One month of Living of Grid while working online in the South of France (What it's really like)
We just spend an incredible month living off grid in a tent at a friend's place in the South of France. It was such a gift to spend some quality time slowing down and connecting to nature. During this period both of us were working remotely online. In this video, I share my reflections and learnings from the experience as well as some tips for any of you considering spending some time off grid while working online.

I totally agree 👍
The skipping rope can also be used as a line for hanging your laundry after you wash your clothes
That I can take sick days for mental health reasons too 😊

The Canary Islands are one of the poorest regions in Spain, the only thing the arrival of digital nomads achieves is to impoverish the local population even more since, among other things, the locals cannot pay rent because the Europeans come with much more money and they are willing to pay much higher rents. The only thing that is being achieved is destroying the economy of a place that, far from being paradise as they describe it, is the home of many people.
Thank you
Hi where can I find about tefl as looking at starting qualification but hsve no degree or experience. I want to be a digital nomad as worked my whole life but how do I do it as most online apps etc have age and bachelor degree required. I have no idea about marketing myself online. ❤
After almost a decade of being a digital nomad having worked in 15 different countries while rarely spending more than a few months in one location during that time period. It’s safe to say I know what works well and what doesn’t. And if I could start this journey again, here are 3 work life balance rules I would break and what I would do differently. 1. Working Monday-Friday When you’re often changing environments and time zones, your energy levels will fluctuate hugely and sometimes the weekends can be the best time to settle down and get bang out some great work. 2. Working a set amount of hours a day In many countries access to a productive environment and conductive work space isn’t always a given. It can be much more enjoyable to work in chunks based off of your plans throughout the week vs on an arbitrary time scale. 3. Prioritising your work over happiness. I hear so many digital nomads talking about discipline and sustaining a stable income so you can be a full time digital nomads and then so many of them end up burning out. Why? Because travelling requires an immense amount of energy and it’s not a sustainable way to live if you have a demanding full time job. You’re always going to have to compromise on something. Life is too short to waste it. It’s so important to ask yourself whether what you are doing aligns with what your heart really wants. And if it doesn’t. Change it no matter how hard that might be. My goal for the next 12 months is to work as little as possible and allow more space for spontaneity which is the polar opposite of how I’ve existed for the last 28 years. Does this mean I’m not going to work hard. Absolutely not. I give everything to my clients and the projects I am a part of but I also treasure my free time. What are your intentions for this next chapter in your life?
you don't even show how you packed them in...
And that’s okay.

I really liked to hear your reflections of what worked well and what you'd like to do differently next year :)
H0W do all of those clothes fit in such a small flat bag! Helen glares at her daysack in disgust . . .
The way you casually mentioned lipedema! My ears perked up! I too have lipedema mostly thighs & upper arms.
Greetings my fellow lippy friend. For me it’s the whole legs I’m experimenting with all kinds of management techniques at the moment. Because I have type 3 compression doesn’t make sense. When did you get diagnosed
Hey, great video. Liked and subscribed! I'm heading to Iceland soon and just wondering should I bring upper and lower body waterproofs? We are bringing tons of layers and a wind proof but no water proofs. Other vids say you should, did you manage ok without? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Hey there, thanks so much for the subscribe. So with Iceland it depends on what time of year you go and what temperature it will be and what activities you will be doing. Personally we were into hiking, seeing waterfalls and chilling in hot springs. And I just prefer to wear work out gear on the bottom during a hike and just change it in the car because I hate the sound the waterproof pants make when you walk so I go made after 4hs. And also any activity like kayaking or whale watching they provide you with full body suits. I would highly recommend bringing a rain jacket though but we just brought these light thin ponchos I think I forgot to put that in the video because it was in my husbands bag but it was just a 12 euro one from decathalon. Hope this helps and enjoy Iceland ❤
Hey, cool video. You are cool to listen to and watch 😊 I love the fact that you use time stamps, that you not only show what you are taking with you but you made a list so it is easier for me to know what you are taking with ya. Nothing better than travelling with the bare minimum. I did it for the first time 5 years ago and I refuse to travel with more than a backpack, there are sinks and washing machines 😄 If you end up needing something, you can always buy it. How was your experience with the Tropicfeel backpack? I used it once and was not happy with it. It felty very uncomfortable to carry. A pity because I do like the quality and the wardrobe system is awesome. I ended up giving it to my brother, he hasn't used it yet tho. Lovely video! Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Germany 😊
Hey, thanks so much for watching. I’m super happy you found the video informative. And obvs am totally onboard with what you say about minimalist travel. About the tropic feel bag. Yeah I also got rid of the wardrobe system inside. It was too bulky and annoying. There are many things I love about the backpack like for example I really like that it expands. But after using it for a couple of years, I’m not sure I would recommend it for long term travel. It’s more of a weekend bag. Next time I will probably go with something with a clam shell. Actually I did a bit of a review of this bag in a previous packing video if you’re curious I can link it here
Here it is: th-cam.com/video/0kPJtEk9yAg/w-d-xo.html&si=wEQueP5Otem2Rdc9
@@OoGy95Oh, thanks for taking the time to reply :) I bought the backpack because I loved the wardrobe system. In case anyone is reading this and wants one, AEVOR also sells one that is a bit smaller, I believe. Oh, sure! I can search for it myself but if you wanna share the link, feel free :) Have a lovely day :)
I feel you with the socks. I also only wear ankle socks as long socks give me the ick
Yesssss ankle socks for the win!
Just watched and wondering if you were able to clean up your coffee spill?😆
Yup I absolutely did. I was so relieved haha
Love your doggy! And your packing style😇 Yola from SouthAfrica
Hihi thank you so much for watching ❤️
Great info. What brand/model is the sleeping mat and do you know how much your bag weighted? Thx.
So the sleeping mat it was from decathalon I’m not sure of the brand actually I borrowed it from my mum. My bag weighed around 7.3 kg with everything inside
@@OoGy95 thank you

Nice video! I think i missed the part where you mentioned your backpack brand and model. Can i ask for that one please?
Yeah absolutely the backpack is tropic feel shell backpack. And if you’re interested in a more in depth review of the backpack I have that in my other packing video which you can check out here: th-cam.com/video/0kPJtEk9yAg/w-d-xo.html&feature=shareb
