Ryan O'Leary Composition and Barbershop
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 16 ธ.ค. 2016
Hello! I am Ryan O'Leary, I compose and write for various ensembles, mostly men's voices/trombone ensemble/piano :)
Don't You Dare (Barbershop Tag)
This is from a song called "Don't You Dare (Make Me Fall in Love With You)" by Kaden MacKay who is probably one of my all time favorite artists. I tried to make something interesting and hope you guys like it !

My Life is Mine (Original Barbershop Tag)

This is just a super quick and to the point thing I wrote and I really liked the ending. I just wish I had a Bb comfortably in my chest voice so I could make an even crazier sound at the end. Hope you like the tag!
How Can I Move On? (Original Barbershop Tag)
มุมมอง 317หลายเดือนก่อน
I've been in a little bit of a dry spell lately, I've been writing and working on music but not really finishing anything to show. This was finally what broke the cycle and all things considered im really happy with it. Unfortunately, I didn't have my low E's today (and didn't want to wait to record it later) so all Eb's were all just pitch shifted E's.

This is just one I did for fun since I had a good day for my high register, I also recorded it in Bb but decided to leave it out. Hope you enjoy :)

Another thing I found in my backlogue of things I haven't uploaded! Hoping to start writing and recording

This is a quick thing I wrote and recorded a few months ago but forgot to post, hope you enjoy!
Timeless Paradise (Original Barbershop Tag)

I'm really happy with how this turned out although I'll be the first to admit the ending isn't the most creative, I just really wanted to get this out since I'm so happy with the rest of it :). Hope you enjoy and also sorry about the notation mistake in measure 8, somehow I missed that.
Nobody to Hold (Original Barbershop Tag)

I've hit a bit of a dry spell lately (hence why I haven't really been posting) also just life has been busy and chaotic so I'm glad to finally put something out. I'm pretty happy with this small thing even if it isn't my magnum opus, and I hope you enjoy too :)
A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes (Barbershop Tag)

I've been having a lot of fun recording some new stuff. Also, I've been loving tenor melodies recently so this is perfect

This is a great tag I found while searching around on TH-cam so I wanted to do a quick recording since I've been feeling pretty inspired recently. Hope you guys are liking the more consistent uploads :)

This is a quick one I just wrote to have a little fun and write some more barbershop 7ths :)
Lovely Worlds (TTBB)
มุมมอง 3114 หลายเดือนก่อน
Just another little thing that I did for fun. This is less "barbershoppy" than I would usually go for but I'm just trying to experiment around a little bit and push some harmonic boundaries again. I'm honestly not too thrilled with how I voiced the "lovely little worlds" part since it gets super muddy in the recording. I think the easiest thing is to shift things around and have the tenor sing ...
My Home (Barbershop Tag)

I saw Roman King upload an original barbershop tag and it made me want to jump on the bandwagon. You can probably tell where I kinda lost ideas and just slapped on an ending but I think it sorta fits. Anyways this is for fun and I wrote it and recorded it in about an hour. I want to try to write more tags I just get so invested in what I have that I want to keep adding things on top of it and I...

Hey everyone! Trying something a bit different, instead of keeping everyone in the dark I figured I would try sharing what im working on right now and where they're at instead of just going silent for a couple of months. The first one is a just a little silly thing i was putting together originally as a joke but I ended up really liking it and I'm hoping to complete it. The concept was basicall...
Dear Diary - TTBB
มุมมอง 2.1K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a bit of an odd one, I recently got cheated on in a long term relationship and have been using this piece to sort of write down my feelings and thoughts as the days pass. I'm not perfectly happy with this piece and I might consider revising some of it but I think overall It's at a spot where I'm comfortable sharing it. I've always viewed my posts on this channel as more of a "proof of c...

