write is abysmal, taking about 30-40 minutes to move a large game like Breath of the Wild.
What is the name of this honeycomb screen? Where can I find it to buy?
How did you cut the honeycomb?
You didn't even do a fair comparison unforuntately so I'm not sure how valid this test is for actually choosing a product. You did a 512GB sandisk ultra a1 VS a 128GB Samsung evo plus, size of the cards affect the write and read speeds
sandisk sucks
I have been using one of these regularly since the end of 2016. There was a faulty batch and I got mine replaced under warranty. I think it is a cost-effective temperature controlled iron. I found the video informative, in case I need to replace the heating element.
Thanks for the video - really helpful and by using silicone spray grease the noise from my folding mirrors is much improved, though not perfect. Mine is a MK3 superb with auto dimming mirrors.
Good👍
Thanks a lot, that was very helpful. 👍🏽
Unfair comparison
is it different than honeycomb bed?
yes I bought one from cpc 2 yrs ago. only used it once for single conductors worked fine. just tried it over tails gave fluctuating of 115ma -40ma! 30ma RCD sat there not tripping:) I know it was cheap but as you say it LOOKS exactly same as others(Tek, DiLog etc) did you ever find a decent one?
Also, the internal is different (after mirror removal) in my VW Golf 2015
Be careful. In my case the metal clip (on the right side, seen at 0:58) broke because there was an angular force applied while removing. Guess it was not apply some pressure after tilt down as mentioned in the video, but some more information needed
Thanks for the review, saved me from having to return it after buying it. If I am honest I expected a bit better from farnell, they usually try to stock things that perform as advertised.
Pack it with bearing grease.
I have the same issue on audi A3 and I tried to follow your suggestion of using wd-40. And then the noise disappears.... for 1 day, and then the noise happens again...
10 points how many points do you give?
Thanks
Thanks for your test~
Samsung the far way better
Thanks for this! This exact thing is happening to my Camry (although not motorised). I wonder if it would have been more effective to use actual grease over these aerosol sprays as it would last longer?
I buyed sumsung only thanks for your video
Its a good idea to imitate a real world scenario. Drag some big files over and see what happens.
It does say on the cards that the EVO has a UHS speed class of 3 while on the ULTRA is a class of 1.
Can you provide the make/model of the centrifugal fan that you used?
Hi Chris if you're in the UK they are available here on eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163686231824 the smaller one, hope that helps

Hi, I bought one of these and had the same issue. What is the other one you showed on your video?
oh no i buy sandisk card 😔 Samsung microSD card is better write speed is important

Thanks for the tutorial! On my car one mirror is folding more than the other, is that the same on your car?
Hi Mike, Not that I can see, there may be a small difference but not enough for me to add to the list of details that drive me mad.....and that's already a long list in my life.....
same with my car. did you find solution
@@lostandoverengineered878 The less you care about these neglectable things, the happier and richer your life is. :) (my wife is doing a better job living by these rules than I am) i was going through YT for this issue, and found your video. Thanks for sharing. I did recognise some slipstick in the sound, but couldn't put my finger on it. It's an extra load on the gears as well you want to avoid. I have a PTFE sheet of 1mm, i'll try to cut it to size and put that in to see if it works without grease. (i guess the grease/wd40 will loose it's lubricating funtion in a few months, since the contact area of the actual spring on the plastic is relative small)
Try testing meter cleanly this way first th-cam.com/video/XTUUijDclWk/w-d-xo.html
Looks like the same one, but a different colour
I know old post but very relevant to my situation. I've got a multicomp with same symptoms of bad readings on 2 conductors. I did see the video you mention when I bought mine. As you say a lot of these look almost exactly the same. what I didn't spot on the video last time I watched was how careful he was with positioning of the 2 cables within the clamp:) he wasn't so careful when clamping on the test load though:)
Cheers for the review mate, was going to buy one of these but I’m not going to now. Can you recommend a decent one that’s priced fairly?
I haven't found one yet, of course both megger and fluke do ones which seem to be well reviewed if you've got deep pockets (particularly for the fluke which is almost as expensive than their entry level MFT) there's a TIS one which seems like it might be ok for about £100 but for some bizarre reason has ranges of 2mA, 20mA or 60A so not ideal for tracing nuisance tripping of 30mA RCDs (although most do trip on a ramp test @ around 20mA). someone reviewed on amazon uk the TEK775 (which looks to be the same as the one in this video) and had similar issues for the sounds of it. I don't know though I may have had a duff one but the search goes on.... Do let me know if you get one you're happy with. In the meantime I still fall back on the great all round uni-T 210E on the 2A range its got a resolution of 1mA which while not great seems to be workable, clamp is a bit small to get two supply tails in though.........
@@lostandoverengineered878 do uni-t do any other models for earth leakage, looking to replace my tester, which is the amecal version of the one you have, because I could really do with a AC/DC leakage current tester
@@acelectricalsecurity They seem to do the UT251 which is reasonably priced if a little tricky to get hold of does look tempting for about £100 it doesn't measure DC current though.. they have bought out a ut211 (similar to ut210 which really is great general purpose with DC clamp) the ut211 goes down to a resolution of 0.1ma but again not for DC on this scale only further up. This makes some sense as when you measure AC current via clamp you're effectively using a current transformer but for DC via clamp its hall effect, and at less than 100mA DC ,you get so much interaction with ambient magnetic fields including our own planets', you can do a certain amount of zeroing out but its tricky, anyway the ut210 is good but has a small clamp, looks like the ut211 would be a bit more helpful finding earth leakage in AC (rcd tripping etc.) due to higher resolution can also do DC but also has a small clamp. but if you really after a high sensitivity AC clamp then it looks like the UT251 might just be worth a look. Out of interest how do you get on with your amecal ?
@@lostandoverengineered878 thanks for the info, I ordered the 211b, hopefully it will do what I need, as for the amacal, I found it to be useful and seemed accurate enough for me, when looking for earth leakage on RCD protected circuits, however I lost it, so hence I have been looking around for a replacement, and I thought I may as well get one which could measure DC leakage current as well as ac, to move with the times.