I’m in awe of the overtones! This is so beautiful! 🤌😭🤌
Is this the longest vocal C in history? Great stuff!
beautiful, wow man you're so talented
*Auto tune is talented
You should put this on good tags
Bryan Pulver here. Great job! The tag was written just for fun and has been known as "the falsetto tag" for obvious reasons! Best sung in a stair well or parking garage ;) Happy tagging!
This is such a beautifully written tag, thanks so much!
In retrospect I have no clue why I did D naturals in the second measure but Ebb in the very next measure, whoops :)
for real one of my favorites from you ryan! love it!!
Thanks so much for listening! Glad you liked it :)
Hey Ryan. This is my favorite of the ones I've listened to so far. I love listening to these and singing along since I am a decent vocalist but can't play piano. Thanks for providing the transcription on-screen. Looking forward to more stuff to come. I see you just posted a tag so gonna go listen to that one now!
I’m glad you enjoyed! Thank you so much for listening and supporting me :)
Talk about learning how to extend my range 😮
Bass on a high Ab is wild
Haha yeah, I just thought it was fun!
@@ryancomposition It sounds fun! I was looking through barber shop music last night for sight reading, and it’s out of my range haha (my voice is about an octave lower because of strain from band camp and i’m utilizing lol)
So wonderful!
Thanks for listening! :)
You’ve got one hell of a range! Great arrangement! Thanks
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful!
Thank you so much for listening! :)
this is awesome!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed :)
Tbn. 1 would suit bassoon too
You are scoring some wild a$$ overtones in bar 2. Wow. Thanks 😮
Undertone on the last chord <3
Can’t wait to show this to a couple buds of mine and have them learn this amazing piece of work
oh my bussalicious
That certainly contains some wild chords but as usual, resolved in the end!😊
Big thumbs up on the resolution!
Wildly out of tune singing in some spots, but the tag is really quite excellent.
Relatable lyrics fr - Beautiful!
My friend, those are some wild chords and resolutions. I thought a couple of times that you backed yourself into a corner but you always got out. Nice! PS: I still am amazed that you sing all 4 parts😮
Excellent tenor line and nice tonality
Thank you so much!
Amazing stuff Ryan!
Thanks so much! Appreciate the love :)
You just keep getting better and better! Those high notes are demanding to say the least.
Thank you for all the support recently, it hasn't gone unnoticed!! I am thankful to have had a pretty good range day when I recorded this :)
Isn't B sharp just C
Those D-sharps should be E-flats c:
ABS-CBN
Damn. That’s just incredible!
Thanks, I really love the arrangement on this one!
Geni😢genius
Are you singing the 1st tenor part?
Yes, I recorded all the parts! :)
Hey man, I love playing your barbershop tags on my keyboard and this one was an especially fun one. Its quickly becoming one of favorites just because of how simple and fun it is. I also just love unison moments in barbershop because you don't hear them very often.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it :D
Beautiful tenor part, my friend!
Thank you so much!!
Nice F on that bass. I love bullying the ranges as well!
Fabulous!
This is good stuff, but your first tenor must hate you 😅😅😅😅
Oddly enough, aside from the high D at the end (which unfortunately is pretty close to the edge of my range depending on the day), I found the tenor part the easiest to record! But I'm sure having sung it hundreds of times while writing it probably had a pretty big impact haha. Thanks for listening as always! :)
Augmented chords always sound lovely
Great work. You’d give any barber shop quartet a real workout.
Alastor's Intro of his radio show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey! I love your stuff. Would you like to collaborate at some point?
That sounds awesome! Shoot me an email at ryanthetrombonist@gmail.com with some more information so we can chat :)
@@ryancomposition I went ahead and sent an email.
“Its Home”, not “It’s Home” (as in “It Is Home).
Where did you learn to write music?
That last chord.
The Barbershop Master has returned! That’s the old Ryan we know and love. Fantastic!
Damn dude could you imagine telling your beginner self that one day you would be making music like this, bloody good stuff
Thank you so much! Funnily enough, I think my past self just be blown away that i’m writing for vocal music. Thanks for listening :)
Inspiring! It’s funny how a career develops. I never thought I’d arrange for big bands but it happened. Just like you and vocal. The Big Guy leads us where we need to be! Never fight it…just go with it.
Baritone definitely moves from C to A on “to”
👏 'PromoSM'
pitch correction goes crazy lol
